lines of the day (3 – first time ever!) – ‘The Abbott and Costello of wine bottles’, ‘I’m going for a big upset here. Mott, a little Buster Douglas action’, and ‘let’s stay out of Mott’s love life’

Stonking, all action episode with boxing references and demonstration. Loved it

QOTD: I love shooting guns! Go to the gun range and blow a whole bunch of ammo. With all the islamic jihadists around these days such as Fort Hood in Texas, you never know when one will need it.

Wonderful show! Love the enthusiasm, and yes, Italian white wine has been largely ignored for too long, thanks for bringing these great wines to the forefront.
QOTD:Reading historical fiction, takes you away from the everyday grind of life.

  • Hi Gary,

Loved this episode and most of all your reaction after the first wine. What I expected was LOTS of Granny Smith on the midpalate, but I assumed that flavour wasn’t there at all? All of the Pinot Bianco’s and Blanco’s I’ve tasted were all Granny Smith acid.

    Greetings,
    Sander

Thanks for another good short (do like the occasional long-hypernerdy-info-filled, too).

QOTD: Name just one?!?! Can’t: needlepoint while watching a movie, sitting on the patio watching a sunset w/ good wine & good friends, foil & sabre, hiking, strolling through an art museum, relaxing at home reading poetry or listening to classical music or jazz…am a nerd with no shame.

Thanks, G. The bulk of my wine fridge is Italian whites. Some of the absolute best wines w/food and does not require warm weather.

QOTD: Lately: wine trips. Me and my Wife just love traveling to areas surrounded by vinyards and the little quaint towns that are surrounded by them.

  • I just did a distrbutor presentation where I started by touting Alto Adige as the best region for white wine production in Northern Italy. Pinot Bianco/Blanc to me is the most under apreciated white grape.

QOTD: I am a huge live music fan. I love going to small venues to see local and indie bands as well a some naional acts. The New Orleans Jazz Festival is on my calender as a given.
