EP 1000 Episode 1,000

Gary Vaynerchuk has finally made it to episode 1,000 of Wine Library TV! It’s been an amazing ride since that day in February 2006, with great guests, amazing (and sometimes awful) wines, as well as a lot of Jets talk. Today, the main focus is a huge thank you to all the Vayniacs who helped make this community…and a huge announcement from Gary.

Wines tasted in this episode:

2008 Jerome Prevost La Closerie Les Beguines BrutFrench Brut Vintage

    We all love Kmurph!

QPR is right up your alley. 😛

  • Love you too! Congratulations! I can’t wait to see what’s next.

  • The luck of a thousand shamrocks to you, Gary.

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

All I can say is THANK YOU, Gary!

Now, over to the daily grape….

  • Gary you have indeed changed the wine world! Congrats! Off to the Daily Grape! Looking forward to the next chapter!

  • Standing O from The Rock. Wishing you great success with Daily Grape and I look forward to getting started this time with Episode Numero Uno.

  • The statement of the day is echoed back 😉

  • I hope when you said “a 40 minute sitdown” is now difficult, you meant for you personally because you are insanely busy.
If people in general can’t take 30 or 40 minutes a day to relax and do something they enjoy, be it yoga/meditation, surfing, reading a book or watching WLTV, then our civilization has a problem.
I love being on the go (and smart phones) as much as the next person, but balance is key.

  • Gary, 4 years ago I “stopped bye” to check out the crazy wine guys video… Today, I’m not only a fan of all things Vaynerchuk, I’m a loyal Wine Library customer. Special shout out to my man Ian Dorin, who has become my go-to guy! Thanks for the amazing content, but more important for caring enough to truly make a difference! Thanks, it’s been a hell of a ride! All the best to you and yours… Always, Mike K

  • Thanks for all the knowledge and information you have passed down over the years. I started watching while I was in college and was quickly singled out by my friends as the guy who knows about wine. Well several years later, I still try and keep up, and keep changing the wine world. Thanks Gary!

  • Thanks for giving us this show! I just stumbled upon a few months ago when I googled something about a wine review. I’m now enjoying the world of wine more than ever.

No Gary: THANK YOU! I have been watching for like 700 episodes and have learned so much from watching. It has been an absolute pleasure and I look forward to the future.

First of all, the lurkers have to say something, if we can’t get Gary a 1000 comments, then we have failed.

Congratulations from Germany on a fantastic show that already became a classic! and, of course, all the best wishes for your new format “daily grape” – I’m seriously considering to buy an iPhone (naw, just kidding).

  • once again. congrats bro. on 1000 and on the future!

  • Wait *sniffle* No more *snort* LurkerKing *tear* challenges?

    *puts blanket over head*

    WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

    *snot runs down nose*

Final answers (maybe) *starts sobbing again*

    1. Julian Assange
    2. Tiger’s Blood
    3. Brandon Warnakie (forgive spelling)

  • Holy Cow, I got username Jay! I feel so special. All the other Jay’s out there that want my username can suck it!
Congratulations GV! Pretty sure I have watched about 87% of your episodes. Lots of information and learning has passed through this interweb into my head.
Going to love the quick episodes at the DailyGrape. Fired Up!
Thanks Gary for all the wine love you gave us all.

  • Cool – grabbed Stephen on Daily Grape! exciting.. looking forward to taggin along on your new journey

  • Kmurph

don’t worry! we won’t stop doing vids here from the WL staff. 🙂

  • Jay

Be thankful I didn’t watch the show yesterday for whatever reason 😉

  • Ah…. you’re making me well up! You’re the greatest Gary. You’ve taught me so much about staying positive and having a good mental attitude. More than the (fantastic) wine knowledge, I’ve learned about creating and presenting a good personal brand. This has been a terrific voyage. Thank you for bringing me along with you.

Wit Wah…disappointing episode since it seemed to be a very special episode but ended with a commercial for the book, too bad. On the positive side, let’s see how daily Grape can be even better than wltv?? Good luck GV we’ll keep watching and commenting!

  • BRAVO GV!! Bought the book to commemorate this occasion. I remember finding out about the show via an AD in Wine Spectator Magazine 4+ years ago–haven’t missed an episode since. Thank you so much. Cheers!

Hey Gary and fellow Vayniacs, it’s like they say: all good things must come to an end. While I understand the need for a change, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up commenting on DailyGrape. I’m not a high tech guy and I’m already frustrated that it brings up my real name and not my username. What’s the point of having a username if it won’t use it? My name is Brunellofello and if I can’t use it I won’t comment. But I will keep watching and following the comments. Please remember that even though I am now a lurker, I will be there with you in spirit.

