I will be tailgating at Paul Brown Stadium and want celebrate in “Who Dey” fashion, therefore I intend to purchase a varietal (red) that very few will be familiar with. Suggestions?

Probably going to crack a bottle of ’45 Petrus. And then when I wake up from that dream… I will probably have an amarone with some braised meat of some sort – maybe some veal shanks.

  • My wife has a race today, so probably a beer post-race and hopefully the need for some sparkling to celebrate. Spending most of my positive thoughts on the Yankees, one down…

First time comment, but long-time “lurker”. I think it can be tough to put a stainless steel Chardonnay next to a pretty good oaked one, sometimes. Mutt Lynch Winery’s Unleashed Chardonnay is pretty good for the price, no oak but several months on the lees, so it’s got body and acidity. And Trevor Jones has a good “Virgin” Chardonnay, too. No oak, but a little Malo.

  • QOTD: Hoping to get out to a PA winery and check out the scene. I know you were down on the “other” states’ wineries but I gotta give them a chance!

  • I think you’re 16 to 7 prediction is a little too conservative. It’ll probably be more like 60 to 7. Especially after (though you didn’t know this at the time you predicted) losing to the Phins.
