line of the day – ‘Mr Sanchize. We’ve been winning in spite of him a lot more than people know’ GV knew it then, most Jets fans haven’t woken up to it even now.

Good, tight episode, like the new shorter format

Still no Ohio on the tour 🙁

I got the Alamos Torrontes recently but haven’t drunken it yet- we’ll have to see if that’s any better than these.

Mott- thanks for showing us the chalk board today!

QOTD: I just got a well rated yet inexpensive Cahors- I’ve never had a Cahors, but in general a nice red wine like that goes great in the fall & I can’t wait to try it.

qotd : just got a couple bottles of the 02 Caves Jean Bourdy vin jaune after alot of searching. Gonna have one of those. Gonna need some more reds with this autumn weather. Just got a Portuguese red from Douro, gonna give that a shot too.

Any chance of you doing a vin jaune episode on the show Gary?

Looking forward to a big ass Cab from Calipornia.
I thought you sort of liked the first wine, then you went all angry and dumped on it and then dumped it. WTF maybe you need some cheese with it. good show.

You mentioned you were going to review 2 Chardonnays for the Friday show but Mott listed the 2008 La Cana Albarino and repeated the 2008 La Yunta Torrontes below.

I’ve only had the 2006 La Yunta, which we loved (bought several bottles worth) — haven’t seen any later vintages, though. I hope the torrontes situation is just a temporary one. When done well, it is a beautiful wine.

QOTD: I’ve had a craving for full-bodied whites lately — vouvrays, chardonnays, a glass with big flavor and a long finish.

  • Hey Gary,

Seems like your pretty pumped with life at the moment, kudos to you – you work hard & now things are paying off!
This was a bit of a MEH episode – I really couldn’t get into the swing of things I spose….Every though you canned both the Torrontes Im still very curious to give them a go if I can find them.

QOTD..We are coming into spring here in AUS – I’m swinging over to the lighter styler dry rose’ I think its a good wine for the climate & the foods we eat as we come into summer

  • SurfCityJay

Bad wine, good show… good luck tomorrow… can’t wait for the 22nd…

QOTD: I’ve got some Pinot Noir that will be ready for the next few months, and of course so Cab, Merlot, Zin.. heck what I ALWAYS drink… 😉

QOTD: Anything Nebbiolo. Nothing more comforting than a glass of Neb. when it is cold outside.
Congrats on the book release, I am excited to recieve my copies:) My apologies Gary on my lack of comments the last 4-5 shows.

  • I’m looking forward drinking to my soon to be arriving Cinderella wines.

6 bottles coming this week, and if I was a betting man, I’d say next week and the following week I’ll be seeing a lot more wine.
