line of the day – ‘we need a Mott cam’

Basically GV could say to Mott – ‘this smells like Bruce Willis’ arse on a Friday’ and Mott would reply – ‘Yeah I get that’. Here it’s ‘sardines’ that GV bowls out there and the Mottster picks it up immediately! Comedy value very high

Tom is a god. I love “Heart of Saturday Night” and “Heart Attack and Vine”. I saw him live in the eighties in a small club in Detroit. There were about ten guys and gals milling around the entrance to the club. they all had empty coffee cups. I was puzzled because it was 10 below out and there was no line to get in. I hung around awhile to see what was going on. After a bit, this mysterious shady looking fellow comes out of the alley next to the club and fills up every bodies cup with something out of bottle in a brown bag. I asked one of the guys who that was and he said “that’s Tom. We are his groupies and he gives us vodka for showing up. I never laughed so hard in my entire life. I doubt he still does that but he is quite the character.

    QOTD:

LIstening: Had a lapse back to my informative music years and picked out a band I always liked, and it was extreme. Finding neat stuff on youtube with them. One song in particular “Rest in Peace” has been stuck in my head for a week! I now need to download and burn a copy of some of their albums to listen to in the car. My current car doesnt have a tape player of course, and that is the medium I own of their albums 🙂 Nuno Bettencourt is such an awesome guitar player!! (Wow, ramble much)

(Image an almost indiscernible southern dignitary accent) Now I say to you son… (Takes a big sip of mint julep)… what about that Lincoln? Isn?t he just about the biggest pistol you ever seen? (Takes a monster drag from a cigar the size of a tree).

Cahors, I must investigate. I do like a good Malbec. The Mott cam is a must, but if the guy does not want to be in the limelight then I guess we should not shove him into it. Good show, loving the new regions, info and platitudes/metaphors.

(MLK deep booming voice) I have a dream, where no pallet will go unnoticed, no thirst for wine will go unquenched and the whole nation will join in the sniffy sniff. When I was a boy I grew up in a nation where everyone was not equal, where fine young men and women had to journey far and wide for a good bottle, but I see in our future unilateral declaration of wine the brings thunder to all our lives. We shall leave no bottle unfinished, no corkscrew unused and every glass will overflow with the brilliance of the wine we so enjoy.
