  • Really enjoy encruzado. Keep an eye out for a producer called Terras de Tavares. Really good stuff! Also you should check out grape called Jaen a.k.a. mencia from the Dao. Awesome!
QOTD: I’m really keen on Dao. It is the best area in Portugal for table wines….atleast in theory. It’s rising! Tasted some reds and whites from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, beautiful. Not easy wines when young, lots of ageing potential. Very gastronomical wines.Ilkka SirénViiniTV.com

QOTD: My favorite thing about Portugal is Douro. Really like the wines coming out of that area.

At around 2:39 you stated that Touriga National is also known as Tempranillo, if I am not mistaken I think it is Tinta Roriz that is known as Tempranillo in Spain and the rest of the world (not Touriga National, which has another clone varietal that goes by Touriga Franchesca, but they are not related to Tempranillo aka Tinta Roriz)

Not liking the tape delayed 3rd time cherry pop. Three wines 8 to 10 minutes please.
I had a nice red from Portugal that you recommended but can’t remember what it was. Taste some more reds from there please.
