Most notable for the fact that GV’s bald patch makes its first appearance. Happens to all of us dude!

Good luck Thursday night, and I guess the Jets need some too!

  • You couldn’t be more accurate about that $20 price range… it’s crazy.

    Good show.

I was offered 6 months of complimentary Sirius when I leased my car, but haven’t taken them up on the offer. Guess I’ll have to now.

QOTD: I wouldn’t say they’re completely doomed, but would be in a MUCH BETTER position if they sign him.

Tried an Amarone this weekend that Sasha loved on one of the shows you did together. It wasn’t a featured wine on WLTV, but something he had dining out with a friend. The producer was Zyme. I happened to have the ’04 vintage called “OZ”. Excellent wine, raisins, sage, pipe tobacco and tomatoey–needless to say went well with the Rigatoni and meatballs. Good recommendation, Sasha!!

  • A dumb Rhein king

So, you guys, I heard GV is leaving us for another platform.

Let’s let him know what we think of that.

    Hehe 😉

Welcome back Mr. V. Congrats on the deal, that is huge. I won’t hear you on XM, I don’t like monthly payments or trials that ask for cc info. I’m too lackadaisical to remember to cancel in time. To me it was genius for iTunes to not ask for cc info if you have the prepaid cards. Hmm, that gives me an idea, XM should do prepaid cards … maybe for specific shows or a time limit … they could create their own apps to control it and upload software it to their receivers too.

    QOTD: Who now?

  • Anonymous

I have a copy of the list. I don’t want to memorize it for a test. It’s a nice reference but I highly doubt I will ever memorize it.

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

    My bad…I misread your question.

  • NY Pete

look at my man pimpin’ for sirius now

  • NY Pete

    Ian is God … 🙂

  • vinotintoiowa

Psyched about the XM show. Have had it in my car and home office for seven years. Even had one from my long bike rides. Keep up the good work.

    To Paul Stagg. Go Ravens.

Welcome back. One week was a long time, but it was worth it. I do not have Sirius/XM and do not need another monthly fee to pay. I will probably listen while it is free. I don’t really care about the Jets, but understand that they are important to Gary. I will cheer for the Falcons and Packers, as usual.

Dumb Rhein King ain’t so dumb. Like he, the idea of paying (and paying) for radio burns my cahones. I have an old Sony amp. Turn it on, free. Beautiful. Come on. What convenience will we be paying for next?

Unfortunately, I really like Gary V’s show! What to do. Maybe I’ll catch you in Tahoe 9-30.
Had a bottle or Sancere up in Truckee, one of my first, and it was excellent. Spaced out and didn’t note the winery. I’ll look on their web page (Moody’s) and see if they have a celler list.

    Good show. you were missed.

  • Sorry Gary, I refuse to sign up for anything free that requires my credit card info.
    QOTD: No

  • purplegrillz

Congratulations GV! I wish you all the success in the world with this new venture, you deserve it!

Excellent show as well, what is the call in # for the show on Thursday?

Jets 7-9 without Revis. Sanchez sophomore slump will be hard to overcome as the Jets will average 12-14 points a game

  • MikeDag

Great episode, love the Sancerre. I’ve had Sirius since Stern went over and love all the channels. Can’t wait for Thursday night, though it will be strange hearing without seeing you. Best of luck sir.
QOTD: I’m not worried about the Jets, they’re scrappy!

  • The Jewells

G.V. … I am excited to hear that you are taking WLTV to a new audience! At the same time I am little bit concerned that you will not be able to spend as much time with us. Though I do not have XM, I will try find a way to get this content… most likely via nefarious means.

I would love to see you try some wine from NY’s Finger Lakes region.

  • srdonjulio

Dude, NO ONE should ever have to apologize for spending time with their family!

  • Byrnesryan

Hey Gary…fold down your collar bro!

  • Anonymous

Great to see you back and good luck on radio!

