QOTD: A friend popped a bpttle of 1999 Bollinger Grand Anee tonight at midnight, and it surely did not disappoint. Man oh man I love New Years Eve and the large quantities of bubbles consumed. I LOVE me some quality sparklers, not only at this time of year, but year-round with and without food. Cheers.

QOTD: Had a delicious meal at Vin Rouge in Durham NC with a 2006 Cahors Haut-Monplaisir Malbec. Great way to cap a great 2009 for me.

No bubbles… we drank a Terra Rosa malbec with our prime rib…Happy New Year !

We enjoyed a quiet night after dinner out with a not that memorable…red wine….so….we popped the cork on a bottle of Cava at home…..I love it….this one was inexpensive, but still enjoyable…a Cristalino Brut, Still good this am in mimosas..,,,Cavas & Champagnes are my favorite esp. since visit to Rouen and Champagne country 🙂 & to southern spain where the cava flowed freely…
