93/100

lines of the day (3 – first time ever!) – ‘The Abbott and Costello of wine bottles’, ‘I’m going for a big upset here. Mott, a little Buster Douglas action’, and ‘let’s stay out of Mott’s love life’

Stonking, all action episode with boxing references and demonstration. Loved it

oh snap! i am going to look for that Tramin starting right now!

QOTD: i think it has to be cooking…maybe it’s the anticipation that whatever is being made will turn out well!

QTD – Cooking a complete, decent meal.

Most of my weekday evening time is occupied with our daughter’s dancing schedule so we don’t have time to have a nice, complete meal together. It’s nice when we can get one of those in on the weekends.

I’d say that I would love to get in a long walk after dinner, or read a book, get into the evening sports events or something like that but with the schedule in place, there is little time for this. Maybe in the future.

QOTD: actually i had to really think about that. Writing I would say, but tasting chocolate, playing golf comes close too.

    Have a nice day

  • These two latest shows have got me looking for Italian wines! Unfortunately, besides the typical Chianti, they’re difficult to come by in my neck of the woods… will keep looking!

QOTD: reading, golf, running, movies, photography… ADD!

  • HAH! Loved the serious enthusiasm for the first wine. You had me salivating, smiling, laughing, and amped up all at the same time.

QOTD: Cooking, eating, and drinking kick a** wine with friends and family. That’s my happy place.

  • Nice to see you back in full swing after the book tour. I’m excited about Italian whites after the last two episodes and look forward to seeing more. Falanghina was something I stumbled across recently and have been really high on, and I’ve been intrigued by Pinot Blanc for awhile but I’ve never had one from Alto Adige – any major stylistic differences between here and other parts of the world? Immediately I think of the Alsace, but I feel like I’ve had a few from other parts of France and maybe Cali as well, all of which have been good and surprisingly complex. Also you touched on Sancerre, which is probably my all time favorite white wine, though I have to agree with you I’ve had a lot of mediocre ones lately – how about an episode trying to find one that really brings the thunder in the near future…

qotd – It’s starting to get cold in New England, and I just bought my season pass, so at the moment I’m going to say spending a day skiing and then sitting by the fire with an Irish coffee, though trying food and wine is an obvious staple, and lately I’ve been starting to do a little more cooking myself. And of course there’s nothing like a good book.

QOTD: I love to cook…for my family for my friends…I love making something awesome to eat then pairing the most awesome wine I have with the food, and sharing that with my family and friends.
