    QOTD: to this day I haven’t had a disappointing Bordeaux, some have left me wanting a bit more definitely, but not to the point of unpleasantness.

    QOTD: 2006 Pezat Bordeuax Superieur

    Guy at the wine shop recommended it as a major steal at $14 and the vineyard is “paces away from St. Emilion”… it was nothing to get excited about. Too hot in the back end even overpowered a steak I had with it. I guess not a terrible wine, but disappointed based on the glowing recommendation.

    Ch Armailhac 04.. Paid quite some money on this wine and I don’t know if it was a bad bottle, but it was weak on the palate, flat nose showing some artificial red fruits, not even much concentrated oak..

    I agree- these last couple episodes seem a bit *too* short- I also like the occasional non-wine yapping- it’s what got me hooked on your show. I’d love to see a good 20-25 min or so episode w/out a guest…maybe Cindy pack A tasting???? =)

  • Oh and BTW: I agree COMPLETELY about being tired of Merlot/Cab Sauv. Only 100% Cab Francs like Bourgueil rock my world, speaking of Cab. Merlot seems to be a little too round, soft and smooth. Like you also getting tired of a car which ALWAYS drives on 2000RPM and never accelerates like hell. And Cab Sauv is just too much of everything: too much oak, fruit, tar, it’s nothing or too much.

    Just my two cents.
