Hi GV!! Welcome back!! We missed a lot your wine insights this 5 years. Being an original Vayniac, and thru all this years asking for you to come back, its very nice to see everything changed for the best. Hope the family is very well, Sasha, AJ, Lizzie and Misha (a little baby when you stopped WLTV)! I myself, have a lovely couple babies at home, 30 month old boy and 8 month old girl. Hope WLTV is back to stay!! QOTD: 2012 Quinta Maria Izabel tinto, Douro. Great wine!

Blinds and double blinds, yes. But not every episode.
More solo shows, yes. But keep bringing those fab guests.
And bring us more Sasha, more couch, more Mott.

In fact, do whatever you want Gary V,and we will love it!

Its always going to be a good show when Mott gets some screen time.

Would like to see the following in 2010:

    1. All Blinds would be an excellent way to do shows.
    2. Less guests, except a big name winemaker once a month.
    3. I would also like to see GV get the Bob on for a extended blind tasting, that would be the most epic show ever.
    4. More Sasha and Mott for that matter.
    5. And two big time shows with the people from the forums, one east coast one west coast.

You did a “March Madness” show with college wines (I believe show #652) that was really fun. There are now enough schools boasting enology programs that it would be kinda fun to do a bracket, not necessarily 64 schools but it would be kinda cool to see how many you could get and devote a week to it.

QOTD: Double-blind certainly gets my vote. Keeps things very interesting. Less guests is also cool by me–I love these “quickie” episodes with lots of wine banter. Keep up the great work GV.

QOTD: Blind-tastings are good, but not the entire year. Guests should only be associated with wine. Mixing it up the way you do is great. Travel shows, home shows–it’s all good!

  • QOTD: (1) Blinds are awesome. I’m on the way to becoming a somm. so to watch deductive and systematic tasting by someone with way more experience than most is really helpful. Maybe 100% blind is a little much but at least 1-2 a week would be nice. (2) Nerd out more. Do verticals, taste rare varietals, obscure regions, and maybe incorporate some lesser known wines, regions, etc. that are pumping out “value plays.” I’d love to see Greece, Balkans (Slovenia, Croatia…), Middle East (i.e. Lebanon) get some representation too.

The show is still awesome though. Educational, inspirational, and freeee. Thanks for keeping the content flowing. Cheers.

Double-blinds are fun to throw in from time to time, but not all year. Less guest is a great idea keep the shows tight. I’m sure whatever you come up with will rock; keep up the great work, and I look forward to another great year of WLTV.

  • QOTD: Like the idea of more “old school” episodes next year. Single and double blinds are great too. Would love more of a focus on the Rhone – maybe a Cote Rotie show, or a focus on 2007 Cotes du Rhones???

Hope everyone at the WL has a healthy and happy holiday!

Gary, enjoyed this show, nice change. I’d say no to the year of blinds, while I enjoy them I think it would get boring for me as a viewer. Mix in the guests, but one thing I would like to see is some technical stuff… namely wine service. How about a show that talks about how to open, pour, decant, and so on? Maybe even take on the service end for all the servers/bartenders out there. I for one would be very interested in that episode! Keep up the innovative ideas/trends!!
