Line of the day – ‘I start making kangaroo references that piss off Australia.’

Always love these on location episodes although could’ve done with Mott at the beginning when the light wasn’t right, GV looked like he was in a shadow.

  • Great show, Happy Birthday!!!!!!! Love the Tastingroom.com concept, I believe that’ ll revolutionize the wine world, whether they like it or not 🙂

Sejt. Hvad render du rundt i New Jersey for? Altså siden det er flere gange.
Og ja, det an der vist ikke være tvivl om.

Happy 5th B-Day, Gary & Mott. You have done a great job and changed many wine palettes/perceptions along the way. I’m so glad to hear that this won’t be over after 5 years. I agree, it’s still gaining fire and is going strong. I hope you can keep up the pace!

QTD – Episodes with your father. Each one is uniquely special in that it incorpoates a loving bond besides discussing the finer points of wine. Truly special moments!

God Bless! Thanks for all you have done!

    Great show!

Awesome show! Congrats, and thanks for 5 years of edutainment!

Loved this – you should feel quite please with yourself. WLTV integrates so many different personalities and professions around a common passion – in vino veritas my friend

QOTD – any episode with Sasha – everyone a delight to watch!

Cool show. Always love a behind the scenes tour. I’ve been watching for 3 years now and have seen both the show and you grow in your on-screen personality and your business demeanor. Well done and congrats.

QOTD – Too many to choose one.

  • you are right, he has not nailed us in a while…

  • Good recommendations from the crew….also, keep your eyes peeled for tastings at local wine shops or restaurants, it’s a great way to try new stuff in the field, and usually whomever is pouring will be able to provide good info to pair with the wine.

  • wow…15.1% on the Pinot and still balanced…sounds dangerous.

When it comes to wine, you are bigger than Oprah. Thanks for keeping the ball rolling, and taking us along with you. This show is aging very well.

QOTD: oh, tough question…guests…the heavy hitters like Kermit Lynch and Heidi Barrett, jorge ordonez…Jennifer Simonetti-Bryan, and sabering the bubbly bottle.
Your solos outside the library, like wines on a plane, wines in the weather, tasting with the riesling queen.
Too tough…no single moment stands over the collection of so many great ones, and the moment I most cherish, is the opening of the next show.
    Cheers!

  • Great Anniversary Gary!
QOTD: I’m biased here but I like the Virginia episodes (they’re getting better! try some NC wines!!)
CKC from Virginia Tech! Come down and celebrate your 1000 episode!

Mott’s (sp?) absence was very obvious today, WLTV just isn’t the same without him…

Thanks Gary for 5 years to serious thunder!

QOTD: I loved the episode (or were there two) on okanagan wines. The Wayne Gretzky episode was also pretty cool (even though he may have had a few too many sippy-sips before filming).

Gary congrats man. everybody i introduce the show to loves it and instintly becomes a fan…you’re seriously one entertaining guy, and i think this is really just the start…i’m sure you’ll be getting paid big bucks from the big boy networks soon. Q of the day- being a canadian, it;s got to be the Wayne Gretzky episode…really funny stuff, either Gretzky was drunk or hung over or really weirded out by you…really loved it. YA CHEERS BROTHER! Rock out some Canadian Wines Soon, not nearly enough Canadian wines on the show.

What’s up Matt from Canada, where ya from dude.

This is what the comment section is all about. Feedback to GV and also building a community. We fans here in Northern California just had our first “Vayniac Wine Summit” meeting in the Bay Area (thanks castello), and are planning another in Las Vegas this October (thanks “JustJack” Norton). btw As you may have seen from some of the other recent comments, the words “spit” and “bucket” will be prominently featured in Las Vegas… 🙂
    Cheers to our Canadian friends!

Your cereal and wine pairing was a classic. I like the idea that you interviewed the creator of Captain Crunch, but I liked the execution of your eating of the Crunch and drinking the Chardonnay even better.

