QOTD: I’m too late for this one…looks like you had a good night though.
QOTD2: How old? I suppose I would have to go with italian. But come on, we’re all into wine. What was the original wine pairing? Manna. That’s right.

  • Nice, tight episode. And while it’s laughable, I do feel bad for the producer of this wine…awful timing.

QOTD–Old world cuisine. Not quite sure what to make of this, but the first thing that comes to mind is Irish porridge. It is so filling and warm and delicious. Takes about an hour to make enough for two servings, but it’s easily worth the time.

Also, about these thank you packs–any chance of getting an all white wine pack? Maybe a riesling, gewurz and a white burg? Maybe? Please? If there was an all white-wine pack, I could ask my mom to get it for me for the holidays…hah.

  • My favorite old world food is the eastern european stuff. I worked at a place in philly that served Polish and Russian food. Its just so hearty and delicious. I already looked at the score so I am disqualified from that whole thing but just for you Gary I did root for them. J-E-T-S jets jets jets.

    Nice show, again.

Gary/Ian, talking about Pinots from Willamette Valley, Oregon, you really need to include wines from Cristom Vineyards in a future show. They are really great – and fantastic value, imho. Perhaps even invite the winemaker Steve Doerner (an ex-Calera winemaker) as a special guest. The 2006 “Sommers Reserve” is especially good vaule, me thinks. There a chapter devoted to this wine/vinery in Paul Lukacs book “The Great Wines of America: The Top Forty Vintners, Vineyards and Vintages” (http://www.amazon.com/Great-Wines-America-Vintners-Vineyards/dp/0393051382)

Sounds as if that Pinot needs some time to mellow – surprised you didn’t mention that actually Gary! QOTD: Italian food – gotta be.
