EP 1000 Episode 1,000

Gary Vaynerchuk has finally made it to episode 1,000 of Wine Library TV! It’s been an amazing ride since that day in February 2006, with great guests, amazing (and sometimes awful) wines, as well as a lot of Jets talk. Today, the main focus is a huge thank you to all the Vayniacs who helped make this community…and a huge announcement from Gary.

Wines tasted in this episode:

    Where’s Mott ?????

Mott, I see you lurking. Come out, come out, where ever your at πŸ˜‰

You know Mott posting by WL staff is encouraged over at DG. So we encourage it here at WLTV, your alma mater πŸ˜‰

Whatcha up too??? R U writing a behind the scenes book on the rise of WLTV and DG ??? I’m sure you have so much info !!!

  • Anonymous

What ?? you didn’t get the memo πŸ˜‰

  • Anonymous

As you recall we wanted you there ;-)’S You will be missed and for sure you will be there in spirit πŸ˜‰

  • Anonymous

    wish I had a recommendation ;-(

  • Anonymous

How’s the new job ? You kicking booty out of the gate ? πŸ˜‰ I’m sure you will excel. Good luck !!!

  • John__J

Awesome, don’t forget to post a review. And don’t slip up and accidentally post your like and edit button’s request over here! πŸ™‚

  • John__J

Way easier. Dan’s busy making a “like and “edit” button request over at DG πŸ™‚

  • John__J

“Like”, oops I can do that over here. Seriously, I wonder what is taking them so long to get that up over there. As much as I kid, I’m glad you’re still requesting it. I accidentally wrote “pooped” over there the other day went I meant to say “popped” when talking to Randall lol

  • John__J

That is one of the best. But that’s a broad question to pick a fav out of over 1000 ep’s.

  • John__J

One episode I never got to see on here and I’m sure I’ll never see on DG is Sasha making an appearance when SIR Gary is on the show. Only because I’d love to see Sasha’s reaction to it and see how long it takes before Sasha just gets up and leaves the room!

Reminds me, it’s no question that everyone loves Sasha. But what do you guys think of SIR Gary? He seems to be someone folks either like or don’t like without much in between.
Personally I like seeing him once in a while. He cracks me up at how he parodies how stuck up some people can be in the wine community.

  • John__J

Mott’s pretty elusive and it seems you never know when he just may pop in

  • John__J

Tell me about it. Execedrin has become a great early morning friend of mine over the years.

  • John__J

wow that’s the longest thread of comments I’ve ever seen on here. (So I had to add one more to it.)

  • John__J

To heck with 3000! I want to at least see 10,000 and bring it up to 5 figures!

  • ALLAN2.0

Good enough, I’ll see you back in about a year or so? πŸ™‚

  • ALLAN2.0

    Get on it!! πŸ™‚

  • don’t like Nadal, he crushed SΓΆderling

  • it is easy to be humble when you live in wine country eh?

  • Lisa S

Hahahahaha! Oh Dan, you are sweet (Sounds like I wasn’t the only one who had copious amounts of wine this weekend!)

A lot in common? Yeah, I wish!!!
I think I was in high school when she was born. πŸ™‚

  • Lisa S

    πŸ˜‰

  • Amen to that. Man oh man. He spanked Federer like a newborn.

  • Dagger! Make me feel really bad on a Monday afternoon! πŸ˜‰

  • That Buehler “chick” was something else for sure. I cringed during the entire show.

Her only saving grace (which I’m sure she figured out long ago) is her family is well-to-do and she is pretty hot.

  • I tried, believe me, I would love to attend.

  • πŸ™‚ I feel better now. Thank you

  • So today is Sweden’s national day, (the equiv of independence day) which means that this monday are work free for a lot of folks. For me too. went down to city center and a park there where the city had an arrangement of different things, music, parade, and the politicians offered ice cream to all kids and coffee to all grown ups.

Nice warm and sunny weather. After a couple of hours heading home to dinner. My lovely had plans for me to grill some pork loin and she made at potato salad with fresh (new) potato (I guess most people haven’t had new potatoes, It’s this years crop harvested really early just 1-2 months after planting). In the salad you throw some leek, pickled onions, capers and pan fried pork. Add some mustard and yogurt to that .
well to that meal I thought, what wine should one open. I chose 1996 Chateau de Haux, my “own” brand. A cheap bordeaux wine so I had a bit of trepidation opening the bottle, it might be really bad. But alas, no. Yes it was red dirty color and quite light, could see my fingers through it. With that a murky nose of mushroom, dirt, white pepper and ceder box. Some faint traces of blackcurrant and cherry, but mainly a dry stinky nose. Tastewise thou it was great. , a bit light but dry. plum, raspberry lemonade withe white pepper and a bit of dry wood. The taste hold through mid palate an back en, finished medium long with a bit of mushroom in the mix. But a lot more delightful than the young ones Ive tried. I must remember to drink old wines more often, if I can get hold of some.

    Cheers

Yes Dominus, she is quite a looker πŸ˜‰

  • ALLAN2.0

Helen made a remark that; Its not that expensive to produce a bottle of wine, and that has stuck with me-.

  • John__J

Going well thanks! Nice to have a job that focuses strictly on wine.

  • That is a really inspiring “events of the day” note to the TTF. Thank you and Happy National Day.

It sounds like it was quite memorable with some good food, wine and your “lovely.”

    Kudos to you.

    Cheers!

P.S. I just devour the “red dirty color” wines. I can picture it now. πŸ˜‰

  • Matt came out today on DG. Hallelujah!

  • Nadal is a beast. You have to admire his fortitude and shot-making. Truly amazing.

  • “Age” is irrelevant. That’s what I keep telling myself every morning when I look in the mirror. πŸ™‚

    Lisa = Lima
Just change one letter yet they are both the same! πŸ™‚

  • We are so fortunate. Thank you all for sticking this out on this great community.

Cheers to GV and Mott for not shutting it down!

  • He’s back at DG tonight. πŸ™‚

…. and to Dominus DG point …. also with an ICE cold glass of milk (small bits of crushed ice in the glass).

Can you imagine how great that would all be after a great early morning workout ? πŸ˜‰

  • Anonymous

TTF … taste buds are getting restless πŸ˜‰ t minus 48 hrs …..

…. but what up with that funky camera angle ????? πŸ˜‰

  • John__J

When the cookies are right out of the oven the milk is an absolute MUST. As popular as it is though, I can’t get into having my cookie touch the milk until they’re both in my stomach.

In his prime, no doubt about it !!!

  • Lisa S

  • thanks.
I have to hit auctions harder to get hold of old ones. To bad there is only 4 auctions a year in this forsaken country.
