Gary — Here is a fun idea for you next week. How about doing another show where you taste the same wine from 2 or 3 different vintages? I would really like to get your thoughts on the following 2 wines. I rated one of them 96 points and the other 89 points. It was an eye opening experience for me that one was PHENOMENAL and the other one just plain good. I'm very interested to see if you have similar results.
2007 Henri Bourgeois – Les Bonnes Bouches Sancerre 2008 Henri Bourgeois – Les Bonnes Bouches Sancerre
Have a great week Gary, Mott, and Vayniacs!!!

Can you review some Priorat next week? Thanks!

Enjoy my time away from Wine Library TV???…… Hmm…… the words seem to form a sentence, but I simply don't grasp the meaning…….
Hope everything turns out ok. An ominous tone there…….

My vote goes for next week – ALL BLIND!!!!
Sonoma M@
ALBINI FAMILY VINEYARDS MERLOT RUSSIAN RIVER , any recent vintage, you can find it in NYC. Their a small family producer (500 cases) who have kept it real for the past 20 years. Not raising prices with everyone else, natural yeasts, hand done, how it should be!

Dude, have your dad and Mot fill in! It would be your most popular show EVER!
I had a Lombardi Veltellina Superior actually 3 all unbelievable but the reserve blew my mind… If you get any superiors ( I know there are only 5 villages but these I here are the ones the Italians put on a pedestal and keep for themselves mostly;-) ping, I'm on 'em like white on rice.

Since I'm visiting to Sonoma this fall, anything from there would be great. Hey, there's an idea… how about a series of shows from a particular wine producing region? You could even focus on local restaurants at the same time.
Definitely time to have some crazy high end wines on here! It's been a long time, I think. Opus, Penfolds Grange, (Petrussssss?) whatever it may be. Go BIG!! Our week off deserves it.
TOTALLY agree with erikwait! Pops and Mot!!!!! EPIC.

TCB Brother….we'll be here.

Hey gary, no problem dude, time to revisit some past shows.
I really whant to see Some Chateau du Beaucastel Vs Some Tablas Creek or something like this. new world vs old world from the same producer or winemaker.
cheers

Hi Gary!! Please taste the late harvest Tannat. I'm very curious. Regards!

Hope to see you next week — re: show suggestions, how about 3 interesting sparklers for under $20 that aren't proseccos or cavas? or some Santorini whites?
Jonathan Alfaro
I'd really like you to try a Denner (paso robles) red wine. In the past, you've only reviewed one of their whites, so a review of one or more of their reds would be in order. I really enjoy their wines and would like to get your thoughts.
If you can't do a Denner review, then I think a free shipping offer is in order on wines of our choice. You have to make up for your prolonged absence! It's not our fault you got us hooked on changing the wine world!!! π
Cubatobaco (Ray)
Hope every thing is cool, bro! We'll be ready next week for sure.
Last time we went this long they had to rush me to the hospital, but the meds can help me cope..lol.
I say do some high(er) end Bdx's (or big boys like mentioned by The Winedown) or go for the “nerdy” wines. Maybe some Petit Syrah. Just a thought…

Gary:
I'd rather this sort of thing than a phoned-in wine-lib episode any day. Thanks for the heads-up. Keep your head-up. We all know the economy hasn't been the best thing for retail (wine or otherwise!).
ROCK ON!

Everyone deserves a break – well-earned, GV, and too bad it's not more for purposes of R&R. I think many forget that yes, you run a large business too! π
Would love Napanook reviewed, as it's an affordable price-point from Dominus, so curious to see if it is a real value or not at around $45.

Don't sweat it, dude. Do what you gotta do. We'll still be here next week. I just got back from a family gathering in Virginia. There are some serious wines being produced there that I had the opportunity to taste, including a wickedly good 2008 Verdejo from Keswick Vineyards in Monticello. Yum! Can any of the Vayniacs tell me whether or not there's been a show on Virginia wines?
angelatcarslon
Sigh! Hope things work out dude, looking forward to next week.
How about a German Trocken Sparklers show? Bubbles & Riesling, how can you go wrong? : )

Too bad it looks like the haitus is due to biz and not St Bart's with Lizzy………….
Pssssssstt… Mott, go for it, don't tell Gary i told you so…… π

KM will fill in. Keep crushing it!

Right on!

And the winner is…… :0)
waynoooooooo!!!!!
Is that a first first?

I like it. Not your absence, of course, but how you touched base and got us your message to your adoring fan base. Forty-five seconds of communication goes a loooong way. I'm taking notes. Hope you and Brandon knock it out, and you come back with some serious thunder.
Spain or Italy(esp. Tuscan) wines. Don't work to hard this week!
Mark
Gary – I would like to see you do an episode where you compare traditional decanting vs products like the Vinturi.
Phil Anderson
Yeah, I have a couple of wines for you to taste: George Sonoma Coma Pinot Noir and Madeleine Angevine from Washingtons Puget Sound AVA. : )

Ya know, Gary, even the late show had guests replace the star when he was gone. Maybe you need to search for a couple of folks that could step in and give us a little different spin, but still WLTV. Just a thought. Mott could do one. I know you have other personalities close by. Wines I'd like not to see: Pinot Noir and Merlot – tired of them. wines I'd like to see: Albarino, blends like Meritage, Petit Verdot, …
AllanJonassen
The 06 Napanook was reviewed in ep #778.
guymandude
Do what ya gotta do. Thanks for everything.

P.S. nice to see you have a serious job and not letting Sasha do all the heavy lifting.
