  • nice show, and a crisp one at that!
QOTD: well, in general the show inspires me to check out new things on a regular basis, even if it is not the same brand…however, I do have a memory of a show with a great value play, and quick supply at WLTV…
2006 La Mano Roble Mencia episode #608

Thought about it; Not a wine, but a region, Portugal. Thnx GV! :0)

so, any hint as to what’s going down for #1000?

  • Hey Gary, Looks like you’re coming out of a snow storm !!! Hope you had fun in Toronto today if you made it! I didn’t Everything is completely jammed here in Montreal…
The best ones that I had… humm will sound weird but it is your Sherry suggestions… It is a wine that nobody drinks but only cooks with it but when you take the time to pick a nice one, it is incredible the ROI you get from it. Cheers!

    ep. 821 http://tv.winelibrary.com/2010/02/24/cabernet-sauvignon-values-from-around-the-world-episode-821/

classic G. Mispronounced wine names, over use of the word “literally”, and genuine G enthusiasm.

Haven’t had that much actually, but these two wines I had to get after watching the show. Palladius is not cheap, but definitely one of the most existing white wines I’ve had. And yes, white wine is underrated.

I love the context comment. Well put. Having food with it puts it in better context I think.
QQTD: I had to think about it for about 15 seconds because I have bought a BUNCH of wine from Wine library. Right now it’s definitely the Betz blend, Clos de Betz. I bought a couple and had to order more. Yum! My friend said it’s buttery smooth and I can’t think of a better descriptor except that it is so well balanced that I want to drink it all the time.

  • QOTD: 2007 Amavi Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon or NV Jose Dhondt Blanc de Blancs!!!!

    Thanks GV!

When you said the whole thing in the beginning about if we remember anything it’s that white wine is grossly underrated, it made me wonder for a sec if you put it that way because you might be planning to sign off after # 1000.

qotd: There’s a few, the most recent one that comes to mind is Chateau Pibarnon Bandol, and I’m an absolute sucker for Bandol. It’s one wine I check for every single time I go into a wine shop.

Cool episode, nice to see a shorter 2 wine episode after having a long two part guest episode. Really like the balance there.
A lot of us are really familiar with your love for Sancerre and have seen them on here quite a bit. If you have one on again how about a Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc standoff? You could do a Sancerre vs. Pouilly Fume vs. Quincy vs. Menetou-Salon vs. Reuilly.

Great show today. Made my Monday even better.

QOTD: I just started WLTV a month ago (working on the 2007 shows now). I haven’t had any of the wines on the show yet. But everyone sure is giving me great ideas on what ones to buy. It is like the best of WLTV in the comments today. This is great!

QOTD: I thought about it for a couple of minutes, but as soon as it came to me, I couldn’t believe that I didn’t think of it right away. It was a Pic St. Loop. I got it in the club, and had to order more. AWESOME.
Keep up the great work, almost to 1000. Ive been taking breaks from work to watch this show since 2007. Episode, like 70 something. Ever since I said to myself… “Robert Parker gave this wine a 93 and I personally gave it a 80. I wish that I could have seen him do this tasting, and decide… that wine is one of the best that I have ever had.” I then googled video wine tasting, and your show was the first thing that came up. I watched 42 episodes that day, and haven’t looked back once.

I hope not, I’m not into spoilers personally

    2004 Poggione Brunello. !

QOTD: I’ve never had a wine based on the thunder show. And any that I would have tried based on the show, I had already tasted the wine by the point it was reviewed.

  • Matt

QOTD: Any wine from Kosta Browne

  • Anonymous

Decent short, tight show. Honestly, I tought all the shows leading up to 1000 would rip face; this one was a little short of Face Off.

QOTD: I had not tried too much from Alsace before I started watching the show; and for that, I thank you!

  • Anonymous

Nice tight show! Really enjoyed it, but, the 5 minutes is a bit short for my liking. I do like the Sancerre in general, but a good Vouvray kills it hands down.

QOTD: That is easy for me. Definitely the Amavi Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington and you have recommended many great ones. 😉

  • ALLAN

    HaHaHa x 1000 :)))

    We’ll see you all at the 1000th show… ” CAN’T WAIT !!! ”

  • John__J

That’s pretty impressive when you consider that you were contending with all those Virginia Tech visit requests too

The 999 should definitely be a COUUUUCCCHHHH ! SHHOOOWWW!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Wait a minute! Is #1000 going to be on a, dare I say it, “Laid Back Friday”? This could be “EPIC”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, damn , that was early, havent even finished my monday night work yet.
    Have to finsih that, brb.

  • I’m crossing my toes for Randy Macho Man Savage rolling into the Wine Library for a tasting….

  • Best I have had from this show, 2008 Lewis Napa Cabernet. UNreal. many have bought it now because of me and because of this show. The 08 Booker White was awesome too

  • Good, tight show. I love Sancerre but I do wish they’d come in at a slightly lower price point…

QOTD: There have been a few, but that Gigondas you tasted with Kermit Lynch is one that is really sticking out right now. I went out and bought one, tasted it, and went out and got another 6 (which is EXTREMELY rare for me).
