    Qotd: Jets win 24-21
Qotd: sure have, including the Tomero. love torrontes

And while we’re on South American wines, I just added a lovely Marselan from Uruguay to my wine list. Loaded with blue fruits, and really juicy with nice acidity on the finish.

  • Yeah, where’s the playoff beard? And the guest? (just kidding) … now to watch

    QOTD: Jets 42 Steelers -6
OK, seriously, I can’t stand the Steelers after their win over the Seahawks in the Super Bowl with some very questionable calls. I know that sounds like a homer but even the officials from that game said, and I quote, “We kicked it in that game.”
SO, my FINAL answer is Jets 20-19. Ben is way overrated but he does win. Mark is maturing rapidly. Congrats to the Jets for a huge win yesterday. I thought of you during the whole game. My ‘Hawks didn’t fare very well. Too many blown opportunitiew.

Congrats on the Jets win yesterday. My Bears survived, too.

Those are some pairings I’m interested in checking out now, thanks.

If you can get your hands on a Cesar from Burgundy (Burgundy’s other red grape), I recommend trying that with a pittsburgh style steak. I was surprised how well it worked.

Congrats Gary! I don’t follow football but I really hope Jets win the SB just to see you freak out with ecstaticness.
QOTD2: Yes, actually i prefer Torrontes to 98% of Sauvignon Blancs. IMO it’s the best white by a long shot coming out of South America.

  • Hi Gary,
Congrats on the Jets win – Im following the jets very closely here in AUS, we have live coverage of all playoff games which is great. Love your work you are such an inspirational personality in the wine game. GO JETS

    qotd1 – Jets 23 – Steelers 19
qotd2 – Havnt had a Torrentes as yet – They are very hard to come by here in AUS, look forward to trying one. Cheers Sammy S

If they win Sanchez needs a mink coat ala Broadway Joe!

QOTD 2 – Never had Torrontes.

    Steelers 22 Jets 17, that 22 includes a safety.
Packers 17 Bears 10 – Packers go on to win Super Bowl.
Torrentes – yes a little too floral for me, but the Tamari is pretty darn good!

    Wine QOTD — yes

  • AHHHHHHH!!!!!

    STEELERS 23 jets 17

Tough spot for both teams this weekend. Glad we have you on the rematch after our loss week 15. Hard to beat great teams twice. We’ll see.

YEAH BABY!!!!!!!! I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY TO BE BACK!!!! I WANT “THE BIG ASS GLASS!!!!! Good show GV, I can’t believe the Jets won either, but I am GLAD! I was scared of NE. Now the BEARS AND STEELERS (My two favorite teams) can match-up for all the marbles.
Is anyone else tired of seeing that OLD MAN in the firemans hat with the JETS on it, J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets guy? He has got to be 100 years old by now. 😛

HUGE congrats on the Jets victory. I am Niners / baseball Giants fan of 40 yrs and know how a BIG victory like this can really make the world seem a better place… Unfortunately, I don’t think the emotion of this win will serve the Jets well against the Steelers. I will be pulling for Jets but my head says 24 – 20 Steelers.

Have not had Torrontés but purchased the 2009 La Yunta Torrontés and planning to drink the first warm evening of spring.

Pittsburgh seems to be able to turn it on when needed. Of coarse that what the Pats thought. I’ll be pulling for your ugly green team but only so you’re in a good mood again. Of coarse everyone loves an under dog.
SF bay area folks or out of towners we’re having a wine tasting in Palo Alto January 30th,,,, friend me up or edwest_98 at yahoo!

I am from Canada so no NFL, Always been a Saints and Jets fan. Everybody in my familly were going Pats all the way. I am soooo glad today. First time in history that a team beats the Colt and the Pats back to back. Good show again Gary.
Qotd 1 : Jets 17 Steelers 14 (If they do it’s their year man)
    Qotd 2 : Yes

Happy for the Jets, I do pull for them. But I’m even happier that the Pats lost. I’ve HATED them since they beat my Rams in 2001.

QOTD1: Jets 24, Steelers 10. Jets shut down Big Ben and roll to the SB
QOTD2: Yup, many times. Despite your attempt to make this a winter beverage, to me it’s a nice summertime quaff.

  • Anonymous

I went to a Jets forum and a wine tasting broke out.

    Brother Gary,
I’m glad that the Jet’s beat those pasty-faced idols, even without tripping anyone from the sidelines, but dude, the playoff beard represents! I hope that your wife wanted it off, I respect that, otherwise….?

QOTD #2 No, but sign me up.
