  • Dude you’ve been doing it for like the last 10 episodes…. Same shirt or eerily similar shirts. No one has noticed until now?

  • Allan

GV is a force of nature!

  • Allan

    Nice!

The Horror! Nice Apocalypse action there!

Mouton can be nice, i think!!!?????? ; )

  • Hate to say it, but I know what he’s talking about. You can amplify the smell if you get too tanked on drinks made that are heavy on tabasco.

    MERLOWWWW IS COOOOOOOOLER!

  • Anonymous

That could be the worst tasting note I’ve ever heard.

  • KCity

Good to finally see you back!!! Go Canucks

  • Dominic C.

I'm quite confused, but someone said that GV is starting to burn out? Well, one of the bloggers.

  • Welcome back!

  • Krunch

    Nice to see you back,

  • Allan

    Top 5!

  • Lb_in_KS

Burnt Vomit! Not exactly the date night wine you want to pull out, huh?
    qotd…jet lag maybe?

  • Allan

    G'day Mate!!!

    And Mott is Back!!! COOOOOL!!!

    hey Gary
After many months of not watching the Thunder Show….what with buying my first house and spending many hours decorating…Im back.
As always enjoying the content. Watching a few past episodes…and as Im now sitting my Advanced WSET (after getting a distinction in the itermediate with a help from you) I thought that this would run alongside my curriuclar reading. Though in fairness the analogies that you use make far more sense to me than the mundane ones Im having to read about.

Hope all is well with you and the family…take care

  • Can someone inform me the reason behind wearing the same shirt for each episode as of late?

  • kasperhip

Welcome back, Gary! What an awesome return from Australia.

QOTD: Never thought I'd say this, but with your palate changing and all, I figure what you might be missing on that last wine is…..the Oak? Naaaah! Some barnyard flavours maybe? Or maybe even the dreaded rusty nail?

  • Allan

Vayniacs check out the M3 Chardonnay by Shaw & Smith,,,, To die for!!!

  • Jay B.

Your killing me with the “burnt vomit.” How the F do you know what that smells like? I don't want to know. LOL. I am not a fan of Aussie wine due to the fruit bomb, but I may have to revisit some of them. I will have to try the Shaw and Smith. Great to have you back, I was like a junkie looking for a fix the last couple of days.

  • You whispering into the camera is the scariest thing in WLTV History!!

  • kathy hughes

QOTD: Is it not vegetal and earthy enough for you ? Best from Naples Kathy aka Champagne Lady

  • Allan

    You're an idiot Gary! ; )

    Nice Comedy action!!!

  • Been WAY too long…. Good show.

  • norcalwingman

    Gary,
I think it's that HUGE glass that's holding you back! BTW, LT on the J-E-T-S? Damn Superboltz are crazy for giving him up. Cheers.

Gary, or anyone who knows, how does the Shaw and Smith compare fruit bomb wise against the pre-sale you have for the 2006 Kangarilla Road Shiraz?

  • Refined Aussie wine to try would be any of the Dalwhinnie range from Victoria. Amazing stuff, their Chardonnay's heavily oaked but done well if you like a little shoulder of oak monster but they have great shiraz and cabernets.

  • Allan

    Also try their M3 Chardonnay!

  • seemster

Gary: You are holding back because you do not want to return from your Down Under excursion dreamy-eyed and romantically consumed by the promise of Australia's grapes. But, hey, you live for the vegetal, bombastic nose/silky-smooth balanced mouth wines (and now the oak monster-esque chards), so rate accordingly.

Btw – You sold me on the Shaw/Smith Shiraz.

  • Allan

    Great Show G!

    Lovin' it!

Qotd: It's too expensive!?!?? No QPR?

  • mattgmann

disappointed to only see one wine under $30

  • DmitriEn

    mmmm burnt vomit 🙂

    QOTD: expectations

  • never 🙂

  • I changed that!

  • well it reminds me of high school parties, you know on the side of the home, vomit and cigs!

  • And BEST!

  • 😉

  • mattgmann

smokey vomit……noice……reminds me of the smell of the couch in our college party pad.

  • Pinot IS Cool

  • S and S is a calmer version with a tad less fruit and a little less oak

  • I love u for being here and commenting !

really good show gary, really good show. i am going to the states in 2 weeks and you have me curious to search out some old school aussi wine. sounds like an oxymoron. anyhow, good times.
cork'd – went on today to drop a note in on a jo pithon wine i opened yesterday…. really good stuff. i like that there is some reading material on there now. it almost looks like a blog rather than a note finder…. why the fuck not , right? it took me sec to navigate, but it all worked out.
qotd – your trousers are holding you back!
BTW – LOL about the MW comment! fucking funny!

  • Well, ya got the balls to tough it out this long, you’ll probably be doing this show recorded through video on a low quality phone cam.

Anyhow, QotD: You came back to the butter bandit, need I say more? hehe

  • smiledoc

Love your show, good day mate, love it! QOTD: Tannin?

  • jaybloxham

Thanks Gary! Well I guess I have to order a couple of bottle of the s&s

  • smiledoc

    thanks for that!

  • DmitriEn

Hmm 2000 white…I wonder whether not expensive white wines can age so well…doubt it.

  • jaybloxham
