Anxious to watch the 1000th episode, and at the same time sad for the catastrophe that hit JAPAN. Brazil?s thoughts and prayers are with you!!!

    . . .

Thanks GV for another Great Vayniac Show to end the run to the 1000th Episode!!
Finishing with ?Mott? was a nice touch, GV.

QOTD1: GV will buy the NY JETS, and they will win the Super Bowl.
QOTD2: I liked a lot all the Vayniacs Shows, but the 998 was the most FUN.
QOTD3: Not yet tasted any WS wines. Sorry.

  • I’ve hinted here about getting “him” on for the big show. I’m hoping so much that….I think I’m gonna be disappointed with #1,000 if The Macho Man Randy Savage doesn’t show up

  • For the 1000th, I’m expecting Gary to bust out some jeroboams of Petrus and Lafite and some Cristal magnums….lol…jk…I’m sure it will be great!

  • Anonymous

Really looking forward to the rose.
QOTD 1 No, but I hope he at least gets a piece of them
QOTD 2 Tough call, but I think being in the peanut gallery for 998 would have been the most fun
    QOTD 3 Apex
Glad disqus finally let me in!

Kudos to all the senior Vayniac forum members! Wish we all could have been there

  • Love to have Sasha on WITH the Macho Man Randy Savage. Tell me Gary, Sasha, and Randy Savage wouldn’t be EPIC

I can not believe I am not on, nor was I even considered to be on any of these shows. Even though I don’t know shi* about wine…..I think I’m a pretty nice guy…LOL

And it actually S**ks that I am not having all the fun those guys are…. let alone tasting all those outragous wines. I guess you will just have to have me on the 1100th show.

Guess I have to start going on the forums….

Or as Charlie would say…….I’m not WINNING!!!!!! when it comes to being a repeat guest.

    πŸ™

QOTD: I have to say…I loved #868 show….. that is the 868th show if you didn’t catch that the first time. But of course that was 25 pounds ago and a few hair cuts ago as well…… did I mention I liked #868 show the best.

    πŸ™‚

    Can’t wait till tomorrow…..!!!

PS: Congradulatons Homey on your milestone 1000th show and of all your hard work you put into this. It does not go unaprecieated…!!!!!! We love you Brother….!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ToddT

    Another good show GV!
QOTD1: Think of the wine selection the concessions booth would have if he did own the team!
QOTD2: The energy on all the shows were great. the first two were the most rowdy.
QOTD3: 08 Owen Roe Dubrul cab sauv. I remember thinking too much oak, and not enough going on for the $65 price tag.

  • Leatherpalate

Will Gary own the Jets- I don’t think the Jets will hit the market.
Best show! 2 by far.. Great to see Winesteins Rose show so well!!
Last washington wine was a 99 Betz or a 03 Cayuse werd

  • Wienstein!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You rocked the show today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to represent Washington State, Baby. Congrats on Gary liking the Rose. That took balls. You know he would have bashed you to your face if he didn’t. I hope you sell out in 24 hours now. Way to bring the THUNDER with the Leo and awesome spit bucket dig. Good job speaking up for WL having a small section of WA wines. Everywhere I go it’s the same. (Exception is AJ’s Fine Foods in Tucson, they have a lot of premium WA wines) You did us proud!

QOTD1: How awesome would it be if Gary owned and Rex Ryan coached? Talk about loud.
QOTD2: This one. They’ve all been great, though. I really hope this format gets used more often than once in a 1000 shows.
QOTD3: 2006 Abeja Cab. I am proud to say I have drank an enormous amount of WA juice and it’s my favorite wine in the world. Especially WA syrahhhhhhhhh. (I grew up in Cali, so I am a convert. Boo to Cali oak monsters)

Spit on or in the bucket, where’d that come from?

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

    Holla!

I see someone threw a RosΓ¨ in the mix…..good call! And I ses it showed well by the comments. Ok….time to watch…

QOTD 1: That’s for GV to answer.
QOTD 2: I enjoyed yesterday’s as I might actually be able to afford one of the wines tasted.
QOTD 3: I mentioned this in an earlier comment, but my last Washington state wine was the ’06 L’Ecole No. 41 Walla Walla Valley Cab.

  • What a set of eps…great to place faces to names.

