lines of the day – ‘you’re the first guest to make Mott laugh’ and ‘I saw bubbles, I couldn’t control myself’

Great show, loved the guest; really funny, laid back and straight up said what she thought.

GV – Belated Happy Birthday. I was enjoying mine to much to do this on the 14th.

Why don’t you put that nice new Spanish wine you are promoting up on Cinderella Wines? 30 bones is much to expensive.

QOTD: I forgot what it was. Boring!!!

Oh also,1. KAHUNA–hilarious. And 2. this was by far the most i’ve ever heard mott’s voice. i think the giants will get 5 more wins, maybe enough for a wild card in the nfc.

Another great show; Marcy was superb ’cause she really added to the epeisode. You have to have her back. Loved the “give/take” between you two.

  • Love that you had Marcy on the show and love this episode regardless. Most entertaining wine library episode yet (though I’ve only seen three or four). : )

    Good show, excellent guest.

    QOTD(1): Haven’t read it. (Yet.)

QOTD(2): I’m not much of a party person myself, so the most important thing is finding a quiet spot away from the commotion.

30 episodes until 800. I can’t wait. Bring the thunder. If I hear anything else about 2007 Southern Rhone my head may explode.

Ahh, someone from my business world!

I couldn’t agree more, Marcy, about the catering halls that are clueless about trying to sell good wines on the events. This comes from the medium to lower end sales people that are new to the business and (sadly) have not learned how to sell an event. Many of the higher-end venues will have a more experienced sales person that knows how to work the sale.

Anyway, good job Marcy. GV…good choice for a guest and I like the tempo of these shows lately.

This guest really brought something to the show, kind of a wine appreciators point of view (not connoisseur) and seemed to meld well with the Gary persona 🙂 I personally liked the questions that she asked, its always good to review basics, even at Gary’s level of the game. Great episode

QOTD: The thing that is most important in a party is the people. Can’t have good hospitality without good people.

QOTD: #1 would be the guests, the company you keep. They should be made to feel at home and treated special. All the other elements are secondary, though great food and drink doesn’t hurt.

The most important part of a party is not running out of booze. I have many different types of friends so some need beer some need wine some need liquor.

I have gone to parties where I don’t know a single person and if there was enough booze I made tons of friends and turned the party around from small groups talking to a huge loud rager.

Another great show. A fun guest, but the wines weren’t overshadowed. You’re on a roll, Gary. Keep it up.
