lines of the day – ‘Mallorca…you could walk it coast to coast if you’re in great shape like Mott’ and (of barging a young Pats fan) ‘I don’t want to be defined by that moment; that was a 65, in other moments I’m a 99’

Very enjoyable episode with really interesting guest (who manages to hang in there despite not having the best grasp of English). GV turning into a very good listener….at last !

Just finished watching the episode, felt bad about posting the complaint about the guest episodes on this episode bc i really like this guy. However, it was still worth pointing out.

  • philct

Nice way to handle the comments from the last show.. However, and even the folks from the winery are feeling the same way, you do put yourself at risk putting yourself out there, but, that winery has now had a ton of exposure on here, and will benefit from it in the end. They are great people, and she has learned a lession in business and branding with it.. Good stuff..

  • guymandude

cool guest, gotta try those wines.
    qotd'awesome

  • Oude Hendrik

Mallorca wine, sounds good, and I'm in luck this time because AN/2 is available in Pennsy. Disqcus: Browser Warning Will Robinson. Energize the force field.

  • Kurt T

6-8 month lurker, 1st commet. I have to say it –

Playoff beards are a hockey tradition !! Please don't associate hockey with the No Fun League !! 🙂

  • Great guest…when I was in Spain on my honeymoon, I didn't get a chance to head out to Mallorca. Now, I have an extra incentive to go…or for now, I'd like to get my hands on some of their unique varietal.

QOTD: In Spain, Barcelona would likely be favorite, though in Champions League play, it's much different. I always thought Henry got a bad rap with his previous team…I always felt the talent was there.

  • MooseSox

@BigBoy – if you have a World Market near your, I just saw those glasses in their yesterday.

  • Neil

I don't know much about the Barcelona Soccer team. The only person I have followed from Mallorca is Rafa Nadal. I hope his knees get better.

  • waynestreet

Nice show Gary, I think its great to discover new wines and verietals, Perhaps wines from Mt Etna next? Glad you understood the comments about the previous show no harm intended they just picked the wrong person to represent that winery. Go Jets

  • Is that the first time anyone besides Gary has poured a wine on WLTV??

  • ChrisC

HATE this new blog format. What is going on? Are you turning into a control freak???

    Repeat…Hate it.

  • Neil

What's with this new format? I used to always be able to post a comment and now I'm being told that “A browser setting is preventing you from logging in. Fix this setting to log in.” I had to post as a guest. Very confusing. Any solutions???????????????

Callet is Mediterranean pinot, I love it! As an American living in Barcelona this was a great episode on many levels. When Priorat gets too strong for food, where do you go? Mallorca. For anyone that's interested in these wines and is traveling to Barcelona I can tell you that these wines are a fair bit less expensive over here (especially the AN).

  • ChrisC

QOTD should be…Do you like my new blog format?

    Answer: Unsubscribed from WLTV today!

Guess you are main stream now and have your millions? Book and wine sales going good enough to diss your regular readers, bloggers, and supporters with this control freak format! Thanks for the heads up on this. Hope the change is worth it. This is almost as bad as HP censorship!
Two steps forward and five back!

  • JoshL

Thank you Miquelangel, you were a great guest! I found this episode full of new knowledge, good light hearted humor, and the passion I seek from a winemaker. I feel so much better now! I will definitely have to search for the Negra and Callet vino in general!

QOTD: no me gusta FC Barcelona, viva Real!!!!!
GV, you're so wrong on the Eagles Cowgirls prediction, Eagles all the way! (go Phillies!)

  • CabZinPin

Hey Gary, glad you're back. Although today's show was painfully long, I watched it all anyway. I have to admit, the whole time I was watching I was thinking of Helen.

  • Edward Salonia

    Hrm… New comment system…

  • DAveAll

hmm. new interface, must adapt, I will. smile.

Nice way to address the last episode – a true David Letterman approach! GRR8.

QOTD: I don't follow sports. sorry.

  • Edward Salonia

Whops… Looks like i get an email for every comment posted here, by default… I suggest WL change that, please.

  • We will fix that!

  • Yes I want to get more involved, we have been working on this for awhile 🙂 I am excited

  • We will tighten it up!

  • Edward Salonia

Thanks Gary! Other than that, this looks nice with the threading capabilities, such as this. And I'm glad I don't have to sign up for an account to do this.

  • Chris what do u mean? why are u mad, I thought this is so much better for interacting with each other

  • We will work it out Neil!

  • Yes!

  • Thnx Ed, I am excited about this upgrade in interaction!

  • Kirk

QOTD: I think they are not nearly as charismatic as the guest today

  • Edward Salonia

Going to add this to CW as well?

