  • mattgmann

Didn't even notice it was a charles smith wine. Someone left it at my house last week, and I got some premo black market cheese yesterday……..

I feel like I'm missing something here

  • mattgmann

QOTD: some local young cheddar a guy makes down the road from me. Freaking premo stuff. Raw grassfed milk, wonderful texture.

As for marketed cheese….hard to say. Right now I'm on a quest for the best chevre style goat cheese.

  • Allan

I've never tried it, well i've never tried any of K-Vintners wines, and i'm a little ashamed 'bout it, has to be said!

Sounds cool 'bout da cheesy! Sax on!

  • mattgmann

i've heard quite a bit about the k-vitners, but never had one before this. Not sure what the price point is, but if it's under $15-20 it's a big win.

  • Allan

Blue cheese with a top Sauterne is not to be missed in this life!

Hi, Gary… I always watch the WLTV programs, and enjoyed a lot! I am brazilian and I think you could try some merlot and sparkling wines from Brazil … You'd be surprised!

By the way, BRAZIL will be the world champion soccer this year!!!

  • johnfarrin

QOTD: While on a good day I might approach wine geekdom I'll probably never approach cheese geekdom. Don't get me wrong I like it, but, with my cholesterol levels a lot of cheese is tantamount to playing Russian Roulette. I like St. Andre triple cream brie. Comte and Shropeshire, Maytag and Stilton.

  • Allan

YEAHHHH! Sparkling wine from Brazil are amazing! And you can quote me on that one!!

    Brazil eh, maybe ; )

    hopefully!

GV and Justin, I love cheese! Good show, I like the cheese knowledge, always amazes me how much some people know about cheese!

QOTD: Do you have any goats mile Tomes (I think that is what it's called)?

  • Charlotte_DK

MORE MORE MORE. Wine and cheese- my absolute favorite things. But need to learn a lot more about these fantastic things and how they go together. Put Justin on the show soon again please. Cool guy. Epoisse, Neufchâtel (can't buy it in Denmark though), Roquefort and Fourme d'ambert. My favorite pairing is blue cheese and dessert wine. Could be cool to know if anyone is a bit more inventive and got some nice pairings to try out

  • Allan

    Endnu en danske? Velkommen til!

    Hvor kommer du så fra?

  • guymandude

That was cool to have Justin on, need more parings.

  • yacochuya

GV….you really think South Africa will win the world cup?! While I will be rooting for the home team, I think the Jets have about the same chances of winning it. I will be going with my daughter to see some games as well as to the Stellenbosch wine festival. Hoping for a Brasil-Argentina Final. Look for us at the USA-Slovenia game and Portugal-Brasil game as well as R16 game in Jo'burg (Hopefully Argentina V Mexico) and then quarterfinal in Capetown. Really stoked, and daughter is just as excited as me. Would love to meet others if they are going.

  • b777capt

    Interesting show.

QOTD: You have to try Ewephoria, a sheep's milk cheese from Holland (?) i think

Hey Gary, this show was very gouda. QOTD: Goat Cheese!!!

  • waynooo

Just wish that South African Vino woulda been “gouda”………. :O)

  • winecrazy

That was very cheeezy show. So the wine was cork'd.com eh…!!!!

    🙂

  • dann_in_nh

Great show, really enjoyed learning how nerdy one can be with cheeses.
Did anyone see GV's article in the recent Decanter ??
    QOTD: Want a good swiss

  • jeffg

Nice idea for the show, cheeses sounded great… wine pairings were not so great… cheese is harder than other food to pair… but lots of fun.

QOTD: Too many great cheeses out there to mention. Current passion is Délice d'Argental. Love those smooth triple creams!

  • Mike S.

I am a huge Justin fan. I've watched all the Gourmet Library videos and have learned a great deal from him. Thanks Gary Vee the pairing lesson. You and Justin together made a great episode.

  • Thanks for bringing the cheese guru on! My wife and I are looking at starting a little farm with either a cow or goat and maybe learn how to make our own cheese and other products. Thanks!

  • Love the cheese pairing episodes especially with your knowledgeable BIL. Keep it all in the family. 🙂

QOTD #1: No matter where I go, friends or family, especially to ones who know me, they have a wheel of some sort of brie waiting for me. I love the stuff and, of course, I bring the wine to pair with it. I need to order some of the last cheese.

    QOTD #1a: Germany

    Cheers!

  • srdonjulio

QOTD: a good chevre with crusty bread… just because by kids enjoy it so well and it's fun to share and appreciate little things like that with my family. Go Raidahs!

  • zrm

Wow gary you were right. I LOVE CHEESE!!! these pairing episodes are amazing!

QOD: I worship at the alter of Manchego. I am also a huge smoked gouda fan

  • WC 2010

Holland will wine the world cup!!!

  • Jay

Cool episode. Just two guys hanging out, enjoying & reviewing some cheese 'n' wine. You guys appear to get along well, which is awesome for brothers-in-law 🙂

Question: Will we see that corked wine again, reviewed in non-corked form?

  • pawncop

Really enjoyed this episode. So very sorry to see the Southern Right was corked. It is one of my favorite Sauvignon Blanc's outside of New Zealand.

QOTD – Am also very much a neophyte when it comes to pairing wine and cheese. Still very much enjoy the entry level cheeses (cheesi?) One of my favorites was found at Costco, Yancy's Fancy Cheeses, I believe they are out of New York.

  • Bill

Sorry, but when you do cheeese you need to have Everett on the show. Justin seems like a nice guy, but based on his reviews on Gourmet Library, he's obviously little more than a cheese noob.

qotd: Into all Rogue Creamery's blue cheeses.

  • Before I finish watching this episode I would like to say…GO IOWA!!! ^Iowa Resident