  • I can be bought.. I will sell it to you for a bag of bread and a deck of cards.

  • Congrats, Gary, on the switch to the Daily Grape! I produce a daily web show (Lake Tahoe Snow Report) and it’s quite the pace to keep, but fun and worth the effort! Cheers!

  • Well done Gary and terrific name with new venture. Also helps to differentiate from the store. Liked the way you brought on your long-time fans on for the lead-up to 1K. Thanks for introducing me to some wines and regions and adding to my wine education. Onward and upward to DAILY GRAPE…

  • Many, many thanks Gary!!! I will see you on Daily Grape and on Twitter. Keep an eye out for DeanMoriarty.

Hmm, seems I was just getting used to this format and now its time for more change ; )
Not being tech savvy or mobilely-enabled, I hope the show will still let us old-fashioned folks interact like before. My daughter was concerned that there would be “no more funny Gary”, so I’m glad you will be continuing your efforts.
BTW, how were the bubbles? Seems a shame to not review a nice Champagne.

  • Just hit me….kind of feels like we left the family room after all these years and now we’re going to eat in a new dining room….just takes a little getting used to.

  • I’m waiting to be comment 1000, KevO

Good run! I hope Daily Grape goes as well.

  • I stumbled upon you many moons ago on eat, drink or die and I couldn’t stop watching. There has always been something intriguing about wine, but it was never that inviting to me until those days. You spoke directly to me in an inviting and exciting way that has had me enjoying wine and your show and your tweets and your keynotes and your books and… …ever since.
Several hundred episodes later and your passion and compassion are contagious. Thank you for sharing and the value you add to my life and for just being you.

It was a great run! Thanks so much. See you on Daily Grape.

  • My man, you are very inspiring -even my dad thinks so. It is always good to check in with someone who is honestly passionate and not full of shit. Good luck!

It was a pleasure meeting you and all the other Vayniacs that were at our meet and greet; hopefully we will still have the “Vayniac” meet up in Vegas that I keep hearing about, even though our platform will technically not be the same. I understand about the user name, Even though I have not been a Cellar Rat for a while now, I still use the name.

I have to admit I am a little skeptical as well. I am all for evolution and innovation of technology, but where will this take “Gary” as an internet personality? Sure, he has always been about the hustle, and we would not have it any other way because that is who he is. However, I liked WLTV because all debate and “who started what for what reason” aside; it was a show about reviewing wines and expanding horizons in an entertaining and informative manner. Not to say the “daily” grape will be any different, but because of its new format one has to wonder if it will have the same spark WLTV did. I suppose I am a creature of habit, and no matter how positive I try and be am still somewhat of a cynic at heart, but hopefully there will be thunder emanating from my phone and the web once more.

Lurkers, if there was ever a time to come out, now would be it.

  • go to settings and switch the name and user names place. They mixed up in coding the fields correctly. The new platform is not ready yet, lots of features are not functioning properly, no search wine list, winereviews and score show strange and why no pictures of the labels? Will it be just all gary’s tasted wines or ? Lo’t od questions so far and the format also feels a bit to commercial at this point, but yes, I know he want’s to buy the jets and then cash is king.

You did a very good job throughout these years and I thank you for all your hard work and time. You are an inspiration to many and I gratefully appreciate it thank you Gary.

1000 episodes. Over 5 years that’s more than 1 episode every other day. I would say to do that for 5 years exemplifies how to humanize business and how to show appreciation to fans/friends. You have done more than change the wine world, my friend. Thank you, congratulations, and see you on DailyGrape.

Maybe its just me, but it feels weird over there. How can I respond to peoples posts? The twitter @ won’t work, because they will have to scroll through everything. I never though I would say this but I might like Discus now.

  • garym

Actually this is a great beginning. You are true to your TYE mindset while still committing to the one-on-one format for post 1000 WLTV. NOW would be a great time to introduce the first “Customer Appreciation” one-on-one episode that you said you would do. Your “Customer Appreciation guy. Garym

  • Brunellofello

Thanks alot AndersN. I know I overreacted and I am impatient at times. I will work on it. I don’t want to be left out. Thanks again!

Wow, numero 1,000! You /and we made it! Now you’re moving on to a true daily show w/ Daily Grape and no gripes from ole me! Just hope you keep all the archived shows so everyone has a wine guide that’s accessible. I noticed that some of the early shows aren’t archived so hope we can see those some time soon. Loved Wine Library and look forward to DG every day. Here’s a song for you by Buddy Holly:
