    Pepsi!
I never had a St Joseph, but i am a big fan of the northern rhone.

  • ONUMello

QOTD1: I don't like American regular coke, but I'm definitely a Diet Coke guy, and I had the chance to drink regular Coke in Honduras that was made with real cane sugar vs corn syrup, and it was unbelievably good.
QOTD2: no. Obviously I'll have to work on that.
QOTD3: My first college roommate is a huge extrovert whom I respect & like; my favorite introvert is definitely my dad.

  • LMNOPinot

Gary, I don't think you need that coke.
    Never had Saint J.

    In(vert)-My brother.
    Ex- My Dog Pinot.

  • WineArchitect

    1. Diet Coke
QOTD: Ext. Gary Vee, Int. My daughter Amanda

Absolutely love Saint Joseph wines with their animal-like essence, unlike the more refined northern rhone Cote Rotie's.

Agreed! I don?t know what it is, perhaps it?s the implant device coke put in my brain, but I hate Pepsi with a passion, that and its owned by Mormons. No offence intended, like wine we believe what makes sense to us, but I just can?t stand Joseph Smith, sorry Pepsi an all Mormons I may have offended. This also does not mean they owned all of Pepsi Co by any means, and ownership may have changed hands since I have done any reaserch.

  • extrovert : Prince (yes, the artist formerly known as…)
introvert : Roger Federer (best tennis player ever)

never had a St. Joseph 🙁

and coke way better than pepsi
(it's comparing the MountEverest with the MontBlanc)

HUGE beer fan. In fact, ever since I started working at a winery, I have drunk a lot more beer. I suppose this is not surprising, expansion of the pallet and exploration of new flavors. Some of the better brewed beer is quite similar to Wine in many flavor aspects. The Cantillon from Belgium Gary had on the show was the most “wine like” beer I have ever had, fantastic!

  • DAveAll

COKE ZERO – save your calories for something else.

Personally don't like stemless wine glasses – like drinking from a jelly jar.

QOTD: never considered those personalities. hmm.

  • John Artmann

Northern Rhône Syrah is truly amazing, and Hermitage is probably the most consistent appelation in France; with huuuge aromatics… The best Saint Joseph can also be excellent, but the average, in my opinion, is not so good, lacking a bit of structure, due to high yields.

    SubQOTD: Coke/Diet Coke
    SubQOTD2: No, never had a St. Joseph. . .

QOTD: Off the top of my head. . . same person, Robin Williams (or his characters. . . Mrs. Doubtfire, Sean Macguire in Good Will Hunting, Genie in Aladdin, Adrian Cronauer in Good Morning Vietnam, Armand Goldman in the Birdcage and of course. . . John Keating in Dead Poets Society).

  • ronwestlund

come on Gary – lose the stemless glasses. what's the deal? your hand obscures the wine and warms the glass. don't go low class on us Gary. great show otherwise!!! Cru beaujolais next? sorry about the jets!! i was hoping!! ron

  • mattgmann

Coke over pepsi, but RC cola above all

just had a Guigal E. St.-Joseph Vignes de l'Hospice 2003; was fantastic at $25, but last bottle in the shop. The '05 is out of my range at $85

French is my wine of choice.
    Champagne is my fav!!

I’ll have to agree. Not knowing much about them. Is an ipod a phone? Is an Ipad a phone? A local writer said it’s a that time of the month name. ARG!

  • brixforbrains

Coke is a no brainer. Pepsi is the poop.
Like the stemless glass around the house, especially with the dogs tail wandering.
Extrovert: Richard Simmons. What a trainwreck of a person. Funny stuff.
Introvert: Marlin Brando and Prince are a tie.

A lot of people just had St Joseph here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwzN4633mpI

Really bummed I can't squeeze in the Boston trip.

  • Nik_B

Loved the show.. I've been expanding into more Rhone wines in the last couple of years – I've only had a few from St Joseph. Cornas is definitely up there with my favourite places.

    QOTD1 – Coke

  • BethAD1017

I love French wines – gonna need to go out a get a couple bottles for the weekend. I have to admit I haven't experienced the St. Joseph, but I love big, hearty, steak-eating reds, so I think Sunday dinner is some beef and wine!

    Coke over Pepsi always!!!

QOTD: Extrovert – Definitely you Gary! Crazy funny and out there…
Introvert – that would be me…Mostly because I surprise the people who know me when I reveal that I'm an introvert at heart. I'm only comfortable and outgoing when I'm with friends – or having a few glasses of wine!

Thank you so much for bringing the under-rated and under-appreciated wines to our attention!

  • Hey Gary and friends!
Big fan of the Rhone valley, I go there on holiday almost every summer, I live in Belgium so it's only a 10 hour drive.

Listen, if you EVER want to know how to pronounce the name of some of the french or Italian or whatever wines correctly, I'd be happy to help you through e-mail.
Don't get me wrong, you crack me up sometimes, it's just that I thought that maybe you were curious 😉

Great show, as always. O and I know what it feels like when your team loses, I'm equally passionate about sports. Better next year!

  • vintner

    1. Don't drink 'em
    2. Never had a St. Joseph but if my wife was a varietal it would be Syrah; full bodied, spicey, gets better with time but meticulous care is a must!
    3. In-Carl Jung and Ex-Aleister Crowley

  • pinotpat

.there isn t anymore room in that office for any other egos.coke with real sugar

  • bt86

Great show, was meaning to get into some northern Rhones…

    Introvert: my brother
    Extrovert: Jim Carrey maybe?

  • Pirata Cofresi

    Hi there Gary!!

    Great show brother.

First of all my condolences on the Jets, I was going for them as well, just because I lived in NYC for a couple of years and never have been there or have any relations with Indiana, except for Indiana Jones!!

I have to be honest, I don't remember having a St. Joseph before, and if I did, must not have been that impressed by it. I will go today and by a couple of bottles to try. I tend to like Syrah in blends, not in 100%, the fruit is a little overpowering for my palate sometimes. The exception to that rule would have to be the 1998 Grange from Penfolds, and I believe it still has like 4 or 5 percent cab in it.

Coke or Pepsi is ok, don't drink soda most of the time, for Cuba Libres or Mentiritas, I prefer Coke.

QOTD The most liked extrovert has to be me of course! The most liked introvert probably Benicio del Toro.

What's with the little kid stemless glass? You're a big boy now!

  • Anonymous

You are right. After reading more I found the flaws I did not know
    about.

    Hi there brother!

I just started playing for fun with friends and family. Never gamble, but if I could do it for a living that would be cool. Any tips and how to better my game, and where do you play online if at all?

  • Are u trying to say Gary's fat?

    just kiddin' 😉

  • LarryFitz51

    Coke, never had St Joseph.

Congradulation on the Wine Enthusiast award.

extervert was easy Joe Willie Namath, no intervert

  • @GaryVee Thanks for the shout out to all of us bloggers. Without the inspiration you instill we'd not be drinking as much wine! The blog is definitely the best excuse I've had in a LONG time to drink (and buy) more wine. Thank You.

  • ilbee

    1. Neither, that stuff is not good for you. However back when I used to drink them I preferred Coke
    2. Never tasted St. Joseph but northern Rhone reds in general are some of the best wines there is, Côte Rotie being the personal favorite. Aussie Shiraz…yuck
    3. Will Ferrell & Napoleon Dynamite

  • tedmatelski

Great show, I will definitely be looking for those wines. My father is a huge Syrah fan and I would love to share a bottle with him. As for the questions…

    Pepsi

Never had St. Joseph, but am looking forward to it.

    extrovert – Brett Favre
    introvert – Johnny Depp

I guess I never really thought about that question, but put on the spot I came up with those. Great show. Cheers

  • Pirata Cofresi

Hey Gary how about a show on sicilian wines!

I would love to get your imput on Zisola, specially the Doppiozeta. I think you would love that wine, people don't know about it yet, very limited, can not find it locally and it's made with Nero d'Avola blended with Syrah and Cabernet Franc. I am sure you can allocate it. Had it when I visited the Mazzei family in Tuscany. Stayed with them for 3 days and met their enologist and the Marchese. They make the Fonterutoli wines, like Siepi, and the Castello, and also have properties in Maremma like their Tenuta Belguardo and near Noto in Sicilia where they make the Zisola. You HAVE to seek this out!

    Ciao!

  • Richie

Never had a St. Joseph before. But as soon as possible I will. Coke or Pepsi? Neither! I only drink Fritz Cola from Hamburg. Great stuff.
QOTD: Ex: That would be a run between you and Robin Williams.
In: My grandfather who past away 2 years ago.

