When I go to a banquet hall function I am sure to set out a good bottle of wine and something good to eat for when I return because I will guarantee you I will have neither there. At a good catered meal usually it is the noise, these really loud bands/orchestras leave me with just a headache no mater the food,wine or guests.

QOTD: Definitely the people, the crowd. b/c even if there’s great music playing, and the food and drink are awesome, if there’s no one to share the experience with, it’s just not fun.

Parties need good people and good music to create a great ambiance. You can have crappy beer or wine, but the party can still be epic if the right mix of company and the right mix of beats are there.

nice show! qotd: the wine and the food are the most important aspects in a event. then the music! but with no good wine or cocktails its difficult to enjoy. hospitality, thats the magic word.

QOTD: I’ve had the opportunity to plan a lot of events over the past few years and my keyword would be comfort. Basically, it transcends everything else (cost, size, occasion, formality, etc.) and is the most important feeling you want to inspire in your guests. If they’re comfortable, everything else will fall into place.

QOTD1: Haven’t had the time to look at books unrelated to my coursework lately. When Christmas comes around, I will get a copy and read at a leisurely pace.

QOTD2: I’m not really a big party person – parties scare me. But I do enjoy getting together with my friends and meeting new people one or two at a time, preferably over food and wine. So for me, it’s the people, in a setting I don’t feel uncomfortable with. Wait, that’s not really one element but two. Hm.
