lines of the day – ‘Golden yellow; like if you drank a crap load of beers and haven’t been to the bathroom in a while’, and; ‘If you’re married you need to stay away from this wine, it’s very seductive’

GV’s prophecy that this week will be a phenomenal one for Wine Library TV whets the appetite…I can’t wait

    Go Canada!!!

  • mattgmann

If by Canadian wine you mean Molson, then yes, I've had plenty of it. I honestly never even thought of Canada producing wine. I live in Ohio…so it's not like that's a stretch. I'll try one next time I cross the border.

  • NY Pete

    she's beautiful Gary!

  • castello

    top ten!

  • MarkFitzpatrick

the ice wine must be great if Gary drank 64%…..

worst prediction was this years “who would be in the Super Bowl” — digg it up in that episode. it sucked

  • mattgmann

what was wrong with the other 36%

  • NY Pete

qotd: uh….every year when I predict Ohio State will win the National Title in football. Except for this year, they'll definitely win it this year.

  • that's an easy qotd. I thought I aced an economics final in college, and got a 56. Even my buddy who had no clue as to the exam (and whom i “tutored”) did better than me.

  • philoxera

    2002 Inniskillin IMO was superb

  • Usually not the biggest fan of Canada, but I went up there last week to check out the festivities… Funny that these two wines were from Ontario because I met this girl that hailed from Ontario. So, so nice and an absolute BUNNY!

QOTD: Had some on Thursday night. It was a cab blend from a bar. Interestingly, it tasted like a decent pinot. Really strange.

QOTD 2: My worst prediction, BY FAR, was the entire bowl season this past year. We had an office pool for all of the bowl games and I sucked something fierce…

  • NY Pete

QOTD … worse prediction … way back when … when the very first episode of WLTV was released … I said to myself, this show would never fly … true story.

  • Le_M

Loved the “canadian part of the world” bit.

QOTD: Switzerland winning the '94 world cup. Glad I was too young to bet.

  • gesticulador

QOTD: This was my worst prediction because I thought I was right for a while. Had 2 friends I thought would get married. They started dating, and then a year or two later, the guy started asking me for advice on how to propose, etc. Pretty soon they broke up and now live across the country from each other.

Also, most of my NCAA tournament brackets have been pretty bad.

  • FullOnNelson

Time to have a dessert wine head-to-head show. Port? Madeira? Sauternes? German Beerenauslese? I'm ready!

QOTD: Worst prediction EVER: My wedding vows from marriage #1. Why did I ever think that s**t could have lasted forever? Actually, I know the answer. Because I was young, naive and full of hope. πŸ™‚

    GARY!!!
Misha is gorgeous!! Watchn w/my Mom, she & I agree, Misha isnt just “cute”..she's beautiful…! I wanna bite her! <-in a good way! LOLOL

QOTD: worst prediction the past year is personal – had to do w/myself & a man I know.

Thnx for a great show Gary!

  • castello

I had a Canadian icewine years ago and loved it. Pretty pricey and proly worth it but the sweet wines are not my bag lately.
I thought John Kerry would blah blah blah…
Do you agree with some of the bashers from the Gruveee episode that those wines were tired also?

  • carlo10

    hello everyone!

  • Hey Gary

Good show, good wines and GOOD WIN IN THE HOCKEY Canada. I've actually drunk a few Canadian wines and have enjoyed them; a couple ice wines, a Merlot and a Riesling (I think).

QOTD: worst prediction? Race 4, Horse 4, $40 to win at Happy Valley HK's inn er city racecourse. 4 is an 'unlucky' number in Chinese so I figure I'll get better odds. Every week I put HK$40 on horse number 4 in race 4 to win and every week I win nothing…

    Cheers
    Andrew

Good energy today. I love that on a Monday.

QOTD:Worst prediction was that I would never “get into wine”….now I am obsessed, thanks alot GV…;)

  • carlo10

it scares me that gary even has the idea of stopping WLTV

  • plcb

PA sells both Malivoire and Inniskilin. Malivoire produces many varietals.
QOTD1: Haven't tasted any Canadian wine.
QOTD2: I hear crickets. Nothing comes to mind right now.

  • gdeciantis

Thanks Gary for the Canadian love.

    Not had canadian wine….yet.
Worst prediction… Tough I pride myself on my predictions and have a talent for forgetting things I predict wrong.
I thought El Floridita restaurant near my house was going to be more expensive than it was.
    Great latin place.

  • carlo10

Side Question: no canadian wine for carlo : (

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA HUGE misconception of Denver weather. everyone out there keep thinking denver is cold and snowy…what is the sunniest city in the country?

  • Jay

Was this episode compressed more than usual? Seeing significant compression artifacting.

  • johnr

Very nice!!!!!! if you do VA tech, you should roll down to the NC cindy's!!!

  • mattgmann

I was disappointed the US didn't win hockey gold…..but I think I was more bothered that Canada won.

  • RJaeger

How could you even think about “hanging up the gloves” after a bad show?? That's crazy talk. Here from the CKC, I'm enrolled in a Sensory Evaluation of Wines class at Iowa State University. Any student in any major can take it, so the CKC is gaining knowledge more so than some of those old fogies!

I have never had a Canadian wine…I'm from Chicago, which is great (Binny's, Sam's, etc.), but here in the middle of Iowa there isn't the greatest wine variety. Although, there are some local wineries attempting to grow those cold-hardy grapes.

  • carlo10

QOTD: i predicted that after four years of college i would get a job hahahahahahaha

  • carlo10

i swear that every time you are confident coming out of a test you fail.

  • Chilemily

I've never tried a canadian wine, but definitely would like to. I like trying a lot of different wines and am never afraid to get out of my wine box!

On another note, I am living in Chile and I really liked that you mentioned the earthquake. I think another show on Chilean wine would be really fitting and it would highlight a lot of good from this country even though so many people are going through an awful time. Maybe picking wines from Colchagua, CuricΓ³, and Maule Valleys would be fitting given they are so close to the epicenter.

QOTD: Not really sure, I'm not much of a predictor. Although since I didn't have a clear idea of how bad the quake was when it struck, I didn't think it was as bad as it really was. But that's not much of a prediction.

  • M_Woolley

I remember as if it were yesterday:: When are they ever going to bring up this new guy? Probably never and he won't amount to anything anyway. That Guy?……………Derek Jeter

  • Kayla28

Great show gary…Thanks sharing little Misha's picture with us… she is beautiful!! Please dont quit the show ur show is amazing and so r u.

QOTD: I have never had a canadian wine.
QOTD:Worst prediction, cant think of one…lol…sorry!
