  • Gary,

Did you get that guys info. I would love to connect with him, being in the health care industry and all. I wish I could have heard him better.

QOTD: The best experience at a airport bar was just being able to get a drink at LAX during my second lay over of the day. I just needed some booze.

AHH Gary I was just in the Dallas airport like a week ago–it would’ve been cool to run into you. Anyway, another interesting and real show as usual.
QOTD: I have never had a drink at an airport.

  • Hi, Gary.
I just read your book Crush It… awesome. I’ve just become a fan and thought I would check out your Wine show. Pretty cool. Like your style / personality on camera. Liked it even better in the book. I’m recommending your content to all my clients now. Thanks. You have inspired me.

I don’t drink but if you ever get down to Virginia, we have some awesome wine producers in the area along with some big wine festivals this time of year.

    Hope to catch you late.
    Cheers

Glad you are willing to make the most out of what is available to you?even if it is fried chicken parts and gulpable wine. We?ve all been in situations similar to this.

QOTD: 9:30AM layover in Chicago ? my wife and I drinking our breakfast on our 10th anniversary.

QOTD: During an incredibly frenetic period of time both professionally and personally, my wife and I were flying to DC to help my son get moved into a new place. Not what you would call a vacation, but. . . We had a layover and found an airport bar that served some microbrews. We got to sit, decompress, and talk. It turned into one of those special relationship affirming, building times.

Funny episode! I love how Matt just pans around while the doctor guy was droning on.

QOTD: I don’t normally drink in airports. I once had a beer with lunch during a 3 hour layover in Houston, but I don’t even remember what it was.

  • I’d have to say I have a couple good wine experiences at airports..
The most recent was at the Philly airport they have a little wine bar (Vino Volo), and I had enough time on my stop over on the way to San Francisco, to taste quite a few of the wines there, always helps make the 2nd part of the trip better then the first.

My other memorable experience, would be when I was moving back to Toronto, from SF, and had around 30 bottles in a large duffle bag, that I lugged through the airport, through security, through customs. The good old days.

QOTD: Not necessarily drinking wine, but had dinner at Portland airport and did some wine shopping at the airport stores. Was able to bring home a variety of 6 more wines, that we held off purchasing at the wineries themselves due to shipping back to NJ. When are they gonna change these stupid direct shipping laws. Pain in the @$$….

No nuggets, or generally, chicken for the trouble that that industry is in.

I’ve sold a few Angove’s wines that I’ve stood behind for their modest price point. Boomey, as well, but to a lesser extent.

QotD – anytime I’d traveled w/ GF, and I could drink in thecompany of her presence.

    Fun Times Gary!
QOTD: Airplanes and me aren’t usually friends, so I generally don’t drink.
However, I did have a lovely glass of Sam Adams Cherry Wheat Ale in the DC airport in the days before the Italian Kerner bashed me over the head and dragged me away. ; )

like the food/wine pairing – you should do that more!

QOTD- i used to work in an airport bar (bradley) so i have lots of stories about serving rather than drinking. Being at Bradley brought many who worked for ESPN! My best night of work was when I was able to watch Mike Ditka enjoy more than one bottle of wine – (wish i could remeber what he was drinking but it was red) – and he is one of those guys who get completely red in the face after a few too many drinks. Great guy! Fun night!