  • Bags and Sancerre…what a combo! WB GV & Crew! Mott was right on the ball today.

QOTD1: I had Sirius, but had to cancel because I’m a poor, full-time student.
QOTD2: I hope they bounce back.

  • Thnx pal!

  • Call in number will be announced on the show

  • Thnx so much for this comment, means a lot to me

  • QOTD: Revis would only add 2 wins (tops) to the season, so if the Jets would have been 12-4, they will still be 10-6 and make the playoffs!

    Go Lions!!!

  • QOTD – they are not doomed, but they need to find a common ground (both of them).

Great show and you were missed. I love both Sancerre and the brown bags, so a great combination. Congrats on the show Thursday, I will look forward to it.

  • Anonymous

I enjoy the brown bag shows. Congrats on the radio gig! We don’t get Sirius, but may have to check it out this month.

Well root for the Jets when they’re not playing the Vikings 🙂 (Brett’s back!)

  • Digi

Satellite radio is the best investment I made in the past few years. God willing, I will never listen to AM/FM radio again. Nothing beats long drives and not losing reception. Anything on AM is on XM/Sirius except for Jim Rome …. I get my style of music on XM where I’d never hear a band I liked on regular radio. Opie and Anthony make the morning fly and I can’t wait to hear Gary V on Thurs.

    Linger Longer

  • Anonymous

QOTD: No idea, don’t follow the Jets that close.
Re the satellite radio show, radio was free for almost 100 years and I see no reason to pay for what I can still get close to 50 channels of locally for free, so unfortunately I won’t be able to join in. I’m sure contracts prohibit it, but if there’s any way to post episodes online after they air, I’ll certainly listen to them each week!

  • Anonymous

    No subscription to Sirius

Jets had the #1 defense in the NFL last year – they’ll still be solid without Revis and the team to beat in the AFC East IMHO.

GARY!! Can you please change the chalkboard in the background? “Thursdays at 10PM” – get rid of the apostrophe.

Great to have you back, after going through a few days of WLTV withdrawals! I almost went on another vacation because you went on vacation.

Great show – agree with Dan “On Tap”, you can’t miss with bags and Sancerres.

I hope you and your family had a nice time off.

Very exciting to hear about your radio gig – I’m sure you’ll do very well and will have a lot of fun with it!

I don’t presently have Sirius, but may try the 30 days free.

I enjoy watching football, but am not such a fan to know much about statistics or about every player on every team, so I can’t help you much on the QOTD.

    Cheers!

Great show Gary! Glad to have you back. I hope you had a great break.

It?s too bad that we have to pay to hear your radio show. It?d be great if your episodes were available for free at a later time, but perhaps that?s not possible. Anyway, as much as I would like to tune in, I prefer your vidcasts ? your reactions, your props, Mott, Wine Library, the staff and of course your father. As long as you keep posting them, and I hope you do so for a while to come, I will continue watching.

On a different note, it?s my birthday Thursday, and wife is letting me get a couple of bottles to have with dinner, so I?m thinking of trying a Nebbiolo. Not sure if the wine store will have any of the wines you tasted, but will take a look.

  • waynooo daaa wino

    Brown Bagzzz ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCCKK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Kinda like a piece o’ Crap !!!” Had plenty of those myself…….

qotd: The JETS gonna do GOOOOOOOD, with or without what’s-his-face…….

  • Nice Brown Bag episode… and congrats on the Sirius deal.. will check out the 30 day freebie as I don’t have it currently…

QOTD: I think the crap from the HBO show will do more damage to the Jets than the absence of Revis…

  • Maxkogo

Jets NOT doomed without Revis. As long as Crome can put on a hit they will be fine. Superbowl? I dunno, but they will be fine.

    Hail to the Redskins!

