  • I don’t like holiday movies that much, haven’t watched one in forever, but if I were to pick one I would say the one with Jim Carrey “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” 2000

  • Love when you “discover” a huge value play. Will be looking for the Cosme!
QOTD: I loved A Christmas Story long before it became the thing to like. Still one of my favorites.

I’m afraid you missed my smiley. If not, then you should air your room. 😉

Very much enjoy the brown bags. It takes some of the subjectivity out of the tasting. I find the same thing when I do a blind tasting. You have to judge a wine on what you smell, taste, and see. I did not watch any holiday movies this year, so I guess none of them is my favorite.

    GIMME “THE BIG ASS GLASS”!!!!!!!!

  • I think you can be arrested in some countries for saying that. 😉

I have a receipe for longevity wine. Would there be a market for it?

    excellent stuff gary!

    Excellent Gary!

  • QOTD: The original Home Alone. So many great quotes. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is a very close second though.

  • Anonymous

QOTD: The Patrick Stewart version of Christmas Carol. Stewart does a seriously mean, despicable, Scrooge. He does such a good job with the role that you can easily get past the Captain Picard image and just enjoy the show.

I think I was once in Utah! 🙂

  • Poor, Poor Gary!! First ANOTHER Jets lost and now Mother nature piles it on high on NY & NJ. Now would be a great time for some “ICE WINE”.

  • laurensNL

Brown bags, you gotta love em.

    QOTD: Die Hard 😛

  • QOTD: The Christmas Story. Gotta love the lamp.

Yes! I completely agree! his thespian style is perfect for A Christmas Carol. That and he can play joyously happy if he wants as well.

Rat-a-tat-tat, two rats in a vat, one drank all the wine and became very fat, now only one rat can fit outside of the vat.

Eat your heart out Dr. Seuss.

    Is that from cellarrat-in-a-hat??????????????? 😛

Yes, I am the estranged nephew of the aforementioned children’s book author. That is a sample from my latest adult wine related holiday themed rhyme fiction novel about a young winemaker and his battle with Vermin, metaphorical vermin of coarse.

    I agree, if only there were suggestions…oh wait…. 😀

  • Ahhh man, a perfect night for sitting back and watching a nice episode on Arneis or maybe rose champagne.

  • Great show and will be seeking out the Saint Cosme, hopefully they have it at K&L. If this is the last show of the year, great finish! Heading to Napa tomorrow for a couple days of fun and wine. Can’t wait.

QOTD – The two that I loved as a kid, and who am I kidding I still am one, are A Year Without a Santa Claus and the original Grinch. The current tradition that my wife and I have is to watch Love Actually.

    Happy Holidays to all!!!

  • I love French white wine. Thanks for doing this show.

  • I need some thunder – this is torturous

  • Anonymous

QOTD : All-time has to be ‘Scrooged’ with Bill Murray. Look forward to it every year.

  • Anonymous

I’ve got a hanker’n for some “Thunder” and “The Big Ass Glass”!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anonymous

Hope all you Wine Library folks are having a great holiday season!

QOTD – This is kind of different, but i bet I’ll see it down below… Die Hard.

  • Soon to be Happy New Year Gary.
As a wine guy would you try chocowine from Chocovine.com?
Me as a chocloate guy might just too see if there is in fact chocolate flavours or have they just made something sweeeeet. It’s a dutch product so one can never be sure ( they do make good licorice in Holland)
I think you can find it in New Jersey at Allied beverage group. Just a suggestion if ever wanted to something different.

  • I just wanted to apologize to everyone. My Bears beating his Jets seems to have caused a delay in the Thunder.

  • ALLAN

    Can we please get a bubbles-show before the big sha-bang ? ? ? ? ? ? ? 😛

    Yours truly ALLAN

I have a general question posed to all diehard (or otherwise) football fans. I was curious as to why the sport of football (american football) seems to have the largest amount of fans that refer to the local football tem as “theirs” as opposed to just the teams name or the more collective term “our(s)”. I do understand that football seems to have the most “hardcore” fans, and that it is more religion for some than sport. I can also understand the closeness people feel to one’s home team, but I do not notice this as much when I listen to people talk about baseball, basketball or soccer. This is a legitimate question and do not mean to be satirical or speak in hyperbolae in any way. Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Careful now, do not want to upset the delicate sensitivities of some of the more mundane Vayniacs out there. BRING USSSSS OUUUURRRR TTTTTTHHHHHHUUUUUNNNNNDDDDEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to go spam hunters, thank you for keeping this forum spam free for all!

  • Could not have said this better myself!!!!

  • Anonymous

QOTD: A Christmas Story of course.

  • Looks as if Gary and the Jets are on “STANDBY” until………..2011, Gary just think, at the rate the Jets are playing, they will be at Basement Bargain Price by the time you purchase them. See the bright side.
