89/100

lines of the day – ‘Bunny Sniffs’ and ‘On the tart-o-meter this is off the charts’

Solid episode, GV helped out the guest a little more than he usually does…can’t blame him.

Holy crap, Serena Altschul on WLTV.!.! G, you can end it right now, this can’t be topped. G, you shoulda been better prepared with some cheese, dude. That Chianti woulda been sooo much better w/some good aged parm.

QOTD: Sorry, Serena, not well versed on the Tequila. More of a single malt Scotch person. Although, I do like me a nasty margharita with some smooth as silk Petron from time-to-time. Thanks for stopping by.

    Good guest and nice show.

QOTD 1: If I am not mistaken it has to do with the agave used.

QOTD 2: Haven’t had too much Mezcal, but would say I like them both equal.

    Great show, GV and Serena!

QOTD: What the heck is mezcal? I love a Patron silver margarita once in a while!

Aahh! GV! You just skyrocketed on the coolness factor with this show. Serena Altschul has been a favorite of mine since her MTV days; talk about a strong woman to admire. I’m completely satisfied. You need to thank her again for coming on the show. She was a perfect juxtaposition to you.

QOTD: It’s a bit odd that I would choose tequila, as it causes me to spontaneously need to do a stomping dance so I don’t hurl it back up, but I’m going with tequila as it used to be my shot of choice. Plus, I’ve never had mezcal.

    Keep it real.

One of the best of the non-expert shows. She was willing to give it a shot and took it seriously. Good stuff.

QOTD: Never had Tequila outside of mixed drinks and never had Mezcal at all so can’t really comment.

You recovered! Frank Grace’s Il Molina di Grace wines are among the finest made in Tuscany. Each successive tier of his productions is created (he is a world famous sculpturing artist, from Ohio, if I’m not wrong) to show a linear progression of quality, rising in intensity and potential for longevity. The simple “Il Volano” is fresh with live fruit, and balanced acid. (this wine benefits addition of 25% Merlot in the mix) At the other end, the “Gracius” is imposing with it’s largesse and bold presence. Both extremes are delicious, and worth their price points, as is the entire line, exemplary of Sangiovese’s pure ability and range, and without the handicapping unbalanced OVERuse of masquerading oak.

QotD – don’t drink much Tequila, (a geographical equivalent of an AoC, or D.O.), but when I do, (like the most interesting man in the world!), I prefer 100% Agave Plata (Silver).

Reposado’s ok too, for a little nip w/ a beer.

    oh yeah….

Boe – ken – hootz – kloof. That was a good one.

p.s. I loved the first book, which I’d just sent to my daughter for her 22nd B-day (today). Happy birthday, Rachel!
