    Gary,
Nice episode – always like intros to new varietals (and these were new to me!).

QOTD: I got you this blog response in the WSJ:

Amanda?s comments imply that Gary endorses products, he doesn?t. His ethics are his credibility, he rates wine without regard to the fact that they are carried in his store – and that often is to the detriment of his business. Billy Mays is a harsh exaggeration in my opinion. Gary?s not ?hawking BS products?, I wonder if she?s ever watched a Wine Library episode? In any case as PotomacSecretAgent put it so well, genuine passion is the key, and Gary?s message is to follow your passion.

Enjoy your BD and keep doing what you’re doin’

Great episode, keep bringing on the unknown varietals to the show, I’m loving the enlightenment.

QOTD: A terrible towel? That way you can wave it when the Steelers repeat!

    Love todays show!

QOTD : Dirt Salad. It’s kinda like rock salad, but a tad smoother. Maybe I’ll squeeze some lemon on it for you.

I’ve liked the few I’ve had, but felt they were slightly overpriced for the quality. I’d order it as a white eating Italian, but would buy Chenin for home

  • QOTD: How about well wishes for another tremendous year?

Never tried Falanghina. I’ll have to find it in the stores around here. Not much variety in this small town :/
QOTD: I think I’ll send this awesome book I just picked up the other day, called “Crush It”. My guess… you’d LOVE it. It’s totally up your alley! 😀

  • “Rock Salad”? Wasn’t exactly the descriptor I was looking for but I think you nailed it pretty well. I’ll disclose that I am the importer for Mustilli’s wines. There’s a hint of smokiness I get along with the minerals and citrus you describe.

The Mustilli’s (Two sisters, Paola and Anna Chiara) have worked hard on improving their wines over the last few years. Their Falanghinas in particular have gotten more focused and balanced. We expect great things from them over the coming years and are proud to represent them.

Thanks again Gary for the kind words and your honesty.

Great to have you back Gary. I enjoyed the show but I must admit I have never heard of Falanghina. But since I am taking my family to Rome and Naples in April, I will surely check it out. Thanks for the tip and thanks for mixing it up on the Thunder Show. QOTD: for your birthday I guarantee you a Jets victory on Sunday.
