    UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tflangan

GV – Nice to hear it's not all peaches & cream. The real world sometimes sidetracks us from our pleasures. I look forward to more WLTV next week. Thanks for all the insight you've given us all thus far.

First off, LOVE the past couple weeks of shows. Even liked the Soprano's episode.

Would love to see some shows around BBQ wines. Also would be interested in a “lobster wine” show. Lastly, maybe another Portugal wine episode- still very high on that area myself, and it has been a while since you have done that.

  • Maybe taste some Santa Julia wines — organic producer around $10 bones. Make a Malbec, Cab Sauv., and I think a Merlot….Curious as to what you think.

  • cellarrat5

Glad you let us know. Taking a week off to take care of business was a better idea than rushing through a weeks worth of shows in 30 minutes.

pseudo QOTD: I think you have recently did a Barolo show, but you should do another one. Call it Baller Barolo's- 50 and up, Mattgman will love it; and most importantly it sounds cool.

  • NY Pete

    what is going on?
    where's SS Chris?
KaD … insert it here …

  • Jaybird76

I forgot to put down the wine earlier, 2001 Vinicola Nera Grumello riserva DOCG

  • Brad B.

I recommend Kmurph stepping in for a few shows this week.

  • I'm doing a blind Cabernet tasting in my store this weekend, so why don't you try some cabs like:
    Little Lion “Volunteer” 2007
    Mondavi Napa 2006
    BV Rutherford 2006
    Orin Swift Papillon 2007

  • Well, hope all the “serious” biz stuff is ok. I'll miss WLTV this week.

Hmmm…I'm with some of the other suggestions on Priorat or Sancerre. Maybe something out there…people mentioned Lambrusco on the recent bubbly episode. Vinho Verde, Torrontes…too many choices.

  • redrider21

    Priorat Show!!!!!!!

  • Lizzy 43

Thanks for taking the time to let us know, you will be missed. :O) I would love for a tasting of wines from the Barossa Valley/Eden Valley/ Clare Valley. Love to learn more about that. Had a great Colonial Estate wine offered on Cindy a week or so back, delicious!! Came by the temple last week at the open house and Chris directed me toward some other ones from Barossa. Excellent, although the Colonial Estate rocked, wish I had gotten more of that. :O)

  • ONUMello

Thanks for the update… sucks but work before play! I'll make the suggestion again I have a few times before: we've not yet had an episode of wines made from grapes indigenous to the US such as Catawba, Concord, Niagara, Delaware, etc!

  • smiledoc

    No worries, life goes on….thanks

  • David M Roberts

Thanks for pointing that out, Allan! And… my question was answered. Gary is THAT good – he anticipated my question months ago, or… he has a time machine, got himself about 21.1 giggawatts via a lightning storm, pulled a “Back to the Future” and taped an episode just so he appears to be that on top of things! The guy is truly amazing.

  • njc2o

the week before the bar exam and you bail on me? jesus gary you better not jinx this shit

  • Doug

Thanks for the warning about no shows this week. Next week let's get your take on the much-hyped '07 California Cabs!

  • Take a break babe. It's all good.

  • Eli

Taste some Greek wines! At a tasting you did a year ago, someone asked you what the next big wine region would be, and you said Greece. So I've had a bunch lately, including a great bottle at Terroir in NYC, and they were all shockingly good.

  • gary might lose his job if that happens

  • waynooo daaa wino

    whaazz goin' on ???

  • Eli

KMurph should fill in for you. I agree with the other posters!

  • laurieinvt

    :/ Do whatcha gotta do.
For next week, I'm thinking it's been awhile since an Albarino ep, and PV is always interesting.

  • Hey it's all good. Just got in from a 10 Day Wine tasting Road Trip of Central and Northern Calif. Had a Taste of Beringer Reserve Cab @ $115.00 a bottle! Can't see this price for me.
GV in Napa Valley was some of the Best. The Wine Maker & his Wife were the Best! CRS-Should of taken Notes!

  • laurieinvt

I just checked the archives, and neither Albarino nor PV have been done blind….

  • Jparadisee

    Kmurph Do it!!!

And taste me some good Cotes Du Rhones under $25 please, thank you, that is all. 🙂

  • Alright bro, you asked for it. It looks like I will make it to the Lib in time for the taping next monday.

QOTD: I want you to taste a bottle of wine that has been my favorite value play in my entire drinking career. I have a couple bottles and can bring it to you.

1997 Torreoria Gran Reserva (it's a Spanish red)

    Whatdya say?

  • Brunellofello

I completely understand. It's probably good for me to take a break from WLTV as well. Next week I hope you can talk about the 07 Cali cabs or maybe the 04 Brunello Riservas.

  • Totally understand…how about Kmurph as a guest host? Crush It my man!!

Next week wines…more Italian of course!

  • chukheadted

it would be great if you would taste:

Hey, Gary! Gotta do what you gotta do! We'll be here when you get back. 🙂

  • murso

Well – there's always library back issues for us. Go make some money.

When you come back, a whole week of hot weather wines.
Alternative, no -glass packaging (plastic bottles, good quality (int'l ) bag in box, Tetra packs, etc.) for the pool, boat, and picnic.
    Light bodied wines.
Low alc. refreshers – even cocktails – spritzer and sangria method/ recipes.
Refreshing BEERS – Saison, Biere de Garde, Pils, Shandy, Alster, Berliner-Weisse.

How about you pick some wines from the archive that you panned, but thought might be better in the future and then try them now that it is the future. If I happen across any during my archive travels, I'll post 'em.
