lines of the day – ‘sniffy sniff some flowers…they show up in a lot of wines’ and ‘I haven’t really put my balls on the line for a varietal in the 5 years I’ve been doing the show’

Classic episode, GV in top form and loving the wines

GV – we miss you clearly but you deserve a vacation! Guys – give him a break once in a while! πŸ™‚

    Great region!

  • still playing catch up after a couple of insane weeks..really enjoyed this show and the Nebbiolo before it. Have had my most enjoyable versions at our friend’s restaurant, as I completely trust their judgment in this area.
QOTD: I seem to remember Miss Honeychurch had a parasol in “A Room with a View”

  • QOTD: Cat woman… giddy up. Interesting, my local wine shop list the 3 wines tasted but there all listed as Nebbiolo. The Produttori Barbaresco Rabaja Riserva is a 1999 at $100.00 Canuc bucks. I hate our Canuc tax man.

UH OH MOTT, Giants Beat the Jets. We’ll definitely get some lip service upon return.

Unberella guy you ask? How about the guy from the show “The Avengers”

    Great episode! I have a theory…

Notice Gary’s shirt is the same for three straight episodes? I don’t think all of those tastes hit the spit bucket! His episodes get better and better as he tastes (when taped on the same day). I will go back and evaluate other multi-taped episodes and evaluate my hypothesis!

    Anyone agree?

Interesting show and tremendous wines. I do not drink nearly enough Nebbiolo. I have some Barolo and Barbaresco in my cellar and I do always enjoy them, but yet I rend to ignore them when making most of my major purchases. I’ll have to work on changing that.

    QOTD: John Steed

Great great show. Thanks for introducing me to new wine!

QOTD (real one): Globally & Fictionally, I would have “my” bottle of wine with Aquaman. I mean, the dude live under the water for goodness sake!

yo corkshack … Vaynerchuk has been multi-taping on Mondays for years.

I know…but are the last episodes that he tapes in each series more entertaining? That is what I was planning on reviewing πŸ™‚

  • NY Pete

    only when he doesn’t spit … πŸ™‚

  • QOTD: The monster from Frankenstein. Sure he might have murdered a few people, but in the book, he’s a very refined and pensive dude.

  • Mott

    Years, no. 2010, yes.

Noooooooooo Vinooooooooo for Yoooooooou !!!! :o)

  • NY Pete

as you would be the one to know … I stand corrected.

  • Hgorilla43

i cannot take you seriously when you state in advancehow much you like a varietal. a blind tasting with a few others would have been more impressive.

Does anyone know how to register for the WLTV forum. The anti spam question is who is the host of WLTV but the answer is NOT Gary Vaynerchuk. What am I missing?

Dude,, Nebbiolo is just not for everybody… thank god.. Please leave us Neb lovers alone.. so we can stil afford it.

  • so will there be a show this week or was monday off this time?

  • yeah, you had a week off in the beginning of the summer, what’s up with that? slacker πŸ˜‰

But seriously, heads up next time, again.

This is was an excellent show – you did say how recently how you feel you’re hitting the ‘peak’ episodes, but I think it is episodes like this that are what the show is all about.

Now to somehow find these wines at decent prices in the UK…

It would pretty easy for someone like Gary to pick out nebbiolo out of a blind tasting

I think Gary’s took his family away on holiday this week, so no episodes this week.

  • Remind me not to meet you on the field of battle anytime soon. πŸ˜›

  • I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again. MURPH IT UP!!!!!!!

He also owns multiple lavender-colored golf shirts to hide small wine stains during the spitty-spit.

5 days and counting…horse shit man!

  • That’s a good point. Stand in for Gary. The man need vacation and stuff, so why not πŸ™‚

  • Got that from Mott, hadn’t read all the comments.

About umbrella icons: Has anyone mentioned or thought about John Steed of the Avengers ( the British TV program from the 1960’s-70’s)? Steed was also a wine lover!

  • Downtowdavidf

Morton salt girl… most famous umbrella, if you don’t count the butterfly geisha boy that held my parasol in a rainpour in bali after heavenly 2 hour massage

  • Downtowndavidf

Publicized umbrella figure: the Morton Salt Girl!
Love the show, long time watcher, first time commenting. I watch it when I get a chance which is not as often as I would like as I am a senior veterinary student. You help me look more wine savy with each show I watch. Thank Gary V!

Been off the comments for the last week. I?ve been with 6 friends to a Snowboard trip in Las LeΓ±as, Mendoza, Argentina. The snow and the place were awesome, I definitely recommend for Northern Hemisphere skiers that can?t wait for the winter up there!

The wines were amazing, a Pulenta Estate Pinot Noir blew our minds and palates! Great wine! Interesting was to drink the Terrazas de Los Andes Malbec Reserva and its second wine side by side, and the table found the less expensive, half the price malbec to be the most enjoyable!

QOTD: I would like to have a Barolo with Sir Gary V. If he is too bored, Don Corleone then?

Hey Mott, why some of videos don?t play on the iPhone?

    Best wishes, MF from Brazil.

I’m a little late on this Ep, but I am glad I watched it. I want to go out and get a Nebbiolo now, sweet and sour sounds fantastic.

QOTD 1: No idea, its summer, not in umbrella mode yet.

QOTD 2: Hannibal Lecter, he knows his fine wine and food (particularly sweet breads). As long as I was not rude or disrespectful I am fairly certain he would not cut off my face and eat it.

  • Ok, I need my fix. Where is he?

How ’bout some nice South African or Greek whites orrrrr maybe a return to the Languedoc?

  • Dlatimer00

What fictional ‘Who’ to share that bottle with? I choose two Charlies – Mickey Rourke’s character ‘Charlie’ in Stuart Rosenberg’s ‘The Pope of Greenwich Village’ – a guy with thug-lineage who aspires to be a posh restaurant owner and Charlie Citrine, the protagonist of Saul Bellow’s (arguably) best novel ‘Humboldt’s Gift’. In the book Charlie is victimized by a character which could be Pope’s Charlie’s failed self…that would be an interesting dinner.

  • Fastlane

I would love to drink a bottle of wine with Marlon Brando.

Great stuff getting the Nebbiolos out there…I’m going to give it a whirl (I’m California Cabbed out).

Off Topic: Wine Purchase Help !!!

My daughter was born in 2008 and it looks like the ’08s should be rolling out. I’d like to buy a bottle of wine to put away for her until she graduates from high school or maybe even longer, like her 21st birthday or college grad.

Anyone (GARY V!!!) help me out with what would be an epic wine to get that would fit the bill????

    Thanks much in advance!
