    My favorite pastime? Cooking great food or eating out. Yesterday I made unagi rice (Japanese rice with eel). This week I will be in DC eating at Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak. Yum.

    QOTD: Spending time with my wife. Since we are both teachers our time is precious. When we can unwind watching a favorite movie or tv show on dvd and just be…. That is my favorite way to pass the time.

    If I’m on my own, a long walk, or a good book help to pass the time till I can see my beautiful bride.

    I love that you are featuring Italy. Giving me lots of ideas for my March trip.

    nice to see these quick and to the point shows – NOT that i do not like some long ones with guests or a big vertical of something. anyhow- nice to see the italian whites making their presence. the past few times that i have been to italy ( veneto and piedmont) i have ordered stuff that i have never heard of before and each time was pleasantly surprised. good times.

    qotd – my favorite past time used to be skiing but that does not happen much anymore. i would have to say cooking for friends and wine too. i make art but the food and wine things have become so much more prevalent in my life. i love sharing stuff.

    Yeah! Going Ultimate Warrior at 4:44. That was awesome! Everybody needs to youtube Ultimate Warrior and watch his WWF “Interviews” when he has the makeup on. Each one is crazier than the next.

    Italian whites do sound like a good bet. It makes sense, most areas where the reds are bit thin make good whites. Although I try to only drink New Jersey whites and Pinot Noirs because they do a decent job and I am supporting my local wine industry and economy.

    That being said, you need to promote your home state Gary. There are some fantastic wines out there, Unionville’s Cam Jam, a Pinot Noir/ Chamborcin blend and Alba Vineyard’s Barbera are both outstanding efforts.

  • Since Tuscan whites are not soo hot these days I have found myself drinking tons of whites from Campagna, Alto adige, and Friuli, and boy are some of them delicious. Ive especially had success with the Pinot Biano.
