I like these tighter, shorter shows but this one is possibly too short. You just can’t please some people!

    Tight is right.

Gary – great episode!!! I haven’t had too many white burgundies so it was interesting to hear about Mersault. I agree the tighter focused shows are a nice change of pace and I like your idea of nerding it up in the beginning of the show and bringing the wine knowledge thunder.

QOTD: I’m a Redskins fan…. enough said, they are just painful to watch and continue to disappoint. Gary, I’m sorry to hear the Jets lost Kris Jenkins, thats a tough blow to a team that got off to such a hot start!

    Gary,

Another solid show. I like the variety of your shows, some long, some short, some blind-tasings, some laid-back Fridays on the sofa, some great guests. It’s all good stuff!

QOTD: I recently attended a wine tasting on a cruise ship. The wines were all outstanding, and it included Opus One [don’t know the year]. I was psyched all week waiting for the Opus One tasting, thinking it would knock my socks off. When the time came, I found it to be a terrific wine, but not as special [to me] as would seemingly be indicated by the very high price it commands. Maybe my palate is not sophisticated enough to fully appreciate it, but it seemed over-rated to me. I have had wines in the $25 to $35 range that were just as impressive.

    Gary,

I am loving these tight shows. Good choice of nerdy wines we may never hear of but should drink. I would suggest throwing in an extra 30 seconds of comments from the Vayniacs next time. The most disappointing moment in the last 60 days would be when my co-worker got fired. I was expecting her to scream and cuss at our director and make a big scene. That’s how she got fired in the first place. Unfortunately my front row tickets to the “Dilbert” of UFC matches didn’t live up to the hype.

I like the tight shows (they are kinda like a speed round) but I did learn a TON on the longer versions. I can really see room for BOTH. Maybe the short versions for the everyday presentations and the longer versions for special subjects and interviewing guests??

If it hasn’t already been done….could you PLEASE review and give some wisdom on the Low/No Sulfide Wines???? Sulfites effect myself and a few people I know and would deff. sway our buying if there are good choices. I have started seeing more in my local stores.

Thank you for ALL you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just remember… 07 is a firm vintage.. I bet you might see the Genevrieres differently in 3-4 years..
I might be “closing down” right now.. for a while..

QOTD – I like these shorter format shows for the week days, since there is less time to watch. Put interviews and big shows on Friday, which can be watched over the weekend.

The previous comment may have the answer to my question. How do you explain such a big difference between these two wines. I would be very pissed if I paid 66 bones for the second wine. My mouth and my wallet would be angry. Not even good at half the price?
This is a big reason it is so hard to put out big money for wine. The price, reputations, and the stupid scores get your expectations so high, and then it’s like,,,, meh

love the tight shows this is about my 5th comment on telling you how much I like your short versions. Less is more. You accomplish just as much without waisting my time. I appreciate it. Just like the Jets it didnt take long to find out that they are a fraud. Sorry. My Eagles suck too. So I dont feel bad..

This format is nice, although a third bottle wouldn’t hurt it. Also a Chablis Premier or Grand Cru tasting would be interesting.

QOTD: That movie Public Enemies with Johnny Depp. I had such high hopes

I really enjoy the lighter, tighter shows. Good info, but straight to the wines make it seem really focused. Great stuff.

QOTD: Disappointed by the Angels loss in game 2. But low and behold they came through in game 3. Guess they just needed some nice weather. I’ll never know how you guys handle that weather on the east coast.

This format is great Gary! Nice and quick with alot of information. Keep it up!
QOTD: The knew girlfriend of a buddy of mine. He told me how amazingly beautiful she is for at least 3 weeks. Turned out to be a fairly weird look on the girl after all.

Gary?.the new format eventhough is short and sweet but it is not you. This is not the Gary Vay-ner-chuk that caught my attention and got me hook on wine. The new format is ok but then it is so similar to the other wine shows. The Gary part is definitely missing?..anyway it?s just my 2cts worth?.

    One other answer for qotd:

Cloudy Bay Sauv Bluanc. Had heard so much about this wine, tried it at Cru Saturday night next to 2 others, ended up liking the Long Board much better. Why would you ever a pay $28 for for a Sauv Blanc when there are so many good ones for around 15 bones. meh.

Football season…again. Buffalo and Syracuse fan. It’s been this way about 10 years now.

Tight shows not living up to the hype. It appears to me that Gary is just trying to get the show done so he can get on to other things. I am not feeling the love of wine and what you are doing. It seems rushed and over-prepped.

QOTD: Took a job that made some promises and it hasn’t brought the thunder! Still happy to have a job though

And don’t change a thing, GV!! Love the shows, happy to take what I can get. You can’t complain about free advice! Especially trustworthy advice.