  • ChrisC

    For starters.

Get rid of the “Flag” button.

That is “IF” you trust us enough to act like adults????

  • Chris, please, u are acting like I am trying to do something bad, we have been working on this for weeks to make it awesome, that is a default from this service, I am sure u know me well enough to know this is not anything other than an awesome way to communicate with each other like I do on garyvaynerchuk.com, I have had this there for over a year http://garyvaynerchuk.com/

  • 😉

  • Tnx Randy I love ya!

  • prodrinker

Loved the show! definitely an entretaining guest.

QOTD : Although I have read many comments regarding that nobody cares about soccer, I have to respectfully disagree. Lets be clear that no other sport in the world is played more and has more fans that soccer. Yes, in the USA it might be baseball, basketball, or football, but that is the case of the USA.
Now, regarding Barcelona FC I LOVE them !!! I hope they always beat the cra.. out of the Merengues of the Real Desmadrid 🙂

  • Edward Salonia

I must agree. The threading for comments like this is much easier to read, and lets us interact in more of a chat room fashion. As for the “flag”, a lot of sites need that. If another user finds something to be offensive, there should be a mechanisim to alert the powers that be so they can review it. Nothing wrong with that, ChrisC.

  • Edward I dont need the flag, I understand Chris, its just default thats all, I will look into it, this thought does allow awesome interaction!

  • Also Edward add a image! an avatar!

  • Juan

QOD: Real madrid is much betta`! More titles, more feeling, more heart and soul historically.

Enjoyed the show. Interesting state of mind. I luv Mallorca: great place to live long and prosper: Ask Chopin about it. You forgot to ask Miguel Angel what wine pairs better with Ensaimada!

  • Thnx Jaun 🙂 he is a good guy!

  • Neil

Thank you Gary. I've posted for years and would like to continue to post w/out having to post as a “guest”. If there is something that has to be tweaked in the browser setting kindly advise.

  • Edward Salonia

Ok GV, I caved and created a disqus account. I figure, I comment here (and CW…) often enough to make it worth while; and I even added the profile picture.

  • Also u are only getting emails when people reply to you and I still think you can edit that!

  • Edward Salonia

Yup, I changed it. But, before I had the disqus account, as a guest, it is defaulted to subscribe and it wasn't just replies to my own comment, it was each comment here after mine. No worries though, it didn't hurt my email account. Just if others don't look carefully, they will start getting a lot of emails because as you are probably aware of, this site generates a lot of comments. May be best to have it defaulted to not being subscribed for guests. Just my .02

  • Gary, I really like the new threading capabilities. It's made it easier for me to see how upset some people get over something so simple.

  • JoshL

I like the reply feature and all, but will all the replies hinder people from reading all the original posts? it does seem to take a lot of space…just a thought….looking forward to the next episode, again, today's was awesome. it's malbec night for moi~

  • Ahhhhh, this was a great episode to lay back on a Friday and enjoy. And yes, you handled the previous episode's comments with dignity and class. Thank you

Now, what a gentleman and an actual winemaker who knew the percentages of the blends without even looking at the label. “I don't pay for wines” Ooops, Dom don't go back, step forward! 😉

Loved the show, the new format, ehh. I don't remember my password from DISQUS so I couldn't upload my “other” hero's pic so I have to subject the Vayner Nation to my ugly mug. Only neg comment to today's show. Well, other than the infamous “Not Available” 🙁

Gary: Thank you, great show, there will be bumps in the road and you handled the most recent one with class.

Now, let's hope the Jets win tomorrow. I will be cooking Julia Child's “Boeuf Bourgigone” tomorrow after tennis while watching the Jets dismantle the Bengals.

    GO COLTS!!!!

    Cheers!
    Dom

  • Danilo

I really liked the show, Gary!

Do you know how much AN/2 costs here in Brazil? 60 Us dollars…
And Anima Negra An is selling for 107 US dollars… it~s f******* crazy!

That's the problem here in Brazil. We have to pay 5, 6, 7 times more.
Argentinian and Chilean wines are more expensive here than in the US.

Sometimes I take a look at the prices of Wine Library, I get so jealous.
And we can't blame just the tax rates. It~s lack of competition.

Please open a store here. kkk

  • Gary, loved Crush It! and have secondarily been inspired by this site to learn more than “read & white” about wine.

Kudos on the comment system changes, too. Seems like there ought to be a way to smush it down vertically more, though… less scrolling for version 3.0?

  • QOTD: Oh oh! I have no clue. They are one of the most expensive franchises in the world but I dunno. It's not “Real” football is it?

    Hey, my avatar changed!

  • Hey DOM? Have I told you how Much I love having u here with me for so long?