  • Anonymous

Yea. The more I read the less good it sounds. Hopefully they will fix
a future model. Apple really let me down on this one.

Sent from my NSA brain implant.

Woody Allen, I guess he is introverted! It is hard to think of him as an introvert watching Deconstructing Harry, but I suppose your right. Anyone who writes that well must be introverted in some way. Good answers.

  • Anonymous

Nice! I like the addition of the Sugar Monster to the Oak Monster and the Butter Bandit. I think Gary should work the Sugar Monster into the show. I don?t know how he would differentiate between the two with his gesticulations, but I am sure he could figure it out.

  • Anonymous

Dave Matthews and Tim Renolds are probably the best acoustic Duo ever, amazing stuff if your a fan of Dave’s style. Live at Luther college, check it out.

  • Braden G

The Radio City blu-ray is sweet too – amazing sound.

  • pbarr

    Great show Gary,

Not a big soda drinker but I'd chose Pepsi over Coke.

Never had a St. Joseph, but I'm going to get one this weekend.

int: He never told me his name 🙂
ext: tie – Mr. Gary V. and Jim Cramer!!

  • fljohn

Great show on a very under talked reigon. I've tasted a few in my travels and loved them. I never see them in south florida wine shops. I will seek out. I like Pepsi much like I like Pinot over Cab. and Burgundy over Bordeaux but I do like a Dr. Pepper now and then like I like a Chateau neuf du pape now and then. I love all wine but like pepsi is to coke. I like my wine to finnesse me most of the time and blow my socks off once in a while. My favorite introvert is Huckelberry Seed (test your knowledge) My favorite extrovert is Robin Williams Love the show John Paris Nocera

  • roy josephson

fine show. however if i find a wine smells of pepper and pickle juice i'm gone. i enjoy those flavors in my food but it would ruin my wine.

  • peaceloveandpinstripes

I like them both a lot

I am my favorite extrovert and my wife is my favorite introvert we are polar opposites on that scale she is and 8 intro and I am an 8 extrovert

  • DCaragher

Gary – “He's BACK!” Great show, nice to see something a little unknown! Sweet moves! 2 L 2 Q!

    QOTD: COKE!
QOTD : I have had St. Joseph and I have a nice bottle of E. Guigal St. Josepg Hospice 2004 patiently waiting for me!
QOTD: Extrovert, I would say either Kanye (he's got heart, aside from the ego biz) or Axl (although he's a little of both). Introvert, I would say the late, great, Kurt Vonnegut! I loved that man and I didn't even know him!

  • GLrocks

Coke ! One thing I always dislike is the Ratings references Wine Spectator 92….
what does that really mean ? I hate the Wine Speculator and think Laube (I know he did not rate this wine) is full of crap. Just igve us your number Gary no need for the “other” ratings support

  • Hi laurieinvt…search on the forum is giving me no love…any chance you can post the URL for the particular forum thread you mentioned? Thanks much.

  • Duhhhhh

Added Extrovert FAVORITE: Randy “Macho Man” Savage

  • cellarrat5

I could not agree more. I have been playing for about 6 years now, and Greenstine is one of the all time great “introverted” players. Along with Phill Ivy, but his legendary status is enough antics to begin with. Antics piss me off! Fuc***g Phil Helmuthe or Mattisow, I know people that try and channel them at the table and I want to punch them in the mouth.

  • creativejuices

Great show. Very entertaining. Good to see the spring in your step/voice again. However, we would prefer to never see the stemless glass ever again.
It's going to have to be Pepsi over Coke (Vino over both)
St. Joseph needs more press–amazing juice.
QOTD: Favorite Extrovert-The Late Billy Mays (OxiClean Guy) He was always fun to watch.
    Favorite Introvert-My Father.

  • johncannata

I think at this point, people tell you they are a lurker just because. For the record, I'm a coke drinker. Much better than pepsi.

  • QOTD: of all time?
    Extrovert: Benny Hill
    Introvert: My lovey Mrs. BurroBoy

  • Just Jack

He may or may not be. He just always threw off that neurotic kind of introverted vibe to me. You know, the guy the neighbors say always kept to himself after they dig up the bodies in the back yard. That type of guy.
