    Two things:
1- What are you going to do if your Jets wins the superbowl. Maybe you have to start thinking the possibility…ah? Do something, promise something!
2- Are we ever going to meet each other? I think not…it´s sad but all my efforts to travel to the states they don´t go much beyond. Anyway…chears!

I’m quite happy to have been very, very wrong about the Jets. I hope I’m just as wrong about Duke/UConn.

Washington wine is officially number one this year, at least according to Wine Spectator. What do you think about it? It would be great to have a couple of shows about Washington wine. My current personal Washington favorite wine is Columbia Winery Barbera.

  • Hi
    Gary
all of best wishes to you
for this year, I hope you are doing
    excellent, let me know
    if you are thinking about
    to have your bussiness overseas
I like your program, your appreciation for wine
is far from perfect, you rock!! MAN
could be Spain, Argentina, Italy or
other places you know, maybe China, or India
Our generation is going to rock it!!!!
this is a very oportunity to iniciate
a bussiness, where the wines haven't been
exhibit. tell me what you think””@@@
I am up for any alternative, thank you
for for attention and quick response.
    have a wonderful tomorrow always!!!

GV, really liking the shows of same vintage, same varietal.
Again, nice jets win! You ahd the point spread right 😉

One of the more ineteresting wines I've had recently was a Zenato Ripassa 2006. I had never had this style of wine before, but I found it very intriguing. Complex. Less than $25 and a RP93.

The Jets won, you must be happy today Gary. Washington wines are awesome. I like Waterbrook for value. I still need to try some top tier stuff though.

  • Cool_Dave

    Too true! 😉

  • castello

I've never seen a Columbia winery Barbera! I've had a couple lately that are outstanding. One was Eberle from Paso and the other 2006 Ruggeri Corsini Barbera d'Alba “Armujan”. Just a bottle I picked by the label at the KandL store and had me going back for more. Both for 20 or so bones. I can't wait to try a couple Washington State versions.

Welcome to Vayniac island. *A little voice in the distance cries* “Hey boss! Champagne! Champagne!”
*A man in a white suit with a Jets. hat answers? “Yes Mottoo my 'little?' friend.

    Gary,
found your show on the internet about a week ago and I love it. I am currently living in sicly, Italy. and have turned in to a wine freak love the stuff. love the food and Wine here.. just wanted to say thanks for your passion

  • tommyb2

Hi Gary, The Massolino Barbera d'Alba 2005 is real good too; although in the UK I paid £20 for it so a little pricey! Need to try an get hold of some of their Barolo…

  • markcfromtoronto

Congratzzzzzzzz Gary on those JETS…JETS…..JETS 🙂

  • iurileao

Hey Gary, I've only watched your show now, on monday, and I'd like to congratulate you for keeping up the great work for so much time.

I like it when you focus on unsought values like, Dolcetto. Could you make a show about Riojas reservas and gran reservas made in the “classical” old style? Stuff like Viña Tondonia, Marques de Murrieta and the alike. They aren't cheap, but sure are nice values and have tipicity.

Congratz on the Jets achivement too, I've watched the game from Brazil, were I live, and remembered of you.

  • NY Pete

me likes the way u think waynooooooooooooooooo …

  • slave2thevine

Gary…I'm glad to see you're enjoying the Jets victory! This was a great reminder that I need to check back in with Dolcetto again. I've probably only had a case or so in the last 2-3 years.

As for leaving a comment. Here it is. I was your guest on episode #425, and I left you a bottle of wine to re-taste on the show at a later time. Can you tell me when I might hope to see you revisit the wine on another show? It's been almost 400 episodes since I left you that bottle…and I'm wondering if I'll get to see you revisit it again? Thanks…and keep up the great content.

DISQUS is crushing it! We are approaching Helen Buehler comment status, nice!

  • Krunch

Congrats on the Jet's win. So this means we get another week of they “FURRY” face of yours beaming thru our monitors.

  • Phil G

HUGE win for the men in green – looking forward to seeing next week’s Super Bowl 3 rematch. Though the Jets will be underdongs once again, it won’t nearly be by as much as back then…

Otherwise, I was wondering if there was a way to watch WLTV on my Motorola/Verizon Droid phone. Is this possible? Anyone?

