  • I love the “Alba” and yes, you said “Asti” a few times and wondered if you would catch it. Good job, on top of it. I will say that these shows on Italian wines has raised my enthusiasm since I love them so much and there’s so many different varietals to expand our palates.

QOTD: Easy answer, 971 and of those I saw 966 the day (sometimes within 2 days) of their original broadcast.

    Cheers!!

Apples and oranges, pizza and burgers. Your opinions brilliantly communicated. You should do the Scaronne again in a few years and see if you score changes.

  • I bet on bubbly.

QOTD: somewhere around 100, which is a little alarming given that I only discovered your site less than a month ago. Clearly, I’m hooked!

As you know, I really enjoy Barbera as well, and agree that while I love yours and Cooper Vineyard’s and Jeff Runquist’s, there are high end Italian ones out there that can beat ’em.

Sorry Maxwell, if you want to run with the herd you better get your ass in the archives and catch up 😉

QOTD: About 20-25. I just discovered you recently and tune in every night to either a new show or an archived show. Keep up the good work, I’m learning a lot. I’m just getting into Italian wines (visiting there in Oct) so I really appreciate this episode.

If you don’t mind, gentlemen, I’d like to cut in here to suggest some great Barbera:
    1. St. Amant
    2. Cooper Vineyards

  • Anonymous

I was at both of those places last weekend! Cooper makes some decent wines, Jeff is a friend of the winery 😉

  • Anonymous

Good to hear progress is being made!

  • Randall

Good to see you back in the comments! Don’t be a stranger…

  • Gary,
First chance seeing the video. Tried the Scarrone and loved it. Reading Crush It, and…………..
    good luck to the J-E-T-S

How would I check the sediment level before racking? Making wine is a hands on job (sometimes literally) although I try and keep my hands out of the crusher, de-stemer and sump. I need to play the guitar somehow, and feet just do not cut it.
