Good show with a stonking anti-oak rant

I’ve always liked the Mitolo GAM and Kay Brothers Block 6 Shiraz’s when I feel like a lettin loose a bit. They are big but tend to “walk the line” for me.

Thanks Gary, Aussies have taken such a huge bashing from the Americans thanks to stereotyping, we’re kinda like the beaten up dog cowering in the corner at the moment – it is affecting the good guys (the small Aussie producers) or even the bigger ones who do a good job.

I want to see you try Hunter Valley Semillons one day! (Tyrrell’s especially) I noticed your comments the other day about South Africa claiming straight semillons as their own, but the biggest centre of straight semillon in the world is the Hunter! And it is such a youthful, citric acid grape even at a nice age.

QOTD: Santa has been around too much in the last 2 months and there can’t afford to come again!!

I’ve had the Penley Estate and it is definitely worthy of an Oak Monster apperance! The Pinot however does sound like a good value. QOTD Santa is me extra cellar space!! Needless to say he will be bringing me extra bottles to fill it as well.

Gary, do you always use a microwave to melt your candy? I tried and a toaster oven gives better results.

QOTD: I’m hoping Santa brings me an imersion blender.

    Gary, that is not a 2×4, it’s a piece of trim… 😉
Good show! Two to look for, one to avoid!
QOTD: Other than family surrounding me, though that by itself is enough, I haven’t a clue what Santa might be bringing me.

Gary, you don’t like wood in your mouth while drinking wine? Also, keep up the budget wines. Its great knowing there are 90 pt wines under $15. Us college kids cant put out the $$$ for wine, but we still want to impress the ladies! It is like a constant search for a great baseball card in a random pack. Thanks for uncovering a couple more.
