QOTD; Only time I drank at an aerport was DFW and had a Lone Star. The beer was terrible so I’ve never drank alcohol at an aerport since and will never buy another Lone Star.

  • Hello Gary, nice airport tasting with soundtrack included!!

Its true about Jura, what about vin jaune? I would really like to taste it but is impossible to find here in Argentina, so it would be nice seeing you tasting these kind of rare wines

and Fondillón de Alicante? it is sweet or dry?

Nice little show with a built-in soundtrack. Very hip. The “surprise guest” was highly annoying. Glad you lost him. Might be a good dude, but he was a buzz kill on the show’s vibe.

QOTD: I’ve had a nice Stag’s Leap Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon at the Continental President’s Club in Newark. Also had a decent Barolo there another time. I’ve noticed that some airports (like Newark) are adding wine bars to the amenities in the concourse. I haven’t tried them yet, but I wholeheartedly approve of the concept.

Always enjoy watching you Gary AND telling people about you. Also I am selling and distributing my friend Dr Harry Karis’ Chateauneuf-du-Pape WineBook. Robert Parkers forward the book Gary and it’s an unbelievable work-nothing like it. Would you be interested in receiving one as my gift and the possibility of having Harry come on your show? Here’s Parkers comments Thanks, Mike I can?t end this introduction without saying something about a new book that was self-published by Dutchman Harry Karis, called The Châteauneuf du Pape Wine Book. He asked me to write the forward. Because I found the book to be so impressive, it was a privilege to do so. One of the finest literary achievements on wine I have ever read, this monumental reference work on Châteauneuf du Pape will be indispensable to lovers of Châteauneuf du Pape for years to come. A truly brilliant book on so many different levels, nothing like it has ever been produced. It is a singular achievement, and one has to admire Harry Karis?s courage in self-publishing this book. A one-time chef and doctor who gave it all up to pursue his favorite wines in the world, Châteauneuf du Pape, he spent five years in the region researching this book with his son, the photographer responsible for the superb photos throughout the book. A sensational achievement, you can order it directly from his web site, and of course is available fromamazon.com.

QOTD: I can’t recall having a drink at an airport except for an early morning coffee.

I think Matt wants you to fill up on Nuggets so that he can have the wrap sandwich.

The look on your face at 5:23 is priceless. And then NIN blaring in the background in the final minutes.
QOTD: Easy. Montreal after a bachelor party. 14 bloody mary’s while our plane was delayed from snow. Calmata juice was used up there. Heart burn lasted 2 days. I was wasted when I finally made it onto the plane.
    Awesome time.

I totally love that Dr. comes up and gets his book signed and then wants to pitch his idea to you. Brilliant!! Now, that’s reality TV.

QOTD: Day before Christmas at the Cincinatti airport. Snowed in. Had to spend the night in the Delta Red Carpet Lounge. So after their internet quit working I figured it was my duty to drink them dry. Totally emptied the bar in the Red Carpet lounge. Bad chardonnay, bad merlot, bad scotch, good scotch, bourbon, bad vodka. We drank everything. Burp. I’m pretty sure I was still drunk when I got on the plane at 6:45am the next day. Watching them de-ice a plane sucks with a hangover.

Love the make-shift podcasts on the road because the wines are such a wild card! And the McNugget pairing was a nice touch!

QOTD: Waiting at O’Hare with a bunch of buddies as our flight was delayed for a bachelor party. Lots of shots were purchased as we waited. Made for a fun flight!

Awesome atmosphere for this episode. It’s like there was a personal DJ spinnig in the background.

QOTD: Got a Starbucks Latte before and had to finish before going through TSA. Little did I know there was another Starbucks on the other side of security.

  • I’ve never thought of paring wine with chicken McNuggets. Funny! Adding a little BBQ sauce – even funnier! Oh my!

QOTD: Had a glass of Chardonnay with my sis while waiting for a flight home to see my folks. Loved the wine. Loved the guy serving the wine. Loved having a few moments with my sis at the airport.
