lines of the day – ‘you’re the first guest to make Mott laugh’ and ‘I saw bubbles, I couldn’t control myself’

Great show, loved the guest; really funny, laid back and straight up said what she thought.

Another great show. A fun guest, but the wines weren’t overshadowed. You’re on a roll, Gary. Keep it up.

When I go to a banquet hall function I am sure to set out a good bottle of wine and something good to eat for when I return because I will guarantee you I will have neither there. At a good catered meal usually it is the noise, these really loud bands/orchestras leave me with just a headache no mater the food, wine or guests.

QOTD: Definitely the people, the crowd. b/c even if there’s great music playing, and the food and drink are awesome, if there’s no one to share the experience with, it’s just not fun.

If the music’s not good, the party dies fast.
If the music is good and your family and friends are there, that is the definition of party.

  • haven’t got the book yet.
Parties need good people and good music to create a great ambiance. You can have crappy beer or wine, but the party can still be epic if the right mix of company and the right mix of beats are there.

Liked this episode. Don’t always like your guests, but she was good (maybe one day I’ll be able to afford to hire her…)

QOTD: I’ve had the opportunity to plan a lot of events over the past few years and my keyword would be comfort. Basically, it transcends everything else (cost, size, occasion, formality, etc.) and is the most important feeling you want to inspire in your guests. If they’re comfortable, everything else will fall into place.

QOTD1: Haven’t had the time to look at books unrelated to my coursework lately. When Christmas comes around, I will get a copy and read at a leisurely pace.

QOTD2: I’m not really a big party person – parties scare me. But I do enjoy getting together with my friends and meeting new people one or two at a time, preferably over food and wine. So for me, it’s the people, in a setting I don’t feel uncomfortable with. Wait, that’s not really one element but two. Hm.

Qotd: activities. I have trouble just “mixing” so structured things are great to get me off the couch or the corner.

Gary, once again you’ve refrenced compote, the juice, and I have to again mention it. I love the refrence because so few people here know what that is. I, having been to Ukraine (another eastern european nation), know what it is and have tasted some. I feel we have a connection with that and it makes me happy. 🙂
