Just edit your own post first and no one will know!

No double-overtime Gary! I couldn't take that. I'm getting hammer out here in So Cal for being a Jets fan! but I don't care ” Bring it Bolts fans!!”

    G-
23-20 Jets in SINGLE OT. 🙂

    Don't think I've tried a dolcetto………..yet.

I'm just WAITING to crack one of the '00 Branaire Ducru's. Saw the Bordeaux show with that one and had to check it out after the 'Ridonkulous' comment. Bought a couple to put away and gave one to my brother in law for xmas. Sound like MY kind of vino.

    over-

  • One of them will win. And My roommate will watch it.

  • Milind

I love the Jets more than anyone following circa 1981 and the New York Sack Exchange (ie Gastineau/Klelcko) However, I have the the flip side of Gary. We lose a heart breaker.

  • daveheck

Chargers 38 – Jets 13. The Jets will not be this years Cinderella story!

I urge you to try the Dolcetto Controvento 07 from Cantine Bava.
Gave it a 94 at 09 Vinitaly. Prunotto and Marchesi di Barolo also have good Dolcettos

  • Home field advantage will rule – and I HATE IT! BTW, I hope you aren't planning to stick around after the game. Big storms brewing off the coast.

  • I am relatively new to the world of wine, and I absolutely love your show. Rooting for the Jets…

  • vickiesmith

    Chargers CRUSH Jets 21 -10

  • Jets 31 Chargers 3

  • raptureimage

You have not only made me start to like wine, but I now am rooting for the Jets as well, probably just cause I have no hope for my Browns.

    Your best blog is #182.

Best blog other then yours is Rapture Image's Marketing Blog.

Also, your Hip Hop at Lunch blog def needs some work.

  • I'm pretty excited my wife Brenda is about to have our second daughter in the next few weeks. Figuring on life getting pretty hectic so I don't see a lot of time free to interact here when episodes are new, but I try to read as many comments each time I do view. Do enjoy conversation on Twitter though at @dadekian. Thanks.

  • GV I hope I'm wrong on this prediction for your sake, but I have to go with my gut.

    Chargers 27
    Jets 17

  • You've got a lofty prediction there, Gary… but it would be interesting to watch!

I gotta go with my hometown boys, the Chargers. It'll be 37-14. 🙂

  • I hope for the sake of the Colts you are right. The Colts would dominate the Jets in the AFC Championships. But, I have to go with the Bolts 31-13.

  • SEFB

I am a big Jets fan–since the 1969 Joe Namath Super Bowl win. I predict Jets 27 Chargers 23.

  • flavasauce

QOTD: I've been watching you Gary since '06 and don't think I've missed one show. I'm amazed that you've been able to continue for this long, staying interesting and teaching me new things and for that I want to say thanks and kudos to you! I met you briefly at the first SF Vaniac thing at Fort Mason.

Only thing about show I don't love is all the football talk as I'm not a football fan. I am however a Tennis lover and recently read Andre Aggasi's book, Open which I highly, highly recommend to you and everyone. He is a really good, interesting and passionate guy much like you GV!
    xo,

QOTD: I'm a big fan of Michael Ruhlman's blog as he also tries to provide a community along with info. Maybe he is a Crush It reader.

The comments don't look good for your Jets. I'm curious to see the mood of Monday's show.

  • aeo2164

I have a question that I have been wondering about for a while. Do tannins come from the stem of the grape?

If so, is it purposely left with the grape to give the wine another taste aspect?

  • I’m all for the tokaji, yummy stuff!!

  • jeffsjeff

QOTD: I'm drinking a 2008 Keller Riesling trocken and eating matzo ball soup compliments of my mother who just paid me a visit.

    Prediction: Jets 27, Chargers 17

Prediction #2: The baby in the adjoining apartment will never, EVER stop crying.

  • aeo2164

Maybe he would like some soup.

  • jeffsjeff

LOL. Maybe I could boil some and then *accidentally* trip and fall as I'm standing next to him. Is that horrible?

  • Well since the other three games this week have been blowouts… Jets 20, Chargers 17 in OT.

  • Jim

So, I know zip about Dolcettos – just how sweet was the winner? Are we talking sickly candy here?

  • jimchem

I haven't had a Dolcetto in a long time. You have inspired me to look for one.

I like your show a lot and watch every episode.

  • It's sucks because I'm from Quebec and at SAQ (Our liquor store), there's none of those three wines Gary presented. Thanks anyway Gary for all those informations concerning Dolcetto !

  • I’m soooo glad I was wrong. All the home teams have been rolling over the visitors. Very happy for you Gary, I hope you get to the Super Bowl.

  • b777capt

Lots of replies GV. I have a gaping hole in my wine repertoire where Dolcetto should be so I am happy you covered it here. Keep up the great work.

  • b777capt

Gary said it was dry didn't he? He said “little sweet one” was a misnomer. If you were kidding then ignore my comment.

  • b777capt

Tannins are in the skin and stem and are usually thought to add to the aging ability of the wine. They also add something to the chemical mix that affects the ongoing process in aging wine. I think there is more involved as well so maybe someone who knows more can add comments.

    Big D

  • domnicoletta

I have been watching from the beginning and hour italian cverage is my favourite!! That being said I have tried many more styles and varietals because of your influence! Great job and congrats on the longevity of the show!

  • KOdyssey

The tannins (stems and skins) also provide the healthy components of wine – antioxidants and resveratrol. So tannic wines are good for you!

  • Chris Hansen

Pulled pork and dolcetto is a match made in heaven.

  • Oh gotta love Dolcetto.

Can be in her youth a little bitter and harsh on the tannins, but a 06/07 is a great deal now. Try the Dolcetto d'Alba from Cigliuti. Cost around 20 bucks and is in my opinion a GREAT buy!

    Cheers,
    Sander