  • Read the first three chapters of Crush It! last night. Not the best choice for bedtime reading… I was too jazzed to sleep worth a damn afterward. I’m looking forward to the next installment tonight. Maybe you should market the book with a packet of sleeping pills to help readers turn off their brains when they put the book down?!?! And btw, I’ll be trying the 2007 Aldo Conterno Dolcetto Masante and commenting soon.

  • luvgrapesqueezings

u must be pretty pumped up!!!!!! Congrats- I hope they beat the Colts!!!!!!!!!

  • NOT YET!

  • The last wine rocks and the Jets roll and drank a 2001 Joseph Phelps Baccus…not a bad weekend.

  • ron westlund

Come on Gary – to hate a wine such as number 1 Dolcetta is your opinion….but don't you think you owe it to yourself to go back and retaste it after you've raved about #3. Maybe it needed a few minutes to blow off some volital stuff. I have had that experience many times…..the wine is completely transformed after as little as 10-15 mins. Besides, it would be educational for your humble viewers to get your comments on how wine might change after the first taste. thanks!!

  • cellarrat5

I have seen people comment on this post that I have never seen before! Foreign and domestic lurkers, with our powers combined!!! The lurkers are emerging; this proves that you really have the power to bring them out Gary! BY THE POWER OF GREAYSKUUUULLL!!!!!!! Sorry, slipped into another decade for a second there…

  • NY Pete

hey Kirk … didn't that bottle end up @ some offline … LOL

  • peaceloveandpinstripes

I absolutely love dolcetto and since this is post jets game i will say that the vikings will beat the jets in the superbowl by a score of 24-17

  • JohnnyMac

Gary – Answering your call for comments.
Don't know if you've done tried this before – but what about top wine quotes as a topic – One of my favorites is…
“Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”
    Ernest Hemingway
    Death in the Afternoon

Congrats on 801! I've been here since the beginning and have attended some WLTV functions. I have recently been trying harder to introduce GV to more people…Friday night tastings are a great way to do this. Keep rockin' and may the Jets do the impossible and WIN THE SUPERBOWL!

Looking Forward To: Gary's next episode where he goes ballistic about the Jets beating the Chargers!!!!

  • Neil

    Go Jets!

  • Don Simpson

Anyone had the Sori Paitin Dolcetto D'Alba? Freaking delicious…

  • WineWoman

I originally predicted the Jets would not beat the Chargers and would like to apologize for being wrong. This is one case where I am happy for being incorrect. Congratulations Gary and the NY Jets! Jets! Jets!

  • Don Simpson

DISQUS = COMMENTS THROUGH THE ROOF!!!! Already at 534, wow… Is this approaching Helen Buehler comment status? 🙂

  • btuss

Great W for the Jets! I have to say, this was my first WLTV episode, and boy do I have some catching up to do. Love the passion, love the wine, can't wait to see what's next! Can't wait to get my hands on the Aldo Conterno!

  • Don Simpson

Trivia: What is the most # of comments on a WLTV episode?

  • cellarrat5

    it might beat that ep!!!

  • Pretty cool. Go Jets!

  • perrandersdenmark

Great show even though these wines weren't swell.
I prefer fruit driven wines – and enjov Dolcetto wines in particular.

I enjoy fruit elegant white wines. . . . . try some of the fresh Rieslings from palatinate(pflalz, Germany) 2007 or 2008. I like both vintages a lot.

  • jayhitek

Hey Gary. Big fan of the show.
Kills me that the Jets and Colts are in the finals.. Don't know who to root for. I want them both to lose. Pats sucked donkey balls this post season.

  • cellarrat5

Gary, I just watched the segment where you try and make a Jets fan out of a Giants fan and I thought I heard you say your favorite number is 5 when you were talking about why that homemade jersy ment so much to you. I also had a Giants baseball shirt made for me! In my warped mind this somehow means we have an iota in common which makes me kind of want to be a Jets fan even though I have never really been a huge fan of football (something about the cheep beer and fat guys barking always has turned me off). Good luck to your team of teams!

  • Amazing what such a charming lady can cause.. 😉

  • NY Pete

GV is a trooper … it was great to met your Dad today and btw, it was his idea to walk up to the third floor … J – E – T – S – Jets Jets Jets!!!

  • Cool_Dave

Welcome. I'm poping a Telegramme Chateauneuf du Pape tonight to celebrate Gay's victory. Only a half bottle though cause I gotta work tomarrow.

  • Cool_Dave

    We must make it happen!
