  • I like your piece of artwork better than mine. Good work!

  • That is an awesome QOTD answer

  • QOTD: Dumbledore

Gary, absolutely love the last two shows. Really take me back to some of the halcyon days of the Thunder Show… absolutely bringing the knowledge directly to my brain and showing me wines I wouldn’t have heard of before, but now have me intrigued… awesome work, keep it going

GV – Love the intensity and the declaration! Putting your balls on the line is always respectable!

    QOTD 1: Ronald McDonald
QOTD 2: Kilgore Trout from Kurt Vonnegut’s novels!

  • Tough company but it would be interesting. Good luck, I get the impression that he can be a pain in the tukhus.

Wine Library TV ? I thought this was a daily show.

  • Yes, that’s a good one.

  • I’m “batching it” this week and no one to talk or listen to. Where is the G-Man?

I am having the Cloudy Bat SB and I don’t find it “crisp” but man oh man is this stuff good. It has been awhile, I know. It’s be “awhile” for alot of things for the Domster but for now, he’s waiting with baited breath.

And while we’re on the subject, who won “Name the episode I Used the Simpson Cup”?

  • Ronald McDonald and an umbrella?

  • Randall

I’m slacking tonight… just getting in.
Uh, already downloaded your file to my picture gallery. 🙂 Thanks!
Renoir is awesome as well. And I ALWAYS remember to give major props to Kandinski…

You know, OBF, there is quite a bit of good ‘artwork-as-avatars’ here in the WLTV comment section. Some even do it themselves (you know who I’m talking to, MelbaLI) Good people, good wine, good art… it kinda just flows.
    p.s. It’s a veritable Explosion of umbrellas!! 😀

  • Randall

    We won’t tell…

Ooops… Tried to post my mash-up of Nicole Ritchie and Yoda.
Too bad the P/C is not cooperating…

  • Phil G

Gene Kelly is another trademark umbrella guy, no? Singing in the Rain is old school, but still pretty awesome.

GV, you have gone nuts about Portugal, Southern France, Washington (Walla Walla) and to a lesser extent, growers Champaign and Port. Seriously, these regions have caused you to go ballistic over the past 900 shows. So you like this stuff even more??? Guess it is just more in your sweet spot?

QOTD ? thought about this and was a bit stumped, then it was plainly obvious. I?d go with Capt. Picard. That guy grew up in a vineyard and captained the Starship Enterprise ? would be an interesting conversation for sure.

  • waynooo daaa wino

Come on Gary you can’t possibly take a week off, can’t you see what’s happening to the Vaynernation……. 😛

  • The purpose of extended maceration (fermenting on skins for up to 72 days) is to extract more tannin, flavour and colour. Throughout much of the 20th century, producers in the Langhe kept their Barolo and Barbaresco wines for a long period in contact with the grape skins, – for 2 months or more, effectively giving them a long maceration (lunga macerazione).

  • Pizza Vino Joe

QOTD: Doc from John Steinbeck’s “Cannery Row” and “Sweet Thursday”. Easily the coolest dude in all of literature.
