    there is never a need to apologize if you don't like the wine, it may just save me from the same mistake. I never was a fan of malbec, I keep trying them but none has ever WOW'd me. Keep up the great brown bag shows, they're the best. Good or bad wine, its never influenced by a label if in a brown bag.

    QOTD: Don't have a Malbec favourite, have had to few to select one.

    don't feel too bad, you didn't make the wine, or pick them from stock, of course you did have to put them in your mouth…
    QOTD: Have to say that AVE Malbec that WLTV was hawking a while back…Italians in Argentina…great new fruit, but came across as really old world. A distributor I know here in VT wanted to know where the hell I got a hold of it.

    Great week of brown bags, even if they were all duds. Never apoligize for giving your honest opinion, what you think is what you think. That transparency is why you are where you are today. Keep the brown bags coming.
    QOTD- I have never found a Malbec that Wow'd me, and I have tried some that should have. Not a fan until I enjoy one. No favorite yet.

    These brown bag challenges have turned out to be pretty sad. GV – the 82 point score today against 90 pts….that's a pretty huge difference and seems to be more than just palettes. Is there a difference in tasting process that could lead to it? Decanting or something else?

    QOTD — not thrilled by Malbecs, esp from S. Am. A few Cahors have been ok — keep it as a blending grape!

  • Wow Gary! Malbecs ending up a rough week on wine. I used to love Malbec but I haven't had one that really flipped my lid lately, there is a Mendoza Argentine malbec called Diseno, that we routinely buy. It is what it is, 10 dollar juice, tasty, but nothing to write home about. I'd give it a big old Wesley Walker.

    Malbec…..I got burned last week because I've been dogging Malbecs. Tried an 08 high note elevated malbec that was both cheap and delicious.

    I know you are ready for a good tasting but I love to hear about the bad wines too. It saves me money!!! You should be proud… I have been one of those “lurkers” up until now!! Have a great weekend and I would love to know what you think about Chianti's!! It is one of my favorite varietals.

    QOTD: If I am going Malbec I stay cheap. I like the Alamos for the price. I can get it all day long for 7.49 and its a hard one to beat for the price. It is consistently good and wicked cheap.