  • waynooo daaa wino

    “Nope” & “Nope”…???… COOOOOOMME OOOOOOOOONNNNN, Don’t beeeee
    a PARTY POOPER !!!!!!! ;o)

  • Dave in LA (Louisiana)

QOTD: Jets go as Sanchez goes. No DB ever carried a team ( see Brees, Mannings, etc). Hope the Jets make him live up to the promise he made when he signed – if he’d sucked he still want his guaranteed money.

QOTD 2: Got XM in the vehicle – love ya Gary, but, unless I’m driving somewhere 9:00pm on Thursday, I’m not sitting in the truck in the driveway to listen.

Great show – first time I have seen 3 Sauv Blancs tasted and not heard “grapefruit”.

  • scottEJ

Welcome back, G. Congrats on the new show. Hopefully, it won’t mean the end of WLTV.

    QOTD: Bears fan here.

  • first time listener, long time drinker?

  • QTOD: Don’t follow Football… but I’ll raise my hand anyways! Some action’s better than no action (mostly).

The other question: No Sirius/XM for me. Besides, I catch up with my news at the end of the day and sleep early. I’ll have to wait for the comments and tweets to catch me up with all the madness that goes down in Sirius/XM offices while GV runs the mic.

  • Pour that shizz in the bucket! Classic.

QOTD – I think the Jets are doomed to do worse than last year, with or without Revis. The loss of Thomas Jones and Faneca is going to see a hit to the ground game. Thus more on the shoulders of Sanchez. Sorry. I don’t see him stepping up. Add to the mix a brutal schedule and I sense trouble. Plus that Jets show is making your team a target for EVERYONE. Still a playoff team but AFC champ? Pazz. Sorry GV ;[

QOTD2 – Not sure SIRIUS is for me. Maybe.

  • How much are season tickets to the Jets? Twenty, thirty dollars for the whole season? :p… So glad to see you back gary. I’m now going to try to get sirius to listen to your show. Loving the brown bags! You can always make sure that what your saying is completely unbiased. There is just something fun about not knowing things.

On a side note I remember watching the episode on different glasses and how they change the nose of the wines and did a test with my mom and poured the same chateauneuf du pape into three different glasses and she totally thought that they were three different wines. When are you going to do a follow up of some kind to that?

    Loving the pink shirt too.

  • Pink polo? “Bougy?” Had to make sure I had the right website ;). Glad to hear you took some time off. Will have to follow your lead ASAP though the little ones are back in school so it will have to wait. Have had the Boulay and enjoyed it. Will have to try and find the Neveu.

Would love to hear the radio show but last time I checked Sirius/XM were still charging for content and I don’t have enough reasons to cough up the $. Best of luck though.

I’m hoping the Jets do well because it leads to better WLTV content ;).

  • is that Lion-O wearing a Jets shirt on the desk?

  • Randall

    Finally… a lurker comes out…
    🙂

  • Yeah, one of my pet peeves.. get rid of the apostrophe, GV.

  • I’ve never tried Sancerre (not a big fan of sauvignon blanc), but am curious about wine #1. Good show! Glad to have you back, Gary!!
You’ll love Lake Tahoe in Sept. I wonder if this Tech event is open to the public?

  • Randall

I agree… Don’t try to charge me for radio, people! Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh should’ve learned that lesson!! Give me free (w/ advertising) radio, internet, TV, etc…

I know that may not be a popular stance with you, Gary, but I think it represents the VAST majority of peeps out there…

  • waynooo daaa wino

    This “peep” likes FREE…….. :o)

  • Randall

Oh my!!!!! He’s calling you out, MelbaLI!!!! Ouch!!

  • NY Pete

now that’s frackin’ weak Gary … I’m sure that number is available now.

  • Randall

No “free trials” that demand cc info, No “monthly payments” for what shoukl be ‘free’ (w/ ads)

Everybody please let the consumer decide what they are willing to pay for ANY service… I don’t mind paying for what I want to… and btw Gary, your brand of “service” (WLTV) not only promotes your sales of wine, but also provides a MUCH NEEDED service to the general public, which then helps you anyway…