    QOTD1: Why not?
QOTD2: Tough call…liked them all for different reasons like variety, comedy, tasting notes.
QOTD3: Like mattgmann, Kung Fu Girl.

  • Anonymous

Hard call as I have liked all of the episodes. GV will want to own the Jets but no sure he will ever have the bones to make that kind of purchase. Last Washington state wine was Betz family red, but also in the last 2 weeks have had 2 Charles Smith Wines and a Quelcida Creek 1999. I think Washington state is producing the best red wines in the US right now. So, the RosΓ© I guess would be considered a rosato.

    Hey another great ep.
My answers: No, but he’ll try; #996 ; can’t remember.

  • Anonymous

QOTD: This is the best show of this most excellent series. That’s because of the great guests, of course, but also because I am definitely wanting to know if Gary buys the Jets (and what he can do with them if he does….), but also I am really interested in trying an excellent Sangiovese rose for 17 bucks. Great show and I cant wait for #1000…

  • Great way to wrap up the week…

    QOTD1: Yes
    QOTD2: 999.. least pretentious bunch πŸ˜‰
QOTD3: L’Ecole Merlot.. just this last weekend!

  • QOTD1: Eventually, yes.
QOTD2: Hmm, can’t pick just one actually.
QOTD3: oh my, great question- I bought a Mercer a long time ago, it was awesome, had it with home made hamburgers.

The magic number has arrived: 1000. Congratulations GV and The Vaynernation!

qotd1: Certainly has the passion, would make a great owner.
qotd2: This one because I would have felt more comfortable sitting at this table.
qotd3: Poets leap Riesling. Looking forward to the Long Shadows reds. Hope I won’t be disappointed, they are a little spendy for my budget.
On a side note…I’ll be in Woodinville next week I’m going to try to set up a visit to Kaella.

  • That would be epic though I want to see little Mischa. The first featured woman of this past week manfest.

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

Excellent show, gents! Each guy brought something different to the table and it all blended together very well. Great group of guys!

    Goodbye #999…..HELLO #1000!

  • I think the Wine Lib just dropped roughly $1500 this week on wine. I don’t know what else to say.

Yes I think gary will own the Jets.

  • Nick

Great ultimate show before hitting the 1000. I must say this show might have been the best of all the ‘wltv & friends’.

  • Anonymous

    QOTD 1: Yes
2: This one. Great group of guys, varied wine selections, an actual winemaker and didn’t waste any time jumping right into the tasting.
    3. Reininger or Tamarack Cellars

  • Anonymous

IN THE BAG! Or as the say in LA, IN THE CAN!

  • John__J

alright, only 1 more to go!

  • Perfect way to go into the thousands. Each episode was so different. Seemed like the energy of each group paired up very well.

    1. At this rate there may be no more NFL. Of course I also thought hockey was gonna be gone too.

    2. I will count the whole week as one big episode.

    3. Andrew Will Champoux vineyard (I really like K Vintners and Charles Smith too.)

  • Anonymous

Very Nice! I totally enjoyed every episode! Well put together G and those that made it happen, “kudos”! I’m a little “verklempt”! NOSTROVIA!

Dave “Winestein”, you really were a great guest and I’m sure a great guy, enjoyed your comments. I will definitely search your wines out.

QOTD 1: No, I think Gary is smarter than that. πŸ˜‰
QOTD 2: Each show was good in its own right, but for me, it had to be 908
QOTD 3: 2007 Amavi Cellars Cab Sauv and I still have a few more to go.

  • *muffles answer* πŸ˜›

  • Too bad you were not there to help Kmurph keep them on their toes Cindy. πŸ˜‰

  • That Rose looked amazing! Nice job! πŸ™‚

  • These shows didnt teach me a whole lot, but they left me feeling good.

Nice group today! My last Wa. wine was a Nicholas Cole. The bad news is that the are pulling the plug πŸ™

There’s no “might” about it. This WAS the show to watch. πŸ˜‰ It was a riot to watch all of it. If anyone is ever presented with the opportunity, just jump on it. It’s a blast.

Missed you, Pete. We will pour some wine together, my friend. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

    Winestein: 2006 Snoqualmie Vineyards Merlot

Watched all four shows and I have to say it was a little to clicky for me. I guess thats why I stopped going to the forums a long time ago, also. I will occasionally watch GV on his shows, but I have for the most part moved on from this environment.