  • Charlotte K. Jensen

Kender og kender er mÃ¥ske ogsÃ¥ en overdrivelse. Han har serveret vin for mine venner og jeg til div. arrangementer, sidst hvor jeg selv var “vært”.
Historie. Total nørdet. Måske derfor ikke så overraskende med vininteressen. he he.

  • Charlotte K. Jensen

So what do U think it is?

  • Hey Gary V 5 years that pretty epic. I have a proposition even more epic for you, if you come visit us at Virginia Tech we basically all get A’s in Boyer’s class. Just think about how awesome it would be to have the power to give a class of about 500 students all A’s just for showing up for a day.
    CKC’s VT… congrats!

    Happy 5th anniversary Gary!!! Huge!!!
QOTD: best episode, ufff, tough one, maybe 820 with your dad, and 947 with the owner of Lopez de Heredia.

  • Anonymous

Congratulations on your anniversary! Well-earned compliments from all around the world. Fascinating how popular you’ve become in such a short time.
QOTD: lots of episodes when you do weird stuff like “How Does The Weather Affect Wine?” – Episode #182

  • Congratulations for the 5 years! Absolutely great job you are doing for the wine world!
QOTD: Lopez de Herendia, #947. (I love Maria Jose style and believes).
Awesome idea those samples, I have been thinking about it for such a long time, now I know that exists.

For at købe vin i WL, selvfølgelig! Og nÃ¥ ja, sÃ¥ har jeg familie i nærheden… 🙂

    Phenomenal to hit 5. Congrats.
Glad you’ve still got the energy to keep going. The wine world could use a little more changing.

We haven’t even started in the UK….

    Alex

P.S. If you’re doing CKC visits, come to Oxford after Virginia?

  • mazel mazel mazel….cant stop now when you’re riding high amongst the waves (ok, that’s a pearl Jam reference). Now if u can get Eddie Vedder on the show, then you’ve reached the pinnacle. Who else goes through 2 bottles per concert?

I still think my fav episode is the “train your palate” series

Hi brad – I’m from Vancouver. I’ve been a Thunder Show addict for the past 18 months or so (although I’ve been a lurker for the past 17 of them). Where are you from?

  • Anonymous

    Brad,
didn’t realize you made your Gretzky comment before me… I guess us Canadian folks think on similar lines.

  • Anonymous

Thanks Randall – I’ve been loving your comments recently. The interchange between you and OregonWineGuy after the last episode evoked some laughs on my end.

Nice show (lighting could have been better) and congratulations for 5 years of great wine shows! I KNOW that good white wines can last and age and the first two wines here have my interest and I love this anniversary deal at The TastingRoom!

QOTD: I don’t know if I could pick one moment. But the one where you prove how the Riedel stemware does make a difference in how the wine tastes!

  • Fav moment, Kermit Lynch. Learned a lot about wine, and a legend. So classy, also loved Brian Loring and his take on wine. Became a big fan of his stuff after that show…

  • d’oh! On the same day that WLTV enjoys it’s 5th birthday, Jo Diaz dismisses all of GV’s innovations, and disses him at the same time, in one short comment on her blog.

  • Don’t encourage him. He’s too much of a trouble maker for my “pah-lette” ;-P

  • Here’s two words “sharpee” and “pen” ;-P

  • I want more comments for my 5 year!

  • Congrats on 5 years!!!!!!! That’s so exciting!

  • I want more videos here and on garyvaynerchuk.com. 😉
We are such needy things aren’t we Gary? 😛

  • GV…comment from the white burgandy episode. Massages are great but go all the way and get a great adjustment/ manipulation from a great Chiropractor…that would be me….I make house calls, even if they are 3 hours away….seriously! Next time I’m coming to the City I would love to hook you up!

Answer to question of the day:
My favorite moment from the past 5 years has got to be the episode where you drank bourbon and lamented the loss of the Jets. I almost wet my pants laughing!!! Better season next year?

  • Anonymous

QOTD: HAS to be the episode where you drank bourbon and lamented the loss of the Jets. I almost wet my pants laughing. Sorry. Better season next year???/
