QOTD: The Hangover was pretty good/funny…yesterday I watched “Drag Me To Hell” with my nephew a few times…the 2nd time we turned off the volume and ad-libbed some of the exceptionally gross & kinda scary parts…the 3rd time we only highlighted the scary parts so he could scare his sister.. The “best” movie..nah..but I had the BEST TIME watching it!

QoTD: Date Night. Steve Carell, Tina Fey, what more could you want

Great episode. Just imagine if that Bocard was Bordeaux. 700$ easy. I live in Buffalo btw. Everyone at school is extremely depressed. 🙂
QOTD: Shutter Island!
wow exciting episode. best movie i’ve seen lately is re-watching the secret window.

Definitely would like to add a Cote Rotie to the collection. As my brother used to say many years ago when he was a kid, maybe you can buy that when you have some “spare money”.
QOTD: I had a Netflix subscription for a while and most of the movies were subpar except for “The Blindside”.
So I buy wines in the $9-$15 range on a regular basis because my budget is limited, but I swear- you have me seriously thinking about seeking out that third wine. Very compelling.
Best I saw this summer: Winter’s Bone. see it. see it, see it, see it. Not quite a feel-good film, but stunning performances.
wow! that last wine reviewed was exciting to watch! No $100 here and I probably wouldn’t appreciate it myself but I will be recommending it to friends who might be interested in that price range.
QOTD:
I liked a lot of movies this year:
The Other Guys
Predators
Robin Hood
Cop Out
Salt
and
The Expendables
are all recommended, but of course depends on what genres you like.
QOTD: Favorite movie this summer has to be Scott Pilgrim vs. The World! Probably the nerd in me.

Don’t know that I have ever had a cote rotie, but it sounds like I should other than for the high price. Somehow the summer went by without many movies. I will read other comments to see what I should watch this fall.

QOTD – Inception
Every Cote Rotie I have drunk has had Viognier blended with the Syrah – so this show was interesting in that they were all 100% syrahs
Doesn’t Cote Rotie translate to “Hot Slope” ? Maybe that’s why you get the classic black pepper.
I’m really enjoying learning about different parts of our world and the wine that is produced. Great show, but 100 bones for a bottle of wine? That good? Very hard for me to imagine or justify.
QOTD: It’s been in our collection for a few years, but I just watched it for the first time in August: Once. Great movie with a documentary feel. In fact, they said that after the first screenings audience members were asking questions like the story was real.

Great show, I have only had Southern Rhone wines but I must try some Northern Rhone’s.
QOTD: Tie, Inception(with the wife) and Toy story 3(with the kids).

QOTD: I didn’t see many movies this summer because I was too busy and it just kind of slipped my mind. I did however get to see “Gone with the Wind” at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor about a month and a half ago. Extraordinary experience seeing that movie on the big screen even though I was straining my neck in the very front row.
i really want to taste more rhone wines, they intrigue me. too bad im always broke. i spend too much money on wine! hey gary, whered you get the t-shirt youre wearing?
qotd: i re-watched requiem for a dream a few weeks ago and it blew me away…once again.
I like when you can say that the value of something is more than its price, as explained quite well in today’s episode. Nice.
QOTD: best movie…hmm, well I’m not sure about best but I watched ET in remastered edition and it is amazing, totally recommended specially with THX sound system, it blows your mind. (also from my youth, last starfighter, in normal dvd format)

good stuff on the cote rotie. the lower end delas freres are good also
movie – the town
go pats
Good show! I’ve wondered about cote rotie.. thanks for the education, Gary.. Rhone wines in general are hit and miss with me.
QOTD: I saw the following movies this summer:
Eat Pray Love -Julia Roberts was great.. although movie dragged on.
Salt -ridiculous plot but Angelina’s fun to watch.
The kids are alright – wait for DVD
Wall Street Never Sleeps – wait for DVD
The Hangover – very funny
I can’t wait to see The Town!
From what everyone is saying about Inception, I’ll have to add it to the top of my list.
Marcus
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
Marcus
If yor are Jenna you get Sanchez, if you are Jenna’s guy you get Tomlinson
Don Simpson
I love the Rhone but don’t have the money cash to drop on Cote Rotie. Maybe one day.
Love to see a $100 wine live up to it’s price! I know that feeling of a wine grabbing hold and begging you to take another sip…it’s a priceless moment.
QOTD: Hands down…. Ironman 2!

QOTD: Didn’t see that many, probably Beer Wars.
Please keep the guests to a minimum until January- I hate it when people break promises. I don’t dislike guests, I just don’t think dishonesty is a good business practice.
Gary, it’s your show. Have as many guests as you want.
QOTD: Lots o’ people will say this, but definitely “Inception”
passion4wine
Enjoyed the wine talk-
Love Cote Rotie, and would def spend 1hun on a 96pt. Cote Rotie. Unfortunately the Villard Brocarde is not avail. in my region or I would buy a bottle tomorrow!
Best movie- def “Get Him to the Greek”- hilarious

Hey, Vaynerchuk – if the idea is to inform, shouldn’t you at least mention that 2004 was a so-so vintage (Parker rated it 85C…the “C” standing for “caution”); 2007, while no blockbuster, was more consistent, and in general, a better year? The “green” characteristics are (somewhat) typical of 2004…maybe you should steer your fanbase away from the weaker vintage while dropping that 2006 is the year to buy.
For those seeking the taste/style of Cote Rotie at a lower price try a few of the single vineyard Syrah’s from K Vinters/Charles Smith; there are several in the $35-40 range…but be aware that a couple of his wines also approach $100.
Loved the Cote Rotie show. If you’re planning another baller show could we see some Hermitage head-to-head?
QOTD: Didn’t see much in or out of theaters this summer but Inception was, perhaps, the best movie I’ve ever seen in theaters. A modern-day version of Fellini’s 8 1/2 and brilliantly executed.

line of the day – ‘This is not wimp city’
Love it when GV either raves about or hates a wine, and here he absolutely goes nuts over one of them. Very watchable
