EP 1000 Episode 1,000

Gary Vaynerchuk has finally made it to episode 1,000 of Wine Library TV! It’s been an amazing ride since that day in February 2006, with great guests, amazing (and sometimes awful) wines, as well as a lot of Jets talk. Today, the main focus is a huge thank you to all the Vayniacs who helped make this community…and a huge announcement from Gary.

Wines tasted in this episode:

2008 Jerome Prevost La Closerie Les Beguines BrutFrench Brut Vintage

You are too funny, TP. User error.. I didn’t realize that If I updated profile with Lisa S that it would appear here. When tried to enter it as a Username, it said it was already taken (by me… as it recognizes my yahoo acct). I realize how boring this is as i write it. No need to respond. 😐

    Damn kids.

Who knows, but the lights are still on here. You never know, GV could change his mind AGAIN. WLTV could be up and running again in no time!!

Good on ya Mott, keep working hard for the money.

Sounds like you need a vacation.

We are still here, perhaps if we comment regularly enough this site will keep going for all eternity; providing judgment day does not occur on Saturday.

I think I was on vacation for 7 months, but not of my own doing and not very enjoyable. Been working now for just over 2 mo. 🙂

I to like the all the people of our little group! 😉

Thanks Mott! That brought a smile to my face. 🙂

    Lisa, WE LOVE YOU! 😉

  • We are “getting by” without you but it’s tough. Glad to see you stop by to dust off the shelves and get the mail.

    We miss you. 🙁

  • A “work in progress” like the Mona Lisa? Can one improve on perfection?

  • I have no life so I sift through them all on WL. Much easier here than on DG for sure.

I wonder where that setting would be located to get the notifications? When I go to comment, DISCUS throws me to twitter, I log in and then it throws me back here. A seamless process.

  • You may have answered your own question: “tech problem” 😉

    Who knows.

  • I would. 😉

  • I can only imagine what you may be going through making these life-changing decisions. I’m sure it will work out wonderfully for you. Good luck and by all means, remain on good terms with the owner. I thought they were great people after meeting them only once as an overnight customer.

Yes, Savage River is very nice and worth checking out. I highly recommend it.

They are not too far from Deep Creek Lake and you can take an excursion to one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s creations called Fallingwater. It was the weekend home of the Kaufmann’s from Pittsburgh. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallingwater

Good luck in your new endeavor.

    Cheers!

  • Ding! ding! ding! You are good. 🙂

I will go buy the follow-up book now.

And being the pimp I am for my doubles partner, I just received my copy yesterday.

  • I replied to this but went to the top of the comments?

But you’re right. I will buy his follow-up for sure.

  • I’m a pro at “speed dating.” It usually goes like this:
“Would you like to go out on a date?” “No!”

Can’t get much speedier than that! 🙂

Hilarious! However, I don’t believe it for a minute! You exude charm. 😉

  • Lisa S

Nope… It does sound interesting though.
Probably not my cup of tea.

  • Lisa S

Lucky you! DI rocks! He has a nice voice, too.

Speaking of books, I just ordered a copy of “Wine and War” from Amazon.
    Thx for recommending it, D.

  • Lisa S

    Love ya, Dan!

  • Lisa S

🙂 You always know just what to say!

Speaking of the Mona Lisa, I need to go to Paris soon!!! More about this later. 😉

  • After reading that book, I believe you will have a newfound appreciation for the bubbly. A great read.

Let me know what you think of it.

  • Maybe for a “Laid Back Friday with Cinc”? I’m going to the big boy wine shop tomorrow (working from home) and will pick up some goodies.

  • I’ve used that adjective in the past but under different circumstances. 😉

  • To my palate, they are both amazing bottles of peenot but “different” styles to me. If you twisted my arm, I would go with Selyem. Sea Smoke wins the “most gorgeous label” award though hands down.

  • Vedddddy interesting. Based on the title and comments, I see that the topic of the day over at DG is “CA Chards” and “Music.” Coincidence since those specific topics/QOTDs were discussed over here in the “stainless steel think tank” during the past 24 hrs? Homey don’t think so.

Only thing different is William Hill wasn’t reviewed.

I will watch later with glass in hand. 😉

  • Lisa S

    Agree (about the label)!

  • John__J

I’ve had that happen to me before to, where a reply just goes to the top.

That’s sage advice Dom and something I’ve always tried to do. I’m still on great terms with the owner, in fact he requested I be his rep if possible. So I’ll probably still be going up there every couple weeks.

  • John__J

    lol I’ve had those too!

  • John__J

I’m not planning on going anywhere

  • John__J

Hey Mott, nice seeing you pop in over here!

  • John__J

That’s awesome Mott. It’s always great to read yours.

  • John__J

lol there is some truth to that

  • John__J

and there’s nothing wrong with one changing ones mind. (Especially if a 1001 does happen to pop up over here on day.)

  • He is the nicest, least pretentious (other than moi) guy I know given his stature in the grand scheme of things as one would say.

I will take a pic this weekend of us on the tennis court having him sign my book and if I don’t look too bad, will send along. 😉

  • John__J

and thanks for letting me know about the Savage River Lodge, I’ll have to check that out.

  • Lisa S

Oh please do!!! I think DI and I have something in common. I noticed it when you sent the wikipedia link a couple of weeks ago. We’re both of Armenian descent. I think I had heard this before, but forgot. Anyway, in spite of that, I’m glad to hear that he’s nice and unpretentious. 🙂
