    You rock waynoooooo, you should be on DA SHOW!!!! !!!! !!!! !!! ! ! ! ! ! !! !

  • side QOTD – GV/CM – 65%/35%

QOTD – Similar to Port, I like to always have a good dessert wine on hand, as you never really know when you will have the right people and situation to break it out.

  • Allan

    YO G!

Waynoooo needs to get a shout out on your next show, he deserves it! because he's awesome!!!

  • Not bad for a Friday show. QOTD: GV: 25%, CM: 30%, SV: 40% 😉 QOTD2: Desert Wine.

    QOTD:
I buy and drink what I like. I dont think I have a “one and a while” wine. If I want it I always have it and I drink it.
QOTD2: Its mostly you Gary– lets be honest.

  • laurieinvt

Fun- Colin is a great guest! GV/Mott ratio- that's like asking that same question about Burns and Allen- can't be answered!
I just realized the bulk of the Vayniacs will have no idea what I'm referring to- substitute Stewie and Brian or Beavis and Butthead or Kyle and Cartman and you'll get the drift. Sad that there aren't any human comedy teams anymore. *sigh* I think I just felt another hair go gray…
    QOTD: Champagne

  • cellarrat5

I am super late on this QOTD, I am sure everyone besides Allan and Waynooo have forgotten about this ep. Oh well, I am going to answer it anyway.

QOTD 1: 50% Mott 50% GV. (If I had met these two gentelmen I might have a better idea of who I like more, but from an outsiders perspective could there be day without night, or Life without water or wine?)

QOTD 2: I am a sucker for a good Napa Cab every once and a while, also a really good Pinot is something I seek out for a special occation. And I always have my scotch as a once and a while stand by.

  • waynooo daaa wino

WS 92 rating was May 2005. WS previously rated 91 in Dec. '99 and July '94. So this rating is not that old.

  • laurieinvt

George Burns and Gracie Allen- which indicates that I am pretty much a cultural dinosaur. Hence the substitute analogies offered.
    But yes, the Vayniacs ROCK!!!

  • Well , the view of the passage is totally correct ,your details is really reasonable and you guy give us valuable informative post, I totally agree the standpoint of upstairs. I often surfing on this forum when I m free and I find there are so much good information we can learn in this forum!Against-Myself

  • I'd have to say that it's an 80/20 split in the show. Bu t some of the best episodes are when it's heavy on the Mott.

Question of the day… My occasional wine is also a port from acadia winery in new York. Been drinking it probably once or twice a year since college and dig the ashiness of it.

  • merge

just a little thing maybe because you mentioned it: I totally prefer the flash version of the video in that case. You provide html5 video which is very nice. But you provide it only to people who use non-free software to access the internet. That is because you use H264 video inside the <video> tag (with an additional flash fallback, fortunately).

Since only free and open standards are able to survive on the web and you _do_ seem to care, I only would be more than happy to just make you recognize that. Nothing more. I know it's completely off topic and I feel a little bad not writing that I enjoy your wine reviews which I do 🙂

  • Now let me just say…that show was awesome! Colin Devroe is the man. Gary, you and Colin make a good duo on WLTV. He makes you seem shy LOL. Great show, though. In regards to the side question….Mott puts the BAM in WLTV.

  • arpster

Great show, Gary and Colin. Looking for a Trinchero Family Zin Port. Had it years ago (cigar in hand) and it is just a gorgeous little port. It's mentioned here http://www.snooth.com/wine/trinchero-zinfandel-… but it is nowhere to be found.

  • Raul Nobrega Matos

It's the second time i writh just to say a litle big secret: the best combination with a cigar ( the sweetness of a cuban ) is……. an Old Madeira Wine ( because the acidity of the wine ). It's rare but you must try from Madeira Wine Company, the Boal 1964 or 1977 , just an example. If you come to portugal, then you must try, also from Madeira, Malvasia 1869. It's a real pleasure.

  • chukheadted

MOTT is essential to WLTV's success!

QOTD–sauternes every once in a while

  • Allan

    Where is the Thunder? ?

  • waynooo daaa wino

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ssutcher

I happen to love to death the fact that you are using HTML5. I love watching the show on the go with my ipad.

I wish that you would convert more of your older episodes to QuickTime. I've been trying to watch some of them lately but haven't been able to because of their flash format.

