Good show. I love it when guests are on. You seem to up it another notch when theyre around. ( Again, MORE Sasha!) I expected to see a lot of OVER the top fruit bombs today, but it was nice that didnt happen. QOTD: Ive never been into beer. Ive had cheap and expensive, Bud amd mircorbews. Even Guiness. Beer doesnt do it for me at all.
  • Mickey Schotts
    QOTD: Paulaner Double Bock. . . . . . . . . . In a nice frosty Scooner. . . . . . . .
  • Ilse Wouters
Just discovered your show recently, and I like it...now trying to catch up. I'm a Belgian living in Spain, so I guess I have the best of both worlds : really good value for money wines (I challenge everyone with a 4.5€=6.5$ Campo de Borja for instance) and the BEST beers of the world. Twice a year I drive up/down between Belgium and Spain and you can bet my boot is full of alcohol! So : QOTD = my absolute favourite beer = Westvleteren 12, but since it was chosen best in a US competition, it's hard to get it (the monks don't brew more than absolutely necessary for breaking even), but it "civil" equivalent St Bernardus 12 is brilliant as well. Rochefort beers (also trappist beers) are equally wonderful. My favourite summer beer : a Hoegaarden white beer or a reddish Palm...

Liked the surprise the guest piece to that episode...

QOTD: Either Stella Artois or Fat Tire...
  • Tommy Vernieri
QOTD: I'm not much of a beer guy, but it would definitely be Red Oak. Too bad it's only sold in NC, and not even bottled at that.

Great show, I like the recap and it's always fun to see you talk through wine with a guest.

GV nice show I am very behind on the thunder show so i am trying to play catch up.... summer corona, winter sam adams winter logar...
  • Dan-o
Always cool to have a guest!
QOTD - Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome Ale
  • Blake W
First of all, GARY NEVER DISS ON THE STILLERS! I don't rag on the Jets, show some love.

QOTD: Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, the best beer out there!
  • damon aka unknownwine
I'm 9 shows behind, so I'll comment on every show now.

qotd...I prefer having the beer I make, mostly english style ales, but when I'm out I'm all over the map. Definitely into the 'craft' beers here in the us and traditional european styles. When I'm working outside on the car, I have to admit, I hit the Miller High Life. Make fun of me, go ahead.
  • Pardus
QOTD: An English EBS, an IPA or something like Sierra Nevada Ale.
  • Brossi
QOTD: Ommegang's Three Philosophers, a great Belgian Beer brewed in Cooperstown NY
  • Luis Felipe
Great episode, btw. QOTD - Leffe Brune, it tastes and smells like cloves to myself and my girlfriend. She prefers the Blonde.
  • Not only is Heathcote swamped by the Barossa and Mclaren Vale, there are quite a few other great Shiraz regions in Australia, that are quite unique, make some very classy wines with structure and character, not the overblown ballsy reds that are seen more in the US. Regions such as Mt Barker Western Australia, Mt Barker South Australia, Gippsland, The Grampians, these are just a few.

Oh, and Cascade Premium Ale from Tasmania. You now have another Aussie as a fan.
  • Luis Felipe
QOTD - Leffe Brune, it's simply delicious.
  • Maria
    James Squire Amber Ale.
Script below screen ? typo..."Austrian reds".

    Fun show!

Q-Good ?, summertime Corona Light, winter Sam Adams Light.
  • If I had to drink one beer a day, it'd have to be a Lindemans Framboise.
  • Vinacull
Good to know that we should lay down the HazyBlur for a few until it comes together. QOTD: Without question the Dogfish 90 minute IPA
  • Rogue Shakespeare Stout.
  • If I have to drink only beer for the rest of my life, it would probably have to be hefe-weizen. But can I please through some oatmeal stout in there for diversity?
  • My list of fav beers is longer than my list of fav wines, I'll spare ya'll the long list. I've been drinking them craft beers (aka micro-brews) since before it was legal for me to do so. IPAs are my top favorite!
  • I'm starting to think I like the new-world Shiraz style (as opposed to old-world Syrah, which I really like), although I've not had too many and there were a couple of crocks in there.

QOTD - Belgian ale and wheat beers, including German HefeWeizen. Yum!
  • BobMac
    QotD: Bass Ale
  • Mike Linquist
    Gary,
What a nice show offering the co-pilot's seat to a Vayniac. Nice. I felt I was invited to a private wine tasting and enjoyed the comraderie. Thanks for the shout out to Bern's in Tampa. Looking forward to your re-visit. Sold a '99 Sartori Corte Bra Amarone for $60.00, and a 1970 Haut Liberal.
Do you remember Fizzies? You might be too young. But the grape fizzies and root beer were my favs.

    i like sam adams, too
recently had a long neck bottle of the belgian chimay red
herbs & spices in the beer. delicious.
also had a belgian style beer from quebec which was expensive (yen1,100) but worth it.
recently i'm all over the belgians. could be a result of living in japan with their clean, crisp, flavor-challenged beers
    thanks for the shows
    mjr
  • What's "beer"?
  • kjemt
qotd...SAM ADAMS....My wife and I did a visit at Sam Adams...what a great tour...love the beer..love WINE more, but for beer it's Sam Adams!
  • David

  • Russ J
Cool show, in spite of the Cowboys fan! ;)

QOTD: Sierra Nevada IPA, always solid.
  • pawncop
Great show, good information and great fun.

QOTD - pretty plain Coors Original.
  • Shane
Good to see a fellow Boys fan. Gary, don't be jealous about our team. Lay off the Boys or we will send Pac Man to pay you a visit. Ha.
  • Patrick
    Yuengling. No doubt.
  • Dan NYC
I love beer too. Just waiting for another beer episode. QOTD: I would have to go with Dogfish head 90min IPA and maybe Samuel Smith's nut brown ale, good stuff!
  • jacob sanchez
qotd: Guinness is like chocolate milk to me, then Stella, and then any Japanese beer (I love Kirin and Asahi)
  • victor
wow - no one ever try a Tsingtao or Asahi? Great beers. Budweiser and Slavutich
are regular guests at my house too.
  • David
I would have take a couple of British pints of Caledonian.
  • QOTD: Alexander Keith's Pale Ale

(Obviously Canadian beer, I just cant stomach the pisswater they call "beer" in the US)
