Really? Is malbec that hot???? The next best thing?
It's my least favorite red wine.

That Las Cartujas drinks very well, its approachable and fun to drink, especially with food. It's not a 90 point wine, but a 90 Priorat for $15 is unheard of.

I'm someone who's considering starting a small vineyard in the near future and really enjoyed your rant on the business and future of wine. Thanks Gary!

Malbec is a great grape, i still believe in blending it with cab. sav. as with Amancaya from Barons de Rotschilde in Mendoza

it all depends on the consumers^ palate; and Malbec will strike with its power, and must be the beginnig of the “Combo Argentino”: American Steak (from California) with cute, juicy – spicy Malbec from la Argentina.

Among my favorite episodes thus far (though Heidi Barrett is best-looking one thus far plus possesses wonderful knowledge and has chemistry with GV). I particularly liked the focus on disintermediation in the wine business, innovation, entrepreneurship and how 3 Thieves/Rebel Wine have succeeded by challenging the status quo from packaging to varietals. It all plays in well with Cindy.com and its tremendous success pushing a high QPR. Makes me want to buy bulk wine and brand it accordingly…

Gary — If you're doing a Fiano show, open up a bottle of the Colli di Lapio Romana Clelia. While the 2008 is a little young (it will taste better the second day) this is AWESOME wine!

Good topic, Gary. I had no problem with this type of show (every now and then). Quite interesting to hear everyone's thoughts.

I remember three thieves – sitting in the CLOSEOUT bin. That stuff was junk. Those guys don't care about wine. They care about making a buck.

    Gary,
Interesting show (pun intended). Really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see the tasting and hear your opinion, but I think I'll go buy a bottle of the Malbec and try it for myself before I hear your opinion of it. I do like their Cab. For the price it's awesome.

BTW – I live in Nashville so I'm particularly fond of the label being that the Hatch Show Print Gallery is located here.
