90/100

Line of the day – ‘This wine reminds me of a georgeous mum that ran the household back in the 1800s.’

With a line like that, this episode has to score 90 points.

  • Hi Gary,
Excellent explanation regarding the two wines – & how you enjoyed one wine over the other simply from a flavor profile, but still rated them both well. Nice show

qotd – At least 550 shows – And you still continue to bring wine inspiration

QOTD, probably started watching 3 years ago and would be surprised if I missed more than a handful. So, what is that about 600 shows probably?

  • Anonymous

QOTD: close to 600. I discovered WLTV before episode 400. or about 3 years ago

I like all formats of WLTV but I must say my favorite is one varietal with 2-3 bottles. “nerding it up”

    Counting this one ………. 777!

I have seen them all to date and I just started watching 3 months ago.

I am new and I have seen all episodes since august 2010. Hey gary I have an idea of a question of the day for one of you non guest episodes.

  • but Casper never vanished, did he?

Perhaps just easing up on the exclamation points.

p.s. I liked the girly men comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That’s odd, since Euro and dollar is really weak against the Swedish krona at the moment 🙂
but if you get one for 25 bones that is good and the one for 45 (or 60 as some cost were I can buy) bones is not any better, then it’s not value fall the time. And I think teher is about 60-70 I can get hold of.
BTW How is Indiana these days?

Disqus did it to me again. My proceding message was entered as a response to tacomabrian.

  • roughly two weeks 🙂 in 5 years. I have had longer vacations 🙂

About 800. Started watching in the autumn of 2009, catching up now and then after that.

  • QOTD: Between 40 and 50 shows… love them, btw!

  • QOTD: I’d guess that I’ve seen close to ALL of your shows! Probably missed a handful here and there over time, so I’m putting down 800 or so to be conservative.

  • Nice format!
QOTD: Has to be at least 700! My first memory is when you did the champagne tasting from the parking lot in the blizzard! I thought “this guy is nuts” and I got hooked!! Keep up the good work…lov ya GV! //

Great episode. I think I’ve only had a Barbera D’Alba once, and I always go for one of the nebbiolo based Piemontese wines instead. I think tomorrow I’m going to have to switch things up a bit..
QOTD: I’d say I’ve seen a little over half the episodes. I watch on iTunes usually, so I don’t often make it over to post a comment.

    Bet I’ve seen above 700.

QOTD: do I really have to answer? I’ve watched (and documented) ALL episodes.

  • Anonymous

I’ve probably seen 700+ but have tuned out mid-episode with some of the more pretentious guests

  • Anonymous

And we thank you for it, and all the others who make the show possible!

I think you are responding to my comment about being better with feet than hands or something like that, if you are, you’re sick! Can I get your phone number?? 😉

  • This is all well and dandy but how many shows have you seen man? ; )

    Good stuff.

  • Well, it is official, a couple of those wines will be incorporated in my blog.

    Thank you!

We can get them anywhere from $10US to $40US. The ones that come in around $15 to $20 are a real nice play. Indiana is doing well these days. Where I live in Indiana is as close to Chicago, Illinois without being in Chicago, right on Lake Michigan. We have a few inches of snow on the ground and it is a bit chilly, but I am sure nowhere near Sweden’s snow and cold.

    Nostrovia!

Dang it! Trying to respond to AndersN and the wonderful world of Disqus won’t let me!

Sorry AndersN, I really am trying to reply in the appropriate spot but Disgust won’t let me. I am going to leave this here and hopefully you’ll see this anyway.

  • Love Barbera. Best deals in town. ANSWER of the DAY: 500 – 550 or so. How many have you seen of mine??

  • Great QOTD! I’d say 300+ easily. I started watching back in fall of 2008.

I tend to have Disqus problems at work but not at home (where I probably have a newer version of IE). They have rules against downloading and installing here at work. But today I downloaded/installed Firefox. So far so good.

971 to be precise! Keep them coming Gary.

  • Oakmon’s BF

Thank you, it?s nice to be noticed. I still watch each new episode when it arrives and comment when I?m inspired to do so. If there?s been a change it?s due to the fact that I don?t always have time to read the comments. Reading the comments probably inspires me to comment more than the show does. Disqus not associating my response with the message to which I was responding may have discouraged me from commenting some of the times, but with your help I may know have that problem solved.

  • Ha! Drrty boy. 😛

  • Big G, Good one, can’t wait to try Barbera d’alba. I don’t know why I haven’t in the past, but I guess so many wines, so little time.

QOTD: I started watching around EP 170 and then I went back and watched from #1. So all would be my answer.

  • Anonymous

    Love the barbera!

QOTD: probably 600+ started real early, took a break for 6 mo or so, but now back with a vengeance!
