I had the 05 Paul Jaboulet and didn’t care for either.

    Get well.

Smelling wine is always tricky: it’s not just what a person smells, it’s the associations each individual makes with those smells. Five bucks says Mott smelled what you did but didn’t associate it with black pepper. Hey, maybe you should send him to a sensory evaluation course (it’s not like he has all that much else to do, right?) and video the results for WLTV. Who knows, Mott could become a more influential figure than Parker.

QOTD: Jarlsberg, followed hotly by Emmentaler.

When I can’t find the hard-to-find 2 pound box of Velveta, or a good can of cheeze-whiz, I enjoy:
a good block of aged cheddar.

Hi Gary . . . fav cheese WAS Mimolette (aged) so much that I named our puppy after it almost 10 years ago (French Bulldog). Now we’re shopping for a new puppy, this dog will be named Chabichoux, now my new favorite cheese. Look it up!! Cheers, thanks for highlighting another fabulous Rhone appellation.

  • Good episode. I’ve seen the Crozes Hermitage wines at my local wine merchant but have never actually bought one (nor tried fro that matter).

QOTD: my favorite cheese is Manchego tied with Emmental. I found one on GL http://gourmetlibrary.com/products/47201-El-Trigal-Manchego-8-Months
