  • Nice to switch it up every now and then with a quickie, Gary. QOTD: What goes in paper bags? Well, the obvious choice might be a 22 of your favorite beer (or a 40 if you're hardcore), but I think wine works especially well. Actually this past Saturday we had a beautiful sunny day here in Seattle, so my lady & I had a picnic in Volunteer Park with a little Vinho Verde & Touraine action, discreetly wrapped in brown paper bags. Perfect.

    QotD: if you live in NYC, nothing like getting a cold beer at a deli in the summer and they put it in a small “beer can” sized brown paper bag. It's a good thing.

    On the other wines throughout the week, you shouldn't get to know the varietal. Maybe some stump GV action. Who knows what you might find in your paper bag? Chateau Margaux? Boone's Farm?

    Good thing I dont blink while watching WLTV, I would have missed half of this one. I kind of like the new format, just please dont make this a trend. I'll have to start digging into the archives to fully satisfy my WLTV fix.

  • But I like the 7 hour epic episode! I want to see GaryVee star in a 7 hour winelibrarytv show filmed in Japan and titled: Wine Shogun… or maybe have an evil Italian nemesis track GV down in Toyko and name it Wine Ninja: Barolo Battle! Or was that a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle episode already?

    But really….a 28 bone Austrian? Is there a big market for that? I can't imagine what planet exists where people pay that much for an Austrian Riesling….cuz it ain't in America, and it certainly ain't in America during a recession when there are mega-tons of good wine deals on stellar wines…. Sorry, don't mean to piss off the Vienna Boys Choir, but you know its true!

    Nice show. Short, sweet (wine, too). Maybe a hair too short, and would like more comparative blind tastings, instead of one-offs, but this is cool.

    QOTD: Peaches. Nothing like a brown paper bag to ripen up the summer's best fruit.

    One of the best QPR episodes in a llllloooooooooooooonnngggggggggggggggggggggg time (content/duration).

    Gary's at his best when he's one-on-one with the viewer and where he doesn't have to compete with a guest for air-time.
