I like these tighter, shorter shows but this one is possibly too short. You just can’t please some people!

QOTD my biggest disappointment in the last 60 days was the Saints torching of the Giants. And yes the tight shows are good please keep them up. Speaking of tight the Giants secondary better get tight or it will be a short playoff post-season for them.

Like the tight shows. Also do like the longer ones – mixing it up is always good.

QOTD – could say I’m disappointed that you’re not reading the comments on the show anymore, but i know you are traveling. I also could say that I am disappointed that you haven’t done a double blind taste off, but that could be considered ungrateful.

Instead, I’ll be disappointed that the Yanks just blew game 3 against the Angels… let’s go for 3-1 tomorrow!

QOTD: The Packers not being able to hold off the Vikings. Hopefully we’ll have payback big time at home in two weeks.

Luckily I’ve been finding more wines you’ve reviewed so I haven’t been too disappointed lately. HOWEVER! The last wine I tried that I was looking forward too but left me hanging was the Castano Monastrell. Way too much pepper for my weak pallet. Sweet shows and start shipping to Illinois!

  • Like the tight shows. Maybe throw in a long one once a week! Really cool to compare two wines from the same producer and the same varietal.

Like the tighter shows, unless you are going to have a cool guest like Vance Sharp on.

qotd: For my Tigers to get into the MLB playoffs, then they took a huge DUMP the last month of the season.

Tough week for the Jets, lose the game, then their starting NT for the season. I feel your pain.

  • My wife & I spent 6 days/5 nights of our July 2000 honeymoon biking through Burgundy with 2 nights at the Hotel Château de Gilly, 2 nights in Beaune, and another at a small chateau somewhere in between. Great country side rides, awesome food, and oh, the wine! Even for a Santa Barbara county native, this was a very special treat. Our B&B in Beaune was in the hills just west of town, and I could imagine the history there, going way, way back. (One morning, I imagined the trenches of WWI with the way the country side looked with a bit of low hanging fog over long rows of vineyards that passed for my trenches). WWI & WWII monuments in every village, which appeared to sprout within the shadow’s reach of the local church’s steeple. The people were amazingly hospitable to 2 crazy Americans biking and drinking everywhere. I still have a photo of my wife eating a baguette stumbling through the narrow and colorful streets of Beaune after a “happy hour” of wine tasting, where we filled tastevin after tastevin to REALLY enjoy the wine and our honeymoon. This is an awesome region, with amazing finds in wine. Don’t just drink these and forget about what went into them. I know my wife and I will never forget.

Great look into Meursault, thanks for that!
QotD: The ’81 Lopez de Heredia Bosconia Gran Reserva. I had heard great things about it, tried and went “Wha?!” It was a bit of The Emperor’s New Clothes for my palate.

QOTD The 2009 SF Giants Baseball season. I didn’t think they where going to be that good then when they had a shot I got so pumped but of course they just petered down the stretch. The good think about sports, next year.

Yes, really appreciate the short-shows, easy for me to find 8 minutes out of a day to watch one.

Really really want to buy a couple bottles of the Charmes, save one, have one now.

QOTD: It’s embarrassing…allowed a huckster to talk me into buying a face cream “that will make your skin look like glass”…yeah, right…did get my money back, tho.

I’m a fan of around 20 minutes, but if there is a guest I don’t mind if it is longer.

I enjoy the shows lately but would prefer longer episodes when you have time. Since WLTV is a part of my routine each day, more is better.

I like the tight show as far as getting to the wines in a timely fashion. But I would like to see 20 minute shows, where maybe you have to different focuses. Or have 6 to 7 wines you try with the same pace.

Qotd: Im trying to crush it on ebay with my own store, its been slow going, but im hopeful!

I agree Gary, I’m liking the super tight no-b.s. shows (although your b.s. can often be fun and entertaining).

QOTD: Happened only a few hours ago–I was supposed to go over to a friends place to watch the Monday Night Football game (i dont have cable at my place) only to go over and found out their cable was out!

Good show. I like the longer shows with more bs actually. But I will take whatever I can get!

QOTD: The most recent disappointment I had was the “Where the Wild Things Are” movie. Not great.

I prefer the 12-15 minute shows, but the 8-10 minute shows are good as well. I can’t really complain when I’m getting all this wine knowledge for free.

Qotd – The St. Louis Cardinals post-season. I got myself all amped up after all the trades and thought this was the year for championship #11 and then got swept in the first round by the Dodgers…oh well.