Great show today. Tasted a late harvest reisling in Alsace last week that really blew my mind.

  • NY Pete

glad to see I only missed 1 show while out of town …
QOTD … champagne … and Mott rules.
    now where's some new thunder??????

  • Randall

You must have SUPER X-RAY VISION!!!!!!!!!

  • Randall

    “I wants my… I wants my… I wants my WL TeeeVeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!”
    (Dire Straight[to the Thunder Show]s)
    p.s. Allan & Waynooo Da Aaaaaaaddddddddiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccccccttttttttttteeeeedddddddd Winoooooooo… 🙂 Don't Worry, Be Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes we need a Shasha show.

  • Anonymous

Jeg blev færdig med mit speciale….jeg brugte WLTV som overspringshandling BIG TIME!

  • Hey Boys

Great Show. Colin is a pretty cool bloke who handled that whole show really well. It was fantastic seeing a guest who was honest and happy to be himself, rather than worrying about big noting himself or trying to sell something (don't worry Gary, I don't think all your guest are like that you get some pretty cool people on).

QOTD: Great question and dessert style wines woule have to be top of the list. I'm also not the biggest fan of sparkling wine, but when I'm in the mood really love it. If you were talking about all drinks, rather than just wine I'd probably say a single-malt; I love them, but certainly don't feel like them everyday.

Oh and Gary 49.99% Mot 50.01%

    Cheers
    Andrew

  • waynooo daaa wino

    Happy, Haaaaappy, Haaaaaaaaaapppppyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    :O) ;O) :O)

  • I hear you Laurieinvt: Tim Conway and CAROL BRUNET? Miss the great “HUMAN” teams as well.

  • waynooo daaa wino

    More like a Good Guesser…..??……. ;O)

  • Don Simpson

    MOTT!!!!!

QOTD: Chardonnay – For whatever reason it just does not hit my palate right, but I find myself going back and trying Chardonnay from different parts of the world.

  • justinstewartiu

I agree with you here on the QOTD. I have just started getting into sparkling wines lately. I like them, but not enough to want to drink them as often as I do a full bodied red.

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

Glen, Monte #5’s are great with some age. I tend to lean toward Party Shorts or Por Larranaga PC’s. Maybe we can catch up over a smoke on 7/10.

    Ray

  • justinstewartiu

Loved the show guys. Another great guest… 2 shows in a row. I love seeing true vayniaks on the show. I'm not a huge port fan, but I love learning as much about wine as I can so it is always great to gain a little more knowledge on wine topics that I am not yet well versed.

QOTD: Reisling is the wine that I can only do occasionally. I know Gary has had a few episodes in the past where he has found some more dry reislings, but for the most part they are just too sweet for me. However, sometimes this is exactly what I am looking for.

  • justinstewartiu

Oh I almost forgot… Mott rules. I know you have talked about the Mott cam over your shoulder Gary. We would love to see this happen. Just to get the Mott response when you slide that glass to the front of the table out to Mott. 60/40…. I've got to go with Mott. Especially when he zooms in on the brown paper bag!!!!!

  • justinstewartiu

give it time nitaT… Mott will grow on you

  • cellarrat5

    Word.

If anyone is interested there is a good little article on our host with the most in the New Yorker, if anyone has not read it yet:

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

    Need….new….episode…..

  • Les Hubbard

Although GV touched on some of the ingrediants for properly enjoying Port as explained by Winston Churchill, you guys missed a few. So here goes. First, the gentlemen adjourn to a library in their formal attire to enjoy Port without their female companions. Second, they will seat themselves in leather chairs and enjoy roasted walnuts to accompany sips of Port. Third, you light up a good Cuban cigar. I'd count you at batting about .500, not bad. Great show.

  • castello

    Agree with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • johnfarrin

The mob seems to be restless for a new ep. You better feed the beast 🙂

  • waynooo daaa wino

Da “Beast” is NOT only starvin', He done fell asleeeep……ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz…….
    ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz…..ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz….ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz……………..

  • cellarrat5

Yes… Quite… Indubitably… And any other terms British gentry might have used at one point.

  • cellarrat5

Yeah, lions Tigers and Bears aside, its Wednesday. I know it was a holiday weekend G, and I am sure you have a plate that is more packed than Michael Moors at an all-you-can-eat buffet; but come on, make with the WLTV already 😉
