Okay show but best bits were all GV going on about the Jets. Possibly longest Jets talk ever.

Like seeing the passion in people half my age. Keep it up boys! ; )

QOTD: Frankly, the crew that I ran with never did the bar thing, so I didn’t have to deal with the bad pick up line situation. The Pinotage one was very cute and nerdy though.
Been happily married the last 10 years, so I’m out of the loop on the current scene..

Hopefully you can re-load Google Chrome or Firefox web browsers and fix the lame-o disgust problem(s)…

Interesting show, interesting wines. I thought the guest, while a nice guy did not add to the show. Did not seem to interested in the wines, more just being on the show hanging with Gary. And Gary you seemed more interested in football etc. than the wines. Sooner the Jets lose the faster we can get back to wine I guess.

Sad to see a bad shoff off of the Prado Enea and Palacios. Those 2 wines are 2 great wines among the spanish league and brings me back some great memories. Gary what about crossing the Mediterranean Sea and show some North African wines….

    “Every time I’m walkin’
    all down the street,
    some pretty mama start

    stop breaking down
    baby please stop breaking down,

yeah, gonna make you loose you mind……” Robert Johnson/Rolling Stones.

Gary, you’ve got to go with spare ribs, not baby backs. Way more flavor, and if prepared properly, just as tender. If you’re ever on Orcas Island, Washington, I’ll hook you up. Excellent options in KC and Austin, Texas as well.

QOTD: Hmm, don’t really do pick up lines. Too old. But for for dork factor, I always liked “Math and alcohol don’t mix. Never drink and derive.”

QOTD: Been married over 32 years so haven’t been using any for a while, but now the original pick-up line, “What’s your sign” can now be re-incarnated because they recently added a 13th astrological sign.

I stick with my original comment…

    1) weak guest 2) wet behind the ears

Your ?palate? is the roof of your mouth, and by extension, your sense of taste. A ?palette? is the flat board an artist mixes paint on (or by extension, a range of colors)

And actually, if you had taken the time to notice his misspelling, you’d have seen that it was spelled as a movable, usually wooden, base to transport material by forklift, etc.
    Lighten up, dude…

  • i want to go on a wine tasting trip across europe

  • Good show Ian 🙂

  • Buffalo represent!

  • UB student and a WNY native! Awesome!

I have absolutely never used a pick-up line. The most I managed was a shy smile, and it was sort of hit or miss as to whether it worked. I once was picked up by someone who casted my broken ankle. I can’t remember what he said.

I have a Palacios Les Terrasses; I can’t remember the year and a it’s time-consuming for me to get up and down the stairs with my injury I’ll check it later. Priorat is currently my favorite wine.

Why the hate? I’m young? That was clearly one of the reasons that I’m on. I am greatly influenced by Gary and feel that my friends and I are examples of how he is changing the wine world.

I love the way guests watch Gary as he does his intro!! Go Jets!

Great show guys, good luck with everything Ian.

qotd; “Do you believe in the hereafter? Well, then I guess you know what I’m here after.”

  • John__J

Hey Gary, congrats on the Jets obliterating the pats!! Looks like this may be their year!

  • Hey Boys

Great episode, love the banter. I remeber when Gary called Ian originally – awesome stuff.

Gary I’m all there for your love of eating bones. In Hong Kong where I live people love eating chicken wings and they’ve dveloped the awesome skill of being able to stick the whole thing in there mouth, munch on it for a while and then spit out an intact bone totaly devoid of all meat – it’s impressive.

QOTD: Ian great question to jump outside the box, but I can’t think of any, sorry …

    Cheers
    Andrew

  • Ian, man, get yourself online! I’d love to support you, but you’re nowhere to be found!

How old are you and how much do you weigh?

Decent show. Gary, I’d like to see a show of blind tastings, Australian v. German rieslings.
Congrats on win. I was surprised, but impressed with D.

QOTD: I bet my tongue can beat up your tongue.

  • Randall

    Toe rings?

    😉

  • JK

Nice episode. In keeping with the sommelier theme – I saw you have the latest releases from Evening Land in stock – how about a show where Gary tastes through those?
It would be extra special if you could track down a bottle of their Cabernet to include.
Appreciate the time you guys put into this.

QOTD: Do you polish those pants? Cause I can really see myself in them.

Nice episode, go Jets! You’re lucky Brady had a meltdown!

  • Anonymous

Great, great, great show! Great GUEST!!!

THE JETS WON!!! Next show should be a lot of fun!!

Fun Fact: That ENAMORE, is so intense because it?s made like Amarone, with dried grapes, its partnership between Allegrini and Bodegas Renacer.

This weekend I had a not so good experience with a fruit-bomb. Me and my wife went out with a couple friends, and he brought a 2002 Casa Ferreirinha Vinha Grande from Portugal, and I brought a Mollydooker Blue Eyed Boy, 2009. The Portuguese was round and balanced, while the Australian was a complete over the top jelly fruit boom, that even my sweet tooth found hard to bear. I am afraid now, cause I have Carnival of Love 2009 and Velvet Glove 2009 and 2007. Should I be worried I have problems too with this wines???
